Hi there, this is a cry for help post, since I am going insane trying to solve the Bluetooth connectivity issues between my Mi 5s and my car Bluetooth.
Info:
My phone is a Xiaomi Mi 5s, with unlocked bootloader and a Lineage 15.1 ROM with Gapps and the latest baseband firmware. (8.11.8)
The car system is a Renault Media Nav
The problem:
About 2 months ago my phone started having Bluetooth connection problems to my car without any apparent reason. To be more precise the phone pairs and connects to the multimedia system normally, (even displaying the phone battery and signal status), but there is no sound when playing music or when making calls. Moreover the car's interface fails to synchronize the contacts list, the call log and cannot initiate calls when dialing a number.
To save you the trouble I will numerate the actions I have taken to unsuccessfully solve or at least pinpoint what is causing the problem:
-I have deleted and re-paired both devices on both ends, countless times.
-Tried tweaking Bluetooth developer settings regarding AVCRP versions and sbc/aac codecs.
-I have paired the car with various other phones (Galaxy S4, Huawei P9, LG..) without any issues EXCEPT Xiaomi phones! (Mi 5s, Mi 8, Mi A2 lite)
-My Mi 5s (and Mi 8 and Mi A2 lite) connect to my Sony Bluetooth headset without any problem.
-I deleted WiFi/Bluetooth settings and Bluetooth Midi service Data
-Booted intro safe mode to rule out third party apps
-performed countless factory resets and Full wipes
-Tried different ROMs such as AEX, Pixel experience and MIUI latest Global Developer Rom
-The only circumstances under which the phone-car connection worked flawlessly was AFTER a fresh installation of Lineage os but BEFORE the "Last setup steps" was completed where I think that it updates to the latest Google play services. (Specifically from Play store version 12.1 to 12.7)
-It also worked fine when installing Lineage os WITHOUT Gapps!
Conclusion:
So it looks like the Google Play services update is causing the problem, which explains why the problem appeared our of the blue.
It also seems to affect all the Xiaomi phones I have tried!
Any thoughts? Anyone please?
Update: I managed to narrow down to the fact that everything is working fine until Google play services version 11.7. After the update is completed with the latest 14.7.99 the problem reappears imediately.
If it's Google play services it can only be some sort of security issue. Look in the changelog and see if they say anything about BT permissions etc.

Hi there, thank you for your reply!
I can't be sure it's Google Services, it just seems to be the only logical explanation I came up with, by ruling out everything else I could think of, with the actions I described.
It also seems to affect at least 2 more xiaomi models (Mi 8, and Mi A2 lite) which is quite weird isn't it? Is it possible that a Google Services bug affects various Xiaomi models of different hardware, and ROM? (Linage, MIUI, Android One)
Sorry if this a noob question, but do you mean the Google play services changelog? Because I wasn't able to find one online.

Hi all,
I'm having problems keeping my Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100) in contact with my Pebble Time Steel and other Bluetooth devices. It appears to be related to the Bluetooth LE function in Android 4.3, as discussed at androidpolice.com/2014/05/20/bug-watch-bluetooth-will-begin-crashing-after-encountering-too-many-ble-devices-affects-kitkat-4-4-and-jelly-bean-4-3/ (sorry, can't post link because I'm new here).
Basically the Note keeps a list of all the Bluetooth IDs that have ever connected to it, and that list has a limited size. Once it's full, the Bluetooth program keeps crashing (and disconnecting my Bluetooth devices), with the message "Unfortunately Bluetooth Share has stopped." until I reboot the phone. That helps for a few hours, but then it starts again. Lately I've just kept Bluetooth off.
I've tried the Bluetooth Crash Resolver app by Radius Networks, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I understand that the latest official Android firmware released by Samsung for the Note 2 (4.4.2) still has this bug. According to the page I linked, the bug was fixed in Cyanogen 10.2 and its descendants.
So I guess I get to dip my toe into the exciting world of Note 2 mods. In the first instance, I'd like to get something pretty much the same as the Samsung Touchwiz experience I'm using now, just with the Bluetooth bug fixed. But even with mods that include Touchwiz stuff, how do I know whether they have fixed the Bluetooth bug?
Thanks in advance,
Buzko

