Substratum working on Pie 9.0 OOS OB20 - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

I've been using Substratum for a couple of years, and I've never had the engine soft brick a device until now. For anyone interested, Swift Substratum theme works really well on Pie OOS.
There's a theme engine that uses Swift as it's base, so if you've already purchased Swift Theme, don't purchase Swift Theme Engine.
If you want to use Substratum, use Pie compatible themes and don't use Clean-Locksreen or Curve for now with this beta build.

Do you happen to know any theme that has centered clock and works with OB20? Ozone theme doesn't work with pie and I'm doubtful that it will get updated since the last update was months ago...
I really miss centered clock

You'll probably have to wait for Xposed to become available for Pie. Funny thing, on Oreo, everyone was asking for mods to put clock on left side, and now you want centered clock on Pie. Options, options, options, don't you love Android.

CM ROMs come with CMTE, which is the only absolutely stable Theme Engine in my opinion.
Substratum has never really worked well for me.

Which themes work on our 5t with substratum?

Since the relevant thread has recently been deleted, could people please share their theming set-up with substratum?
Would not only be interesting to know which themes you guys use but also which parts thereof (not) to activate given that bootloops seem to be only one false click away.
Thanks!
Swift Black saves pixels and looks awesome on this device. You'll need root to use substratum on Nougat but assuming you knew that already.

No, wasn't aware of this, thanks! I suppose it's advised to keep the oms section off given that it's not supported on oos? Is there any way to theme notifications black as well?

Never had reliable consistency with that in the past so I didn't both trying that with this phone. Everything themes black perfectly. I leave the SystemUI alone and let the notifications come in default white.
From my experiences with Substratum on this phone, leave SystemUI and Android system alone. All 3rd party apps can be themed. So for Swift Black what you might wanna do is theme the apps and then change the system theme internally in settings to dark and then you basically got the full theme

Substratum for Oreo Discussion thread & Share

Since most of the themers are leaving HTC, I thought it would be wise to create a Substratum forum for to share Ideas themes since most of it in Oreo is themable under substratum,
I am currently using Tilt theme from HTC Themes in combination of Substratum AOSPUI dark theme sharing some scrennshots

Battery was something I wondered about too. Using Substratum w Swift Dark...no battery hit at all.
The best thing about substratum is you get rid of the god awful white settings, HTC themes don't do that well none I found did.
The aospUI is the one I use myself too, it came up as a freebie not sure if it still is

Probably most of us go the root way for substratum that is the reason why probably no body hasn't answer your question, andromeda is only for a non rooted device or non rooted implementation of substratum
Leedroid (Google phone and messages support) w/ Swift Dark

With Andromeda, you need to run one of the scripts from the OP of this thread on your desktop any time you want to modify the Substratum theme on your phone
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/substratum/andromeda-desktop-clients-release-notes-t3668682
OR if you are rooted and still running Andromeda,
you can run the script from this thread in a terminal emulator on your phone, which is kinda nice

Only possibility to theme HTC dialer is using HTC theme engine. You could e.g. build your own dark HTC theme and combine it with a Substratum theme, to obtain dark dialer and dark statusbar as well as settings menu.

Same here. Email to Swift Dev, they said works ok on stock rom and they don't have Htc U11 phone so...basically is what it is. In Lee Rom he's using workaround APM and it works great w/o problem with Swift.
Actually I am on Leedroid rom v3.1.0

Me too on stock.. Just reflashed everything and tried.. But nothing worked
@JusThinK. Are you using another 3rd party app ???. I am on OOS 5.0.3 and there is nothing new compared OOS 4.*
No im rooted
Anyone have anything other than Awesome Navbars working? Be nice to add color to icons. Stock 5.0.3, rooted here.

Use substratum. Search play store for "substratum navbars" and pick any of them.
Substratum nav bar themes have never worked for me on this phone. I'm stock Oreo rooted without Andromeda. I tried the Awesome Navbar app, had to sideload it, it's not on the play store from what I can tell. The theme compiles correctly but nothing changes. Advice from those that got this to work?

substratum (andromeda) support for 5z on zenui

Hi, i have ocd with white system ui and would like to change it to dark mode. As our device is currently on 8.0 that means there is no system support builtin for theming.
I know zenui offers its own theming but lets be serious here , changing wallpaper and icons is not called theming.
Here in this thread i would like to know if anybody has tried andromeda support for rootless substratum theming on zenfone 5z. If yes, then how it works. Also would like to know if it would be bad option to go this way. Any other theming method suggestions are also welcome.
In past root had been my daily friend so i had no struggle with theming. Hope, that will be true here. Just waiting for development to settle.
Update : Ok so i went ahead and purchased andromeda for rootless substratum.
So far i have tried swift dark theme. I was able to theme most of the google apps but no success with system ui. I believe that it a drawback from asus that zenui is not OMS ready.
I will try bunch off other themes and see where i can get.
I did the same thing 2 days ago with the same results. Sucks. I also paid an tried another theme, same results, it's was Sai's Oreo dark. The Swift dark theme also crashed my Outlook from opening and affected other apps negatively as well.
Please let me know if you find one that changes the system UI a well!!!!
I am not sure about the system UI but I can get the Settings page to go dark using 'Dirty Dark' from Playstore. You guys can try that. Andromeda and substratum works fine for me. I also have swift black. It does the heavy lifting for me. I miss AOSP. I just don't see myself liking the zenUI. It lacks A little elegance for my taste.
Attaching a screenshot of the settings page.
