I have a problem with notifications that most of the time arrive when I unlock the phone. I already disabled my messaging apps from battery optimization but somehow it seeems that those apps are being optimized or the phone goes to sleep. I'm currently using greenify but those apps with notification are not included in greenify list.
I am currently on oreo 9.6.9 and from what I remember I also had this problem with the previous version.
Do you have any suggestion? And those who have latest oreo version does my problem sometimes occurs to you?

Hey guys weird problem I'm nearly always having this problem on most ROMs
Its like my push notifications don't work after I leave my phone sleep for a certain period of time and then when i unlock my phone after this certain period of time all the notifications from any app comes through.
I know this was a problem that was "supposedly" fixed on a community build but I'm pretty sure it wasn't ,
A lot of people have this problem and unfortunately I'm also one of them.
Its only now its starting to get annoying as I missed an important msg
Is this not a doze issue? You can exclude apps from doze by adding them to the ignore optimisation.

How do you do that I'm on cyanogenmod 14.1
I also have this issue. Disabling Doze fixes it but then battery life becomes poor. I'm currently testing Greenify and its Aggressive Doze mode, but seems that's not a solution...
Not working no matter what I do
Does anyone had that problem? I wanted to post in the topic related to the kernel but I'm not sure where it is...
With standard RR notifications were working fine, but with FlareN I'm receiving them only if I open the app.
Same settings as before.
I'm using also Greenify (rooted mode) and 360 Battery, but WhatsApp is in the whitelist of both these apps.
you are using greenify?
Yes, but WhasApp is "degreenified", as long as Telegram which works fine. I have tried removing 360 Battery because I think it's less effective than Greenify but WhatsApp was added in the "ignored apps" on both 360 Battery and Greenify (as told before)
Moved to Holo Kernel, seems that now it's working. I guess it was FlareN the problem.
Joking... The problem is still here
Hi,
I find that widgets have become a mess after the Oreo update. I use two news apps (BBC and Guardian) with widgets. Both of them have issues with their widgets now.... The widgets do not update and sometimes they hang completely and I must remove them and place them back on the screen to allow them to work again.
I have noticed that even the pre-installed weather widget stops updating after a while....
Does anybody else see this problem?
Hi there,
This may be related to Oreo force closing background apps for saving battery. You may check Battery settings for those two apps. If it is set as Managed Automatically, try to make them Managed Manually. It should be in Settings > Apps and Notifications > Apps > (your app) > Battery.
Bests
I tried to manage their background activities manually and enabled all three permissions but it doesn't make any difference.
Also, the weather widget is not in the list so there is nothing to do about that.
The problem is intermittent and sometimes it takes several days to show up, which makes me think it is indeed related to some battery management algorithms but I can't find a way to solve the problem.
I never saw this behaviour during the year I used the phone on Android 7.0.
On an unrelated note I also find that the Wi-Fi connection drops more frequently if the signal is low, particularly when the phone is in stand-by. Again, I had never seen this behaviour before the Oreo update...
So I've been having this issue for quite some time, but i guess i got used to it so it didn't pose much of a problem untill now. All of my Whatsapp messages are delayed when screen off and WiFi on, and they come through from 2-4 all the way up to 20+ min after they are sent. As soon as i turn screen on, they pop up on screen.
I assumed that it was due to greenifys rigorous doze settings, so i uninstalled it. Some threads suggested Titanium backup may be culprit, so i uninstalled it too. I also added Whatsapp to battery optimization whitelist and ticked on run in background and unrestricted data usage, but with no success, and also completely reinstalling Whatsapp.
I even reflashed stock pie and oreo, but same thing happens. I suspected that deep sleep might be interfering with cloud messaging services, but even on stock pie device enters deep sleep even with WiFi on in minutes after screen off, so im pretty confused with it all.
I am running Pie v10.0.9.0.PLDMIXM with magisk, busybox, xposed, substratum, gravitybox installed. Apart from that there are no other apps interfering with the system whatsoever.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It's the system power and ram management. That system kills the processes and doesn't allow them to revive for instant notification. Same happens with facebook and facebook messenger, not only watsapp. Instagram does this also. I receive a follow notification on my iPhone and the notification appears on the Mi A2 Lite only after the screen is on and unlocked.

Oh i see. i totally get that over agressive ram managment, because even with 4 tabs open, it kills them very soon, to a no avail have i tried to fix it, it seems to be rooted issue...
Do you know any possible fix or workaround for this? Maybe to convert these apps to privileged, e.g. system apps or something? There must be some kind of solution for this.

Nope. Some said that this is purely Xiaomi's fault. But no. I have another Allview phone doing the exact same stuff. This may be an unmodified kernel for the said chipset. Companies like Samsung, Sony, HTC etc. may edit that kernel to be more mild, while Xiaomi, to reduce the costs doesn't.
Hi everybody,
I'm running CN rom KLEN2011100CN00MQ3 and I'm having problems with my WhatsApp notifications. The OS doesn't allow the app to auto start even after I've gone into the app settings and enabled it.
Does anyone have any solution to this problem?
Its the battery saver find the google services framework apk and install it (if you dont have it already) and make sure the battery saver is turned off on that one. It tends to turn it on automatically whenever the phone battery runs low. Also for some weird reason whatsapp still turns off for me when im sleeping and i have to open it back when I wake up in the morning.
The chinese rom is too invasive in myopinion and if you know how to change over to the global I suggest you do.
