Hello guys im litle nostalgic and i do not wana change my HTC 10 im HTC user from the very begining with HD diamond HD HD2 and so on now im with HTC 10 from long time i dont upgrade to any new HTC device because of the Unibody change i hate this glass stuffs and right now my HTC 10 is still good phone i dont need a brand new because none of the latest flagships has the same visual appealing to me of course the new models everytime will have better and better specs it is normal but nobody of them have the design the feel in hand of the HTC 10
my simple question is.
As i wana use it for a daily driver what is the recomended OREO rom to use?
Im with US unlocked S off version with Nougat viper 5.1.1 fine the phone works great but with the time the new softwares and apps that i want doesnt work as i wish for example for a daily driver i need a good camera like Gcam but the problem is that the latest and most improved Gcam builds are working under Oreo and Above and im starting to miss this.
of course there are Gcam ports runing on Nougat but they are so outdated and laggy.
Im thinking of the following to flash the Oreo latest Firmware and latest US Unlocked OREO ROM and after this im stopt... since no further development and many developers stop working on that device i dont have idea what OREO ROM is best for daily driver stable and solid i dont mind to be Sense or not anyway im using NOVA launcer all the time..
just daily stable OREO ROM in order to be able to try some of the latest Oreo Gcam ports.
WHat do you recomend.?
Thanks in advance
I think i am right that the most updated sense rom is Leedroid sense rom. All the sense oreo roms are stable but i feel that Leedroid has just that little bit more to offer.
I use leedroid as daily driver and have no issues
Can't give feedback about Aosp or LOS as i never used them.
Using a used 10 i picked up on swappa from one of our members here. The battery life is around 85% but I have been using this thing as my daily driver since July. I'm on sprint so I went the bad boys 8.0 route and then jumped to LOS as soon as fagyi had it uploaded. Now I am running AOiSP 9.0 without any problems since the day after it was released. Battery life is amazing with this thing as long as you keep the kernel under thermal governor. It was overheating while streaming audio via bluetooth for some strange reason before. I am also using one of the Gcam ports with night vision and such and it works somewhat sometimes as its buggy and crashes. The pics it takes in low light are awesome though at night when it does work. For my audio mod I use Viper Xhifi loaded via magisk. I am super happy with this device I picked up for a fraction of the original price not too long ago, put a screen protector and case on it for $15 and even tossed jcase the loot for the sunshine. If you go the aosip route, it includes the LOS camera and gapps built into the system so you only have to flash one file after you wipe. Stock camera works great for pics on the regular. Also as an FYI, Fagyi still working active dev on this device and with last LOS update not too long ago. Pie is good and he may be working on whatever comes next in his spare time.
Still using mine. Can't seem to move away from it
Hell yea man. HTC10 is a great phone... Best phone made in 2016 i'd say. I'm running Android 9.0 via LineageOS w/ GApps. Few minor tweaks like greenify and adaway and kernel aiuditor and busybox and titaniun backup, which all you need root for. I flashed the most forked Android 9.0 of LineageOS for PME, running US unlocked firmware, S-OFF. Phone runs like a champ.

Broke my current phone and will have to use my old Desire for a couple of weeks. Last time I used it I remember Oxygen based roms were the fastest by far. Is this still true, or is the new kitkat a true contender?
I tĥink I used a rom called nicks phone.. anyone still use it? Although when I booted up the phone a few minutes ago it had Mildwild on, but totally unconfigured so I dont think ive really used it. Seems a bit sluggish though so i will want to install something else.
So I guess super fast and snappy are my only wishes. Old or new version of android, extra features, etc doesnt matter.
As a general rule, gingerbread AOSP ROMs were 'fastest' and most stable for Desire
As a more universal rule however, it's better to try different ROMs for your usage and preferences. Others can only really give their experiences with different setups etc, and their definition of fast, stable, "amazing battery" will differ massively.
- Nandroid backup
- Full wipe install new rom
- Test
- (Optional: repeat/restore backup)
- Make up mind
I used to care about getting the latest android version, but ICS and beyond the camera was unusable and everything was just laggy. I moved back to gingerbread and have been using mildwild's rom based on oxygen for over a year. It doesn't contain very much customization, but its stable and as snappy as we're going to get on such an old phone. No one's really developing for the desire anymore so I've decided to just stop playing around with other roms since this one doesn't give me any problems. Here's a link to the rom

Thanks, just the kind of input I was looking for. Just flashed the rom and the update andit seems Lightning fast. But I cannot start Play store as it crashes. Did you experience this issue?
Could I just flash latest gapps on this install?
Had to remove the Mildwild rom because there was no way to fix Play store. Ended up installing the rom Nicks Phone instead. Blazing fast and everything works perfect. Its also based on Oxygen and I really recommend it.

Try a stock rooted rom with a2sd. E.g Gingerbread 2.3.3, there are many available and everything works.
Cheers
I'm using official oxygen ROM and it's still by far the fastest. Kk Roms all slow down and become unstable after a few days.