Hello Luis2k17,
Hope You Are Doing Good.
Yes, People Are Facing Lots Of Problem After Updating To Android PIE 9.0.
Known Issues Are Given Below:-
Bluetooth Issue
Wifi Speed Issue
Voice Call Quality Issue
Call Recording Issue
Signal Drop Issue ETC ETC...
If You Are Satisfy With Mentioned Above Problem Then Go Ahead And Update To Android PIE 9.0
Greetings.
Thanks,
MUHAMMAD Asif Qasim
If you like using Gcam then no it is not worth it.
If you choose to stay on oreo, dont forget to disable in developer option, "automaticly install updates when reboot".
My phone upgraded to the March update, I have had none of the issues listed above, poor speech quality was fixed with this update. I don't use Gcam but believe that is an issue. If you upgrade, you can always revert to Oreo using Miflash tool.
I haven't had any problem when I updated to 9. I here there is a gcam for 9 now.but I'm custom ROM.but it seemednlike on 9 my data was faster

The experience per users are different. Here's mine though.
Have this phone shipped with Oreo too, when I launch phone app everytime I'll make a call, I felt like it's slow AF, even I have the phone app updated. Then I haven't that much of the experience of Oreo version because of that.
And when I updated it to Pie version immediately after we (my family) bought this phone, for above reason, with February patch, the launch of the phone app (and almost all apps installed in this phone) seems faster than what was in Oreo. However, as other users said, there are issues: one of which is the WiFi/Bluetooth bug which the WiFi speed tend to go slow when connected to Bluetooth, and if it is connected to BT Audio, the audio/music/sound tend to stutters within 4 meters away from BT Audio equipment; GCam ports tend to have problems on focus (though it's partially fixed when you set GCam to 16:9 resolution). But so far, I'm still fine with it (and all good despite having these issues, at least it's not bricked, unlike its big brother, the Mi A2).
Here's the pick: If you're contented to what's on Oreo (plus better GCam handling and better WiFi) then stay with it. Otherwise, you can update it to Pie but with said issues.
Background: looking to "upgrade" my aging dual-sim global travel Huawei Honor 5X (BL unlocked running custom "Pie" ... ha ha) and ended up with A2 Lite (3G/32GB model - decided against the 4G/64GB) - tossed in a 64GB mSD for plenty of video storage & photos, using this as a backup & should be mostly on WiFi (5Ghz whenever possible, less congested ...) << would've gone for the A2 with bigger 6" + screen but a 4,000 mAh battery of the A2 Lite flipped the coin toss >>
Out of the box is Oreo - updated to mid 2018 and gone thru the updates, stopping just short of Pie, after installing my Apps & ran it, everything stable & smooth. Camera isn't a big deal, everything as expected & much faster & responsive compared to the Honor 5X, as good as my primary ... Motorola Moto X4 with 4G/64GB on Google "Fi" software channel, ran Oreo on it & updated since to Pie. Passed along my Moto G6 (3G/32GB) Fi variant (no NFC) to spouse with an integrated battery case (3,600 mAh + 4,000 mAh external ... "yes")
In short, I had plenty of competitive comparison - over AT&T, T-Mobile, Fi and also Ting & FreedomPop (both MNVO) networks, also while roaming abroad in Mexico & the Caribbeans recently ... just not with the new A2 Lite. I make good use of VoIP and WiFi calling, Duo/G.Voice/Hangouts but not much over WhatsApp or WeChat or FB Messenger. Whether it's on Oreo or Pie, pretty much not expecting to ever get WiFi calling enabled on AT&T or T-Mobile, but, not having Android Auto to work in our new Hyundai Sonata (2019) is not "happy" - and, AA is a problem with G6 and X4, tried all the "solutions" without rooting, as I wanted Google Pay to work on the X4 for mobile payment, sometimes.
Earlier this week, I decided - after taking precautions & making backups - upgraded A2 Lite to Pie, let it rebooted & settled down, check for more Apps updating, etc. Well, I am satisfied and happy, no problems with WiFi or LTE signals, as fast as it should be & benchmarked it with the other devices above - it's all good. My "happy dance" is with Android Auto, it worked the first time I tried and was in a hurry, it connected & Google Map is now projected onto the car's 7" touch-screen ... just couldn't get it to work on the G6 or X4 stock roms. Of course, Apple's CarPlay worked easily in the Hyundai with an iPhone SE running iOS 12.1.x
Being Android One, minimal to few bloatware (Xiaomi's bundle) is great - just switched to LawnChair v2.x launcher, so I can tweak the homescreen & lockscreen a little more. Battery life, especially on standby on WiFi is great - those are my thoughts ... I will update/amend this as necessary with any findings.
Hope this help to those using this in the Americas ...
I've updated with OTA stable update and it's seemed to mess things up. Now I can't attach attachments in any app, open dual apps, it comes up with complete action using and it's blank. It seems to make the phone useless now.
Even when trying to send things it doesn't want to attach it
I too have big problems after updating to Android 11 on the Global Mi10T Pro., but it's version 12.1.1.xxx for me.
Apps like GMail, Maps etc work ok. Many others like Chrome, Brave etc just hang. Gestures no longer work. Settings is unreliable.
PC Suite won't connect - it says I need to update my device.
I wonder whether I have to try a Factory Reset - but that's a pain with no proper backup of all the apps and their state.
EEA version 12.1.2.0 - CRAP!!!
@madnlooney: enable MIUI optimizations in developer options and you will solve problems.
My bugs: at once part of touchscreen where green phone is (for answering calls) just stops working. And it is not working in any app, in screen test app.... until reboot. And it happens randomly... I think this will be my last xiaomi device. I had mi max 3 for over 2 years without resets and stuff, worked like a charm (eu rom). I broke screen (waiting new screen atm).
additional problem (happened on previous versions): mobile data just stop working. I have to turn it off and than on again. I am using both SIM slots (private+work).
Now i have big problem with this since i am on a business trip outside my country and I have problems with phone (and factory reset is out of options, since I have AND USE bank app (among others - work apps), so no go). When I return I will ditch it and buy other brand...
This phone had problems on Android 10 and has problems now too. between mi max3 and this i had poco x3nfc and had problems with it too - I think xiaomi cant keep up with huge amount of models that puts to market.
has anyone maybe some solution to my problems?

