Sorry, just a noob question, why this model don't is supported from community? No Rom, no modding, nothing of nothing, is so different from Mi8 (dipper)?

I will save you a lot of trouble by saying dont even try. Even the best dev would have a lot of troubles, xiaomi dont release kernel sourcea etc. Thats why its extremely difficult and i wouldnt get my hopes up if i were you.

Aosp is stock android. Anyways, you still need drivers, kernels etc. Its not an easy process.
Sometimes Xiaomi releases Sources, most of the time it is after a while.

My Honor 7x will come today.. My situation is different here. I don't have any other choice. So buying 7x..
My wife using Honor 6x. So i already know about UI and OS.
Development will take some time here. Kennel sources are already out..
I will give some detailed review after i get my 7x

I ordered a 7x last week from the Huawei Honor website, the tentative ship date that they said was 12/15 so I don't know if AliExpress can start shipping prior to that?

as far as development is concerned it all depends on how many devs it attracts and since XDA is getting sponsorship from them then i think it will be a magnet for devs.
also throw me any questions about the phone.. would love to answer more..

Project Treble is not entirely dependent on android 8
though i know even google claims that treble is supported on 8.0 onwards

so a (partial working) oreo build was compiled for a phone which didnt even see Nougat release.. its all on the partition and devs going forward with excitement leading to better support and faster releases..

I was just searching through Google to see if huawei had released the source code for Honor 8x.
Guess what!!!!
It is there in the open kirin website. I've downloaded it but I'm not a dev.
So I'm sharing this here so that someone with kirin soc development experience can work with this and possibly, get the development going for Honor 8x.

I think only because of bootloader unlock not available officially for Honor anymore.
probably because it now costs 50 dollars to unlock the bootloader

i got my H8X today, including my unlock code (previous owner bought one).
I'll add support for EMUI9 based AOSP builds in the future.

They both are different one is based on Kirin and another is based on Snapdragon processor.

I know it's crazy no one has picked up development for it but I know it's the whole bootloader thing that is turning people off it sucks

Thousands of people paid for these services, even 'unrootable' phones (Vivo, Meizu, Oppo etc) can be rooted.
In their Huawei FAQ, most models can be rooted, I saw 8x, 8x Max (EMUI8) , Honor Play, Honor V10 (View 10), although they did not mention the latest phones. Some comments and review are from 2019!
EMUI9 updated-phones also can be rooted, best not to update before rooting. Try messaging the staff for best answer.
Google Chrome can auto translate page, best do it on PC.

Yup, he will come home at Saturday I believe and then he will work on kernel and GSI, A telegram group will be also up when he post the GSI
Phone uses a SOC that just does not get much development in general. It's not the A70's fault per se. See Google Pixel 3a, or Xiaomi A3. Barely any development. Most roms are just half-baked, have "sleep death" and whatnot bugs.
That said, check the SD 855 for example. Same story. OnePlus 7 Pro just got official LineageOS, but if you check Xiaomi Mi 9 or Mi 9T Pro - both are dead.
The SD845 had more development going on for sure. Oh well.

Development is already underway for a70. We already have a functional twrp and the dev's are completing the source compilation to start custom rom building. Just need to fix the fp part. Will be done in a timely manner because we have some great and dedicated developers onboard.