Someone can give me link to oxygen rom i cant find working mirror
I can't remember where I found it. I had to search a bit. Took me even longer to find the track pad to wake mod.
I would upload a copy but I don't have a home internet plan and am really low on data right now.

For me, evervolv has done a great job. Here is the link
It is almost as snappy as oxygen and plus it has the latest android technology. No added lag after a few days whatsoever.
If Nikez fixes the kernel to be a 3.x one I think we will have a winner.
So for me, Oxygen comes first and Evervolv's KitKat comes second in terms of performance.
But I still have updated to Evervolv since Desire is now a good backup device for me that I use as a GPS etc.
I'm still on oxygen. Weeks now as my daily driver work phone and it's fast and stable. Leaving my n5 at home to keep it safe.
Unless someone can honestly say that stability has changed leaps and bounds in the past couple months then I see now point in going through the frustration of any regularly crashing kk rom on the desire. I think it's come as far as possible and just can't run the new stuff.
I'm really hoping the newer stuff like my n5 will be different and able to work reliably in a couple more years on up to date software. Hardware wise my desire is holding up like new after almost 4 years. I hate to toss it while its still good.

Hello,
I currently have a sony z3 compact with the latest cyanogen output 12.1 nightly, the oneplus3 or oneplus3t interest me a lot.
I want to buy it, but I do not want to buy it without being able to install a version of cyanogen "stable" I saw that on the rom the camera does not work, there is quite a lot of Bug and the battery empties quickly.
I would like to know if you have more information about the rom and if you advise me to wait a little so that the bugs are corrected
Thank you
I'm using latest snapshot of the official CM13 and it works without an issues. There's also a camera port for improved quality (OxygenOS comparable) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/port-oxygenos-stock-camera-cm-t3451721
You can use whatever version you would like to. As my oneplus 3 being my daily driver. I know its hard to work with a buggy environment. I took my time and waited for a rather bug less os. And here it is. The cyanogen team just released the cyanogen nightly. Which is seriously dope. I get battery upto 1 day with just one charge. That too with dash charging. As it supports dash charging as well. Then only you would wonder whether the forum is correct or i m. See there are a lot of threads made by different community members. There was no official cyanogen thread created untill they released the latest nightly. So whenever you see some buggy page. It seems to be someone with a custom version of the cyanogen nightly. You can either opt for that or the one from cyanogen site. As using the basic version straight from cyanogen i can tell you. Its a serious deal. You get everything you could ask for. A debloated os with great performance and more than anything battery backup is humongous.
Although you still have to work around with some issues. But nothing's major. Plus the echo in call is there for some variants. While others had none. I had none personally. Just some minor bugs and issues. I hope will be solved within weeks. And you'll get a stable os soon. Opt for any of them. Choice is yours. My vote goes to cm 14.1 nightly from cm site.
A big thank you for your answers which are complete
I'll buy one more 3
Thank you :good:
For the past couple of months, I'm just Rom hopping from one to another. I can't figure out the one perfect Rom. And, I'm kind of tired, really. So, I want to stick with one Rom for now.Seriously guys, What's your daily driver? I really(desperately) want your opinion.
I did a lot of ROM hopping, too. After all, my favorites are (in that order):
1. LineageOS 14.1 by dianlujitao
2. Resurrection Remix 7.1.1 official by sud.vastav
3. Experience ROM v10.1 by jamal2367
Currently I (have to) run Experience ROM, since I cannot connect to 4G networks on CM/Lineage based ROMs for whatever reason (weird, because OOS based works fine, still would prefer to return to Lineage).
Hope that helps.
Cheers
My only issue with non stock roms is Camera. How's Camera quality on lineageOS? I've tried resurrection remix and camera quality was ok. Paranoid Android has a great camera, but, has some minor bugs (deal breaker for me)
Did LineageOS something new compared with CM in terms of stability and performance?
---------- Post added at 06:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:36 AM ----------
Since back in october when I bought this phone I`ve been tested like almost all roms (CM, RR, Paranoid, AOKP, Omni, etc) - like 90% of them and in the final I stayed up on FreedomOS 1.7 (3.2.8 OOS based) with ElementalX MM kernel and AKT scripts. I get as a daily basis at least 5 hrs sot (if I have enough time to use the phone that much ) or at least 24hrs with no charge, or more with almost 2 hrs calls, 2-3 hrs sot, sync on, mobile data on/wifi on and location on (battery saving). The main things that this to help is to be around my hometown since its mandatory that carrier signal to be good for that battery use. In a week-end went in a mountain zone with some friends and because phone had a bad signal (also had mobile data turned on) I got abt 17 hrs battery with like almost 2 hrs sot. I won`t move to Android N yet, because all that it brings, at least so far, isn`t that huge improvement compared with MM.
Another thing that kept me on stock was (and still is) the photo quality and the GPS performance since I`m using navigation alot(waze) when I`m driving around in my area.
Edit: I use the phone with both dual sims online btw.
Yeah, same here. All this roms are cool, but, camera quality is just not there yet. And that is a big deal breaker for me. I try every new rom in a hope that it would be comparable to oos (I know oneplus has tightly integrated their camera's with system that it is difficult to extract into apk, but, god it would be awesome)
apk ports aren`t the thing to get camera performance. It`s the kernel that makes that work. Else you`ll get only a more processed image, and processing images can`t be made to work in all taking pictures conditions.
Oh I see. So, if the Oneplus releases the kernel sources, why is the camera quality still an issue?
Stock OOS 4.0.2 with Unlocked Bootloader, TWRP and SuperSU, also running latest ElementalX Kernel, so far its a good combination, also unbloated the Stock OOS with a Script from the Community, battery life could be better but its okay.
freedomOS MM with ElementalX. I'd love to try over ROMs but for whatever reason all the ones I have tried don't let me use the hardware home button...
Experience rom since its oos based. Used freedom in MM but both roms are similar
After testing dozens of roms i finally decided to stick with Experience rom v10.1.
Combined with latest kernel r7 franco build wich provides zero idle battery drain and using akt fusion performance profile,i have best performance with zero lags and great battery times(6+sot).Definitely recomend for daily driver. The reason i stick with oos roms is for the camera wich i want to get every time the true potential
Open Beta 11 & so on, now with blu_spark.
FreedomOS since i got my phone, love the ROM. Kernel is bluspark
Interesting. I've to give a try to akt scripts now.
I also tried a lot of ROMS... OOS 4.0, LOS14.1, CM13... and the best one for me is:
sultan's CM13 with SuperSU, Xposed and ForceDoze
This is IMHO the smoothest and most bugfree ROM. I'm using it since 1 month now, and I'm always getting 7-8h SOT (Wifi, BT, 4G, GPS, auto-brightness, everything turned always on). On light usage battery lasts for 3 days with 5-6h SOT. I also never experienced random reboots like on OOS or other ROMs.
I really wished to use Nougat, but this ROM is just better than Nougat. Also thanks to Android N-Ify I'm not missing anything from Nougat.
latest Open Beta is my DD
no point in adding specific version numbers - major versions only IMO
Slim is super smooth and has insane battery life.
What about camera quality?
FreeDom stable, not ce-cb, it's my favorite. Experience, it's good too.
LineageOS by Flo071
This forum is very confusing, not like my old phones forums.
I just wanted to ask what ROM and kernel combo you all use and what you've found the best. Just asking for opinions and a chat. Don't kill me
I'm on LineageOS 15.1 with Alize Kernel. Very nice and smooth with good battery life and since it's 64bit I can use the Google Camera port with HDR+ which massively improves the usability of the camera for me!