Custom roms. Most of the apps will work out of the box if you don't root your device. Few of the banking apps that don't work can be solved with magiskhide...
Thanks, bit as I mentioned, not possible ATM, I cant open bootloader and I dont have access to bank, since i am >1500km out of my country.
Considering that is 2021, it looks like i am ditching xiaomi (after 7 years).

If we enable that, how to install split apk files? is there a solution for that too?
dual apps are miui thing, nothing to do with miui optimization
Well, EEA version 12.1.2.0 - is CRAP indeed!!!
It has been a childish attempt like: Hurray we are on android 11 too...!!!
First, they have not checked the main feature of a phone... To make and end Phone calls....
The "end" button does not respond sometimes. Randomly.
I've seen this reported in several discussions and no response from support.
Second, after the update to 12.1.2.0 SECOND SPACE broke..!!
The option to add and remove files disappeared.
A bad surprise, as the only option given, for the data you had saved in second space is to DELETE..
The import export option for files just vanished.
We can only hope that Miui 12.5 will make the Mi 10t Pro a descent Phone as it is an excellent hardware.
What I hate with this v12 is, (not sure if it was same with the previous ones) to be forced to use the mi search. If someone knows how to revert it back to Google search, will be greatly appreciated.
And if any Xioami staff or responsible seeing this message, i need to tell this. ’I don't have to use your crappy search *hit, and noone can force me to do something for a device I paid for. You have all the stupid ’features' and ads in a single thing. And the recommendations, ohh, will make me vomit...
Before you recommend me what to search for, let me recommend you something first. Go and learn why Google is doing the best with keeping the apps pure and simple. When I want to search for the best wines to drink for dinner, you're forcing me to see the turtle copulation video. What a smart software.
As I said before, if someone can help me to delete this useless app to the ground, will appreciate a lot.
Hello,
i just switched to a pixel 7 pro with android 13 and the sync with the Health app is not working (HUAWEI WATCH 3). Not even notifications and phone calls.
Has anyone solved the problem?
I have already tried to install the official versions of Health and HMS, and also the latest ones found on apkmirror but none of them work.
Thank you
Hi, same problem here.
Any solution?
Aa looks I'm not alone, I just spend 6 hours in support on huawei and Google but non of them can't help. I thing they even didn't know there is issue.
Have same problem with watch 3 pro.
But watch gt 3 pro works fine but on that is just rename d liteOs to Harmony Os.
Watch 3 pro has real Harmony OS that I thing will some issue with permission. It's just my guess but I hope someone find solution. I try it last 3 days to play around it.
Looks watch 3 and watch 3 pro (real harmony OS) has this issue.
Ps: more wierd is i gotalso pixel 6 pro and there watch 3 pro works completely fine, no issue at all.
I have the Same Problem no found the Failire at the monent
Same here. Please let us know if there's any info on this.
Mine doesn't get notifications with Pixel 7 Pro either
When do we think we will get a fix? I'd say never.
I have decided to sell off my 3 Pro. I think Google are making sure Huawei Watches don't function fully on Pixel Phones.
I'm facing the same issue with my huawei watch.
Exactly the same here. Pixel Pro 7, Huawei Watch 3 Pro, tried everything multiple times thinking i must be missing something. No notifications to the watch at all- calls, texts, alarms. Continuous heartrate and Sp0 won't work now. And watch won't sync. Sucks. Also have issues with viewing website imbedded video in auto-rotated landscape, and my CCTV cameras in landscape on the Pixel( Reolink and Camhi).
So i assume the watch is 1st issue, and the phone is 2nd issue. How annoying.
Anyone found any solution yet?
I realized my heart rate and spo2 levels also don't sync with my pixel 7 pro. Skin temperature, stress level and sleep records sync without any issues.
I went into watch settings and allowed each and every permission one by one.
No notifications whatsoever! I regret the day I bought this watch. And because of this, I will not be buying any otherr Huawei watch. It's a shame because I really like their watches.

