This maybe more of a Android 9.0 Pie question, however I just upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S7 running Android 8.01 Oreo, which had "Message Access" enable/disable feature under the Bluetooth Connections (gear setting - "Use For") to allow text message notifications and sharing (text to voice and/texts) to my vehicles Nav-Head unit. I cannot find any sort of feature enable/disable on my Pixel 3/XL with Android Pie. Am I missing something or was this capability removed with Pie and/or the Pixel 3/XL or just hidden away somewhere else? I cannot get the Pixel to share text messages or text notifications with MyLink in the chevy vehicle, but my Galaxy S7 still works just fine.
If the device your connected to supports this option, it'll be there

MyLink head unit supports just fine, and s I said in my OP, my Galaxy S7 w/ Oreo work just fine and there is a setting in its options to enable "Message Access" in the S7's settings. There appears to be no option to enable the same "Message Access" in the Bluetooth setting on the Pixel 3/Android Pie. My Pixel is synced to Bluetooth for use with the voice over bluetooth but not SMS messaging I see on other posts on other forums that people are having similar issues. I know on iPhones this is under the Bluetooth MAP settings to share SMS messages through Bluetooth.
If you have this setting to enable or know where it is at (show me a pic please), please let me know. I attached what this setting looks like on Oreo w/ the S7.

Well after pairing->removing-> repairing like 20 times....finally got the Pixel to work with SMS over bluetooth. Not nearly as stable w/ Bluetooth devices as my S7 and iPhones.
Under "my Maxima" blue tooth settings, I find "text messages" . It does not say message access as oreo, but i can hear text messages and send automated replies.

Unfortunately this is a known behavior and won´t fixed by the Here Support. I wrote with them several times. App is optimized to not use in Landscape Mode. Thats the matter. Start a Route, you can set some settings there.
Thanks! Is there a better offline mapping solution for the US? I tried Sygic, but depending on the direction of the wind, I was only able to access countries other than mine.
I tried following:
Navigon - Not Working with build in GPS Chip
Waze - Too Tiny, Only Online
Here - Missing Settings
Sygic - Ugly maps, malfunctions in settings, lose of maps after serveral times.
and others.
TomTom - Crashes with 3G Dongle connected.
I use TomTom with Wifi Stick now (so no crashes) and its working very well. Its for 19Euro per Year... seems to be ok.
You can try the latest google maps. Its able to store offline cards now tow. But i dont like the voice and the style...
Becareful upgrading to new version ..won't start on mine.. But all other devices working ok.. I went back to this version and working fine..

Also on a 1024x600 Pixel Android car hifi the settingspage is still blank. This must be only Software blocking our car Radios.
Has anyone found an App or Hack how to turn around the Screen to Switch the map Location to my external sd-card

I just updated my T-Mobile Tab s4 to Pie. I was hoping the Tab S5e message and calling feature would come to this tablet. Well, it did, but is blocked. It is baked into the Pie update and alive on the tablet (see screenshot), i just cannot access it. Any savvy geniuses out there want to get this figured out?
Any luck?
Could you flash an international ROM possibly? I'm not sure exactly what would be compatible or not.
I have a SMT835N and recently tried a Sprint ROM and Phone ability was removed. I am wondering if the same limitation is applied across US carriers and if that limitation is not present in international versions.
Hi. Your post doesn't show any screenshot. How do I get there? I have the Wi-Fi version.

Call and message continuity (as far as I know) didn't get added to the S4. Maybe for the LTE versions, but my US wifi model doesn't even have the option. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I'm not seeing it on my T-Mobile S4 at all...
My UK Wifi Tab S4 got Continuity with the Pie update, but I was only able to use it when my S10+ received an update this week.
Screenshots?
My tab s4 does not have call option with any update
I found something potentially interesting. I'm not sure about the inner workings of Call and Message Continuity, but it seems like it might be an apk? There is an app with that name on apkmirror. I downloaded and tried to install it but it just says install failed..... If that's all that's needed maybe it needs to be a system app?
Hi coming to Galaxy Watch afte more-than- 6 years on wear os and i totaly dislike notification behavior.
On WearOS i used to have the chance to get the notification always visible on screen until i dismiss it. Here i can only see a notification dot if there are unread notifications. Is there a workaround to keep the notification always visible like on wear os?
Another annoying behavior is that ifi get more than a notification from the same app but different title ( messages from more whattsupp contacts or more than a mail) in the notifications pane GW shows only the last message and a number with the other contacts. in andorid wear (but meany other whatches has the seam behavior) i see all the messages if they are from the same contact. If more than a contact wrote, i see the very last message of each contact, and not grouped by app. Is there a way to change this?

First off, I Love the phone. Hardware is great, Android 12 is mostly great but there are some weird things I've noticed that haven't really been an issue on previous phones pre-Android 12. I got rid of a OnePlus 8 pro for the Pixel 6 pro.
1: I have to use a Bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter (Bluetooth to auxillary input) on my car to Bluetooth to my stereo. Issue is, the adapter is ALWAYS on and when in range my phone is ALWAYS connected to that adapter. Android 12 gives you the option to quickly switch when you're playing music or watching a YouTube video in the volume slider menu but not say when you're playing a Facebook video, Instagram video or similar. The workaround has been to just completely disconnect Bluetooth which interferes with other devices like my Fitbit and such.

2: AOD doesn't come on when it's dark out. I usually get up at around 4am, and of course it's dark in my room. When it's pretty dark, not even pitch black AOD doesn't turn on. It's almost like the phone lacks a proximity sensor and relies souly on a light sensor for AOD. Another scenario was I was out with my family trick or treating tonight, in the suburbs where there was plenty of light and AOD still didn't come on when I pulled out the phone to check the time. Of course this isn't a huge issue, just an inconvenience
3: the lack of ability to set your own lock screen shortcuts. I don't use Google pay, nor do I control devices using the Google home app or shortcut.. it would be nice to set those to whatever I want. To add into that, I do have those both disabled but occasionally the Google home shortcut appears when I click the power button to turn the phone on. If I click it of and back on about 80% of the time it disappears.
I don't want anyone to take these as complaining, just thought maybe I'd chime in on some "issues" I've noticed.
I'm rooted on OOS12, and I recently switched to using AdGuard VPN. Now I have two more persistent notifications cluttering up my notification space: The AdGuard notification which I can turn off, and the Android System notification that says "VPN activated" which I cannot turn off or minimize. I want to get rid of that useless system notification - is there any way to do that? Magisk module, etc.?
I seem to recall finding a way to do this on a previous device, but my guess is I was using some mod that isn't available for the 9Pro (Gravity Box or XXXNoLimits, maybe).
Search for 'status icons' and turn off vpn.
Alternatively you can use a private dns such as dns.adguard.com

Status Icons gets rid of the icon in the top right (the key icon) but not the persistent notification.
I intentionally switched to AdGuard VPN for the app-level control because I need to allow ads in certain apps. I was previously changing my DNS settings with Tasker when I launched specific apps, but it was a major hassle and didn't work reliably.
Whatever persistent notification you have just silence it and it disappears. I have blokada running and no notifications at all

That's exactly what I'd love to do, but there is no way I can find to make it go away. It can't be swiped, and if I long press it says these notifications cannot be modified. This happens with all VPNs, not just those used for ad blocking.
Found a solution, though not a perfect one. The app "Auto Notifications" can intercept the notification and prevent it from displaying. Running another background app isn't ideal, but beggars can't be choosers, I'll take it!
