How disable knockon with adb on android one - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi, the android one don't have various customization functions, and among several frustrations, I wanted at least a way even though is with root and adb to disable the knockon, it is very sensitive and is turning on the screen in my pocket and sometimes it brings down the notification bar and turn on and off functions that has there, like wifi and flashlight...
If the manufacturer was able to activate, must have a way to force the deactivation, since in android one does not have this option of customization.
Could someone help me to lower my rage?
Thanks everyone.
I have a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite with Android One 9.0.

Advanced Options - Do any exist?

I've owned one of these for almost a week now, and I keep finding myself wanting to be able to find an advanced options menu and change some things. Things such as the screen dim delay, gesture customization, and vibration intensity control, etc.
To that end, does anyone know if there's an app or a way to enable the watch to allow a one-press instant unlock function for the phone it is paired to? I keep my phone locked with a six digit code, the keypad having randomized positions (Feature from a custom ROM I use) each time the screen is turned on. I'd love if, when driving and I need to check something while the phone is in it's dock, I can just tap a key on my watch and have the phone unlock.
To THAT end, is there any way to enable some sort of security for the watch?
I know these things are brand new, but is anyone working on things like these? Does anything like this already exist?
search "trusted bluetooth". with lollipop and some custom ROMs(?) you can set the watch up as a trusted BT device, which will unlock the phone. things like "open on phone" actually pull the app up.

Do not disturb settings / overriding alert slider

I really like my new Oneplus 3, even its size, which I thought would be unbearable. But after using it for a couple days I have at last found something that I really dislike. From what I can tell, the do not disturb settings from vanilla Android have been nixed in favor of the alert slider. Thus one cannot automate times during which, say, the phone allows no notifications or allows only priority level notifications. Nor can do not disturb settings be activated from, say, a widget on the device: the alert slider must be used for everything. I presume the reason is that they don't want the settings to conflict with the slider (eg, going into a do not disturb mode when the slider is in the bottom most position).
However, I would like to be able to control these things from software. Is there any solution involving rooting? The only thing I don't want to do is install a new ROM (I don't want to lose the dash charging).
I am really interested about this too. Loosing the automated acttions such as DnD and Night mode are a setback for me.
Are there any ROMs out there which have at least tackled the DnD issue? The slider could be used then for something else (lock portrait mode, lamp light etc...)
Most apps and widgets I've tried since posting simply don't work, with one exception. I've found that the app Do Not Disturb by Cabooze (sorry, can't link) replicates the missing functionality and seems to mute notifications even when the alert slider is set in the bottom position. This is really not ideal (I would trade the alert slider for stock do not disturb in a second) but is an adequate stop gap.
Thanks for the info, that app seems to be working. But the feeling is the same. I fee like back in the days the function did not exist in stock, looking for tricks/apps and wondering if what I found will be reliable... still hoping we see soon solid custom roms which also offer a solution for all the missing automation.
You can surely use tasker for this...
i've designed an Alert Slider software override (non-root) for the OnePlus 3 (probably works on the newer OnePlus phones as well) It allows for scheduled setting of sound profiles. Need some advice on interest and how to Beta release.

Navigation bar issue after oreo update

Hi guys,
Would need some suggestions from you to understand what might have gone wrong.
I have noticed that after updating to oreo the navigation buttons are not properly placed. They are a little bit above the normal possible and doesn't seems to be in the middle of the black bar.
If you look close you can see that while i hover over the button the effect doesn't covers the entire area around.
Your help is much appreciated .

Try to turn on and off the fingerprint sensor gesture in Moto Actions, so the navbar should disappear and reappear. If this not solve, try to reboot. If also reboot does not solve, try to clean cache. At the end, if clean cache does not solve, you can only try a factory reset.