Details are in the LOS 15.1 thread. Read through the replies from the 21st of December, everything you'll need to get it working is there!
I'm using the stock debloated and rooted ROM, I prefer stock because it has better quality calls and because of the battery, it's just amazing, with linage is 14.1 I could even last a full day with a lot of use. But with stock I've been in a small trip with friends and most of the time we were with the Bluetooth and GPS on, battery lasted all day long, and over night it just use 2% of battery. Also you can install Xposed, so you have almost the same customization as Linage OS. The only thing that bother me is that I can not make run my favorite sound mod, Dolby ATMOS.
I'll wait until a stock debloated and rooted 8.0 or 8.1 ROM appears or gets developed.
It's always fun in XDA, thanks for the great times I've had in this forum.
I'm also using the stock debloated ROM but unrooted. I don't have a need for root really. But this ROM is amazing.
I had the phone for around 8-9 months before I could be bothered going to the trouble of unlocking bootloader and such. Will never look back, I have so much more free internal storage and phone is a lot faster!
Hi I've been using the default Xiaomi ROM since I bought this device about a year ago. It was working fine with the Android 9 upgrade, but I noticed Android 10 runs noticeably slow. So I want to change the ROM, but I'm unaware if the issues are because of Xiaomi ****ing up, or if Android 10 is not light enough for the device. So I want to know which custom ROM of the ones available in this forum would best suit me if what I'm looking for is reliability and speed. I would like to stay in Android 10 if possible, so if anyone got experiences with custom Android 10 ROMS that could give some insight into their performance with this device I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
HavocOS is pretty nice, also Pixel Experience is pretty nice but when I was testing it, it had pretty bad battery 5-6h SoT. If I were you I would wait for POSP to be updated which should hopefuly happen soon. I personally use HavocOS vanilla and it works great, only issue I have is bluetooth audio that stutters rarely, and battery might not satisfy you. I get about 8h of SoT, while on stock android one I was able to get 12-13h

I ended up installing Havoc OS, only issue is camera and flashlight are both not working at all. Do you know how to fix this? I used 10.0.9.0 formware as a base

I don't have any problem with those, but I used 11.0.10.0 as base and everything works as it should. Also it might be cause by newer version, on 3.8 I had no problems and I didn't install 3.9 yet

I had flashed a "gcam_fix" zip that the guide I followed told me to install... had to clean flash again but it's working now.

By default the OS is almost not dozing, so you can see a bit more of battery usage, but you can tweak the kernel to save battery and make it last "forever", see the instructions on butterfly kernel post.
