Guys m notificing serious idle drains like
I just charged my phone to 100% usd for few sec n then i kept my phone idel for an hour m battery was 92% hell no ..
Also same day at night battery was 88% i close data wifi n all n in morning it was 72%
Whats this something is draining my battery
Battery drain from 100% to 90%
I got this phone last month and yes it's happening here too. When I unplug the charger after 100%, it drops down to 95% in 10 minutes, then to 90 within a few more minutes.
After that it works fine. I've noticed the same 10% drain happening even if I don't charge it fully. Even if I charge 70%, it goes to 60% within half an hour.

I second this, been really frustrated about my battery from last update; been waiting for Pie patiently, hope that improves things and kicks in development.

So every night before sleeping I turn Data/ Wifi off, Past few nights ive noticed there has been a 12-15% drain in 8-9 hours.
Battery before sleeping 30%(data/wifi off)
Battery 9 hours later 15%
Stock 4.2.2
No Intense Background apps.
Is this normal ?? I don't think 4.1.1 had such battery drain with screen off and no data/wifi.
Thanks,
so u basically(roughly ) have 1% drop an hour? thats pretty damn good if you ask me
mine is usually 10 hours with intense use and 30 hours with minimal use eg: at work

That's normal at around 30% battery left. Once it reaches 30 and below it really would drain that much even without doing anything. But if you start with 95% percent and overnight drain of 15% with all off, then there is a problem somewhere. I usually have overnight drain of 3% for 8 hours.

Thanks for the reply buddy, 1.5% an hour seems higher, but as mrm43 said i think its the cause.

Thanks for your reply, I had a feeling about what you just said. But I don't recall this happening before, I could be wrong. Will charge up and test tonight and post results.
Also, I'm noticing my phone getting warm past 1 week while normal usage( Web surfin+music) area behind the camera.
So just to post back, I charged the phone upto 85% and turned off Data and Wifi, Woke up 8 and half hours later and the battery was 79%. Which is ok I guess, assuming only cell radio was on.
I was on root 4.1.2 and I removed it to upgrade to 4.3
Usually I drain my battery to 10% or so and then turn off my phone to charge it to full at least once a month. This time around it was different, the moment I plug in the charger the battery charge indicator jumps to 50% or so.
I unplugged it and turned on my phone and the % on the battery was 50%.
What was also weird was that the battery lasted as would at 50%
and it has been like that ever since as long as I charge my phone when turned off.
Charging with phone on isn't a problem.

running the 2/16 release of CM11, battery meter is acting funky, but battery life seems normal. I have no idea if it started with CM11 install or just out of the blue. couple week ago after 13 hours of running on battery I noticed the meter still said 100%, then about an hour later it said 52%, and 30 seconds later 12%, battery low warning, and 15 seconds later it did a clean power off. plugged in, powered off charging said 9%, and was 52% again in about 30 seconds.
battery still lasts all day, but I have no idea how drained it is until about an hour before it's dead. it also won't actually charge unless the meter says it's below 100%, but plugged in it also doesn't drain it more. using an app to monitor the battery, it rarely shows above 3850mv, and will hover there all day long going up and down 300mV or so, but then late in the day it'll break from 100% around 3700mv and the % starts dropping.
so, what's going on here?
so, left on charger overnight (as I do every night), status app said USB power on but discharging. came to work, plugged it in (as I sometimes do), battery said 100%, again USB power and discharging.
unplugged to go to lunch, 54%. sat down to eat, 65%. few minutes later, 70%. from there it started dropping at a normal rate. used it heavily all through lunch, only went to 58%, and seems to be charging normally now as well. I'm so confused... it's been wrong for at least 2 weeks strait through multiple charges and reboots.
What about 'calibrating' the battery?
if it does it again I'll to find time to drain it and then fully charge it powered off, but with an inaccurate reading of what the charge is it was very difficult to fit that into my schedule.
it seems to have calibrated itself now, as it's been fine all weekend.
so the questions is now: what caused it, and why did it fix itself some weeks later? I certainly didn't do anything anywhere near a calibration cycle.
Has anyone else noticed that 100% battery lasts much longer than any other percentage?
For example, last night I had my phone charging while I was watching TV and fell asleep. When I woke up a took my fully charged phone and went to bed while leaving it off the charger. I woke up five and a half hours later with the battery still at 100%. I then used it for 15 minutes of browsing before it finally dropped to 99%. However, if I had went to bed with less than 100% it would have drained probably 1-2% in the same amount of time with no usage at all. It almost seems like 100% is really only like 98% and it can actually be charged to more than 100%. After it drops to 99% the drain rate is pretty consistent.
I actually noticed this when I first got the phone almost a month ago and at first I thought there was a problem with the phone being stuck at 100% because it stayed there much longer than any other percent.
Anyone else see this? It doesn't really bother me since everything below 100% is very consistent. I'm just curious.
Same happens here. I listen to music (bluetooth to truck stereo) for about an hour everyday on the way to work. When I get there it still says 100% every day. Then after about an hour in my pocket doing nothing it magically says 96%. I have been suspecting that the on screen percentage is not registering the drop in power for a short while. But maybe I'm wrong.
I remember the Nexus 6p used to do that, haven't experienced it yet with my pixel though.

I have noticed that as well. Usually, my ~30 minute bus ride consists of my phone draining between 5% to 10%. But when I have the phone start from 100%, it's never drained beyond 5% by the end of it. Must have something to do with the fact that the phone charges slower when it reaches 80% or above (which they only claim to prolong battery health, not battery life). Eh, won't complain about it :fingers-crossed:
My Pixel 2Xl is running fully stock, up to date.
I find that after fully charging it, it drops the first 10-20% very quickly then stays at 80-85% for much longer, then it drains normally.
For example, after 20 mins of YouTube on 4G it dropped to 82% but then after leaving it for a while and then going on it again, I got another 35 minutes of YouTube on 4G before it dropped down to 81%.
Should I drain it to 0% and see if recalibrating the battery works?

You can do the recalibration. I think you've to drain it to 0 then charge to 100 and then do the want once more.
Or you can try to press the power button for 30 seconds or longer until you see the phone restart twice or thrice. You will feel it vibrating as well.
My pixel 2 xl too, but sot isn't affected