The same for me.
Tryied wipe cache, disabe and enable fingerprint functions and nothing.
Seen this on Lenovo forums and reddit as well. Apparently it's a burn-in preventative method built into Android Oreo. It's supposed to move the buttons and the hit marker shade with every lock and unlock of the device to keep the pixels within that area from being overutilized and thus, burned in. Have you checked to see if the location changes little by little every time you turn the display on and off?
Either way, not an issue for me. I'm perfectly fine with my fingerprint gestures so I can get full screen real estate, not to mention all the z3 play renders point to there being a software button equivalent to the fps gestures we have, which kills the benefits of having such in the first place

Yea, i did noticed that. Not only while i lock and unlock the phone but also when i try to turn on and off the navigation buttons it is changing position a bit eveytime. I always had those buttons turned on and this has made me to use the fingerprint sensor for navigation. ? I am assuming there are going to be other users as well with this issue in their moto with oreo

Same issue here with Brazil version. Sadly, it is very annoying.
I can confirm this issue. The exact issues as described by you all. Thing is I don't have any issues with the placement even though they slightly vary in positions. Just that the navigation buttons aren't as responsive as they were in Nougat.

So... this isn't an actual bug? For me its pretty annoying. especially when i'm on spotify or google play music for example and I unlock the phone and everything gets out of place and it rearrenges again. I factory reseted it but didnt work, was thinking about flashing a stock firmware through adb but now I'm not sure that it is even a problem to begin with.
Nav bar bug
It's is a bug and i have a solution ?
I have exactly the same issue with XT1710-09 RETEU on Oreo. I already got used to it but for me it's a bug of Moto Launcher. When I use LawnChair Launcher the problem seems to disapear.
Can you turn it off?
is there not a way a way to put the navigation bar on moto z2 play like there is the 3rd generation
This is not a bug. It's the design to prevent OLED screen burn-in
At first I thought the same. But after some research I found it as the design and to prevent screen burn-in for OLED display.

Reassign buttons ?

Hi guys,
Maybe one of you in here has an answer to this question...
I have the Moto g 5G Plus since 2 weeks now and I find it is a really nice device. Especially since I got it brand new from the manufacturer's site with a promotional offer : 320€ for the g 5g plus and the moto G8 offered for free.
The only thing I am missing on this phone is a LED that would tell me when the phone is charging or when I get a message or a missed call.
Anyways, the question is not about this : my question is about the button on the left. If you press it, you'll call Goolge Assistant. Well, this is cool, but... I don't use Google Assistant that much :-(
So I would like to know if there is a way to set this button as a shortcut to another app or feature (even like "Home" button...).
I've looked a little and it seems difficult, but if any of you would have an idea, I'd be a grateful taker
Regards.
Sadly as far as I know there is no way to customize that button as of now. Maybe a future (Android 11?) update may include that option.

Question Do not disturb mode

I'm new here and I'm not an expert, maybe someone could relate or knows how to fix these problems.
I want the "do not interrupt" mode to vibrate with the contacts that I put in exceptions, the ones that can interrupt when the mode is activated, does anyone know how to do that?
My moto g20 is new, I got it for xmas. My previous phone was a Samsung J5 Prime, and its "do not disturb mode" worked better, because it has more options, this mode on the moto G20 mute everything, and the contacts or apps that you allow to "interrupt" they can, but they don't make any sound or vibration.
And I think there is a bug that makes applications disappear from my home screen. I happened with google maps, I put it back and then there were two google maps on my home screen, maybe I'm crazy but maybe someone noticed this.
Also, the navigation buttons animations are kinda bugged, like, you press it once and the animation of pressing it does not end consistenly or properly (image attached, the animation freezes like that until a new input get registered), how do I fix these two bugs?
I uninstalled bloatware with ADB the first second I turned on the phone, maybe this is causing me problems?
Also, what blows my mind is that my older phone has better options that this brand new phohe released recently, it has no themes or icons customization, lintern brightness levels, and insensity or vibration patterns options, my previous phone did.
Sorry for the long text, I searched all the web but find nothing, because is a new phone. Also I contacted to Motorola support and has no response yet, neither from the motorola forums.
Thanks for reading
