Good Morning,
I have searched for this thread but could not find one that answers my question which is:
Is it possible to unroot my phone and go back to stock android?
The reason being is that I would like to get the phone repaired under warranty which it is still covered by.
I would be grateful for any help. If you need anymore information about the phone the please let me know.
The phone was rooted when I bought it. SM-A520F.
I'm UK based if this helps towards getting the right fw.
Thanks
EDIT: - I have magisk v18.0 installed and also TWRP 3.0.2-0 if that helps.

Thanks for the response.
I'll try that. But I think Knox may have been tripped but I can't clarify.
When I boot in Odin Mode I can see on the screen it says:
warranty void: 1 (0x020c)
However when checking with an app it states the phone warranty is still valid. See images.

I know that's why I needed clarity over whether Knox has been tripped.
In Odin mode it says warranty void: 1 (0x020c) but the images show that Knox hasn't been tripped.
Which is correct?

Once tripped Knox has been forever tripped.
I have not heard that KNOX can be reset.

Nothing apart from data when you first flash the the new rom.
Aside from that you might brick your phone if you don't install the rom correctly.

Samsung health and s pay won't work. S health is pretty easy to get working though. S pay requires a kernel designed to make it work on root.
Kingroot or any other one click root won't work.

Just curious why KNOX is so awful to everyone.
Does it prevent root altogether?
Does it prevent custom ROMs from being installed?
Does it only prove to Samsung that you have messed with your phone and broken your warranty?
All honest questions: please be gentle.

KNOX is so awful because many people don't realize they already have it. Then when trying to fix a semi brick, they flash the wrong tar file that downgrades the bootloader. BRICK!

Thanks for the info.
I don't care about my warranty; my cracked screen will probably prevent any warranty claims from happening anyway.
What do you look for to make sure that you are flashing to the same firmware?

Settings/More/About Device. Mostly whatever you firmware you flash, you can't go back from that.

One of the main things one has to be careful with when Knox'ed up is the bootloader. Once you have a Knox bootloader, you can't flash any ROM that will overwrite with a non-Knox bootloader, or flash back to a pre-Knox stock bootloader.

Since knox is inevitable, I am going to take a few moments to see if it is useful. I want to experience if enterprise email and calendar apps will be beneficial rather than using outlook web app.
I will eventually root the device which I believe will break knox. I understand there is no way to hide root from knox since it would defeat the purpose. Does anyone know if there is any way to go back after knox detects root. Does going back to stock allow knox to work again.

Once KNOX has been tripped, you no longer have protection through KNOX. None of the KNOX security apps will work and there is no way back.

Hi All
I had installed Ditto Note 3 v4_RC2 later the phone started to hang and restart, so i decided to flash 4.4.2 (stock) via Odin and i was successful. But the status is being displayed as " Custom " . I have 8 months warranty left. Please guide me in getting back to official status. :crying:
I hope in the three hours since posting you've solved this issue. All it would take is a small amount of research.
IF you researched and are still unsure please get back in touch, with details

Details sir, it's all about the details.... There's more than one way to crack an egg - few people are going to waste their time speculating how you did it...
What precisely is your goal / why are you doing this?
Which KK ROM exactly, from where?
How did you root?
Which Triangle away version, from where, what exactly did you do?
--
1 free speculation:
If all you care is about the settings option, I think you might be able to just open triangle away click "allow tracker to run" and then reboot into download mode, then just hold the power button down until it reboots again.
Are you sure you didn't see this?

You must root your device for installing this rom/mod. so now your warranty is void. if anything happens to you or your phone is solely your resposibility.
We don't allow chefs/devs/themers to use the files added or modded by us in this ROM.

I recently got my S6 back from Samsung. They untripped knox, and installed a very slim rom without any of the sprint bloatware, and no sprint splash screen. Is there some way I can back up this rom to be able to flash it in odin if/when I need to?
Thanks!

You can back up everything if you flash TWRP recovery and select the backup option it comes in hand but other than that i dont believe you can do it without tripping Knox again
Thanks for the reply, that's unfortunate news. I really don't feel like tripping Knox since I would like samsung pay to continue working.

You can try ADB Backup. A good set of instructions can be found at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/guide-phone-backup-unlock-root-t1420351
No guarantee that this will work, but it should not trip Knox.
Please post a system dump of this b3fore you do anything. PLEASE

Is it oi1 build ? Ive sent plenty phones back for warranty and samsung never did that before . Trip knox , so what? Samsung warrantys phones like that all the time . Just tell them you took it to the samsung experience shop at "BestBuy" and they tried to flash the operating system to get the phone working properly again. Id tell them it kept rebooting after you updated it through wifi to 5.1.1 . Youll never have an issue with them if you explain it to them that way . Give us a new build lol

Nothing will restore the trip, when it tripped it is actually physical damage being done to the phone.

Are you serious? How does that work?
When you trip the Knox void counter actual damage is occuring. What happens is a tiny pathway is physically burned into halves and is no longer making a completed circuit, thus throwing a flag or tripping the KNOX. It would theoretically be possible to repair the damage and restore the counter back to zero. Given a very skilled and educated person.

im pretty sure knox is just an efuse, not an actual fuse. samsung is able to reset it but havent released the required codes for others to.
Hey, I used to know about this stuff years ago but stopped so I'm a little lost.
I bought a LG G7 Canadian version off some person (Kijiji) and the phone works fine its fast but I noticed it wasn't normal.
When i start the phone up text says "your device software cannot be checked for corruption" then the phone works normally. The launcher also has a watermark that says userdebug 7.0.6 (70000600) 329.
I've spent the whole day trying to remove it but can't find a way bc Im scared I'll brick it since its Canadian Version.
I'm able to boot the phone into recovery and stuff.
In developer options it says the OEM is unlocked But I thought it wasn't possible with the Canadian version? The person I bought it from seemed clueless about it -_-
Some things to add - The IMEI works, calls etc. There's no S/N. The phone has no "ThinQ" brand on the back but it says LG. It's currently unrooted. I think they may have done that b4 selling to me?
Im too scared to root it myself. Tbh i just want the bootup to be normal and not ugly looking and I want the watermark gone. https://elit3rising.imgur.com/all/?third_party=1
Anyone willing to help me out with this?

I reset it 5 times. It has something to do with root. I cant post this in the other section. Resetting wont fix something that has to do with Bootloader stuff
Canadian version is not unlockable so my only assumption is the phone you have is not a Canadian version and perhaps crossed flashed to canadian firmware

Can you boot in fastboot?
Yes I can fastboot. And yeah that seems more logical and extremely more confusing at the same time

I'm on same phone. Dude that sold it to me said it's Euro model but it's showing Canadian LG-G710AWM20c and I'm the opposite, I want to root/unlock/bootloader unlock but keep running into dead ends. Anyone grab the wheel and point me somewhere usefully? I've done many searches & much reading. There is a root for uwm I believe it was, it was American, can I flash their firmware the unlock with modded bootloader? I'm will to try risky stuff if it has logic. Don't care much for the phone. If I ruin it just a reason to grab Samsung Galaxy S10.
Thanks in advance.
I'm ghost 4 now.... I'll check in every