Nah I tried all that too. I'm just assuming Google don't like Huawei anymore due to all the bans and stuff. I've just ordered a Ticwatch Pro 3 ultra instead whilst they're on sale. Hopefully that'll work ok using Wear OS.

I understand google not allowing their softwares on Huawei products but restricting people's choices of hardware is over the top.
I also believe Huawei is extremity slow in updating their softwares. Their watch was working fine with pixel 6 from what I see online. But Pixel 7 uses Android 13 and I believe Huawei Health and HMS Core doesn't yet support Android 13. We are also yet to see Huawei Pay in UK! I've paid good money for the watch not long ago and I can't see myself spending extra to buy another brand! I'll claim my free Pixel Watch soon but reviews doesn't look too good!
Same issue faced here. GT runner on both pixel 7 and oneplus 9R (Android 13 beta). I think Android V13 might not allow apps those are not from PLAY STORE to have the permission. Here's my workaround with a fresh start:
1. Install "Huawei Health" at the PLAY STORE (very old version)
2. Grant the permission in the system settings
3. Install "Huawei Health" at the Huawei website
4. Connect Huawei watch to the phone
Now your sync permission is still there. Btw, I dont know whether you can get the permission back if you cancel it now

This works.
Pixel 7 pro with android 13 cloned from Huawei P20 pro,
Huawei Watch 3 Pro.
Huawei Health app offered me an update and after I agreed it downloaded an .apk file. After the update, I deleted the pairing of my Huawei Watch 3 Pro with my old phone and started a new pairing, the watch generated a QR code. I ran a scan in Huawei Health and the pairing was successful. There is a problem, pairing breaks in watch ultra long battery life mode. This worked with the p20.
I saw Huawei released a new update for the Huawei Health application. Version: 13.0.0.320. Does anyone know if this solves the issue with Android 13? If not, I will wait with updating. Cheers!

This didn twork with pixel 7 pro and watch 3 pro.
Actually there is no issue with permission, watch just not have sync from phone. I can go to contact also use Internet through Bluetooth, but watch didnt have info permissions from app of continuous measurement or update weather or show notifications etc.
Looks like some share info missing or they didn't have.
Unfortunately pixel monthly update didn't fix this. Hope will app update soon to fix this.
Ps: my GT3 pro works completely fine, must be watch 3 series issue real harmony OS.
GT3 series use LiteOS renamed to Harmony OS.
Has there been any updates to the Hauwei health app to fix this problem?
I have the same problem , and i'm still lo0king for a solution.
I have been looking round the net & wondered if the problem was an out of date HMS Core software.
Has anyone updated to the latest HMS Core & then tried and see if notifications come through & phone calls?
on android 13 apps that are not in the latest play store will have limited permissions, just like huawei health ... take a look at this Youtube video
, a solution for that , and it worked on my huawei smart watch,.... for HMS which always crashes on android 13 use this version https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/huawe...ces/huawei-mobile-services-6-0-0-305-release/

But does this fix the notification & phone call problems with the Watch 3 Pro & Android 13?
Apparently, weirdly this phone comes with no always on display OOTB.
Some Xiaomi phones are like that.
This is a serious con for me. I ordered it before knowing this, but it's not big enough an issue to cancel or pay 100€ more for Pro.
Is there a way to somehow enable this?
Does Xiaomi EU have this usually on phones that don't have it in stock MIUI?
I don't have this device but according to this link, there is.
Xiaomi Eu rom adds 'always' option.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/13fo0ix
At Redmi Note 10 pro there was the same problem. But it was fixable by downgrading the com.miui.aod App. I have already tried over 10 different versions, but without success.
You mean you have tried 10 different versions of that app on this phone?
Have you tried disabling miui optimizations in the developer settings?
Apparently this also worked on some xiaomi devices.
People say doing that causes bugs but I had it disabled for the last 4 years and have not noticed anything except slow (but still working) Gmail attachments (yes, it's weird but those are connected, somehow).
