Hi, I got this device a little over 5 months ago and I want to make some ROMs for it. I would like to see what roms you would like on the A5 2017. The title says all, please respond to the topic only.
Rules:
1. Keep it clean
2. I don't think I am going to port some crazy TW Pie ROM, I do not specialize in TouchWiz ROMs anymore so please go ask corsicanu or someone else for that.
3. PM me if you want to ask me about something, do not respond to this thread; keep it clean as I said before.
Thank you for all your future replies.

i'd dig a STABLE resurrection remix oreo rom with almost no bugs that has quick charge, voLTE/4G+,and phone, camera, bluetooth/nfc, 5ghz wifi and everything else. But please make it fully compatible with the oreo modem and bootloader!
even Lineage os would be great!
OneUi Port
resurrection remix oreo rom
First of all, thank you for your opinions.
As of now, I will be working on RR Oreo.
Now there already is a RR Oreo thread, which makes me a bit skeptical because he could report my future thread. I will look deeper into the bugs of the current RR Oreo and make mine from Lineage sources and try to fix bugs one by one. Also, I don't think of porting TW ROMs anytime soon because the A5 lacks AOSP ROMs rather than TW ROMs.
Thank you for your ideas.

No problem here.
Why should we fight if we can help each other?
We have some stock roms but none of them support Volte which is a big thing for a lot of users , if u can fix that in AOSP roms that would be amazing....and it would be great to have more developers in this community.

Paranoid will be nice to have.
Aosp!! It is very stable. Please.

A pie based RR would be great. Obviously after the LOS pie is a bit more stable.

No, thank you. The latest version released is Marshmallow and you can't really "hack" with it as you may think.
How about lineage OS 16 with all bugs fixed? That will be an interesting ROM. Please consider working on it.

Thanks for replying. Sounds great! Has he released the ROM or is it in the developmental phase? I wish I could locate his XDA account and look for myself.

Bro .. if it is stable and works everything fine every ROM is good to develop with other UI interface. As you see there is lot of bugs in 7.1.1 builds like battery draining issue, mobile hotspot, call network drop

I m a MM user... I think most of those who loves xposed are still using some MM ROM ... I am one of them... I try New Nougat ROMs but revert in couple hours as i miss xposed... So Any new MM ROM will sure stay longer in my phone, than any N Rom... And if its good.. I would happily switch to ur MM ROM as my daily driver...
I m sure Your work will be as much appreciated as of any Nougat ROM Developer..
Yes mm roms r far better then nougat roms....bcz they hv grr battery life and more stble thn n

Still waiting
the question is actually on the title.
I had and still have my LG G2 and after many many roms flashed, this was the best in my opinion.
Fast, Stable, with ota updates weekly, very user friendly, with plenty options to customize your device and make it unique.
I've seen there is a team working for mi mix.
and to be honest i hope to see meanwhile aicp rom on my MI 6.
So if there someone already on the job keep up the good work.
If not just think on that.
Hey it is out.
Im running it with dbt

No, there is more activity on the acip for Mi6 so it actually runs much better than the Linage rom that is posted.

flash OOS - OPEN BETA android 8.0 its very stable or flash AOSPA
Try AOSPA extended <3
Like already said, Oreo ROMs are in beta at best. Some are maybe good enough to be daily drivers, but they aren't polished yet.
As far as Nougat goes, use whatever floats your boat, it's always down to personal preference. By now pretty much all Nougat ROMs are good, choose one based on features that you want/like. OOS-like camera performance can be achieved on most ROMs by using the camera port. AOSPA uses its own camera blobs so it isn't exactly the same as OOS, but it's also very good, arguably even better.

For me Oreo Oos works fine. But i don't use pay, GPS, for example.

Yes I did and there is no resurrection remix for this phone or viper rom. Plus if there is a ROM out most likely the developer will not relic it.
Most of the Roms for those phones are all final stage Nougat ROMs. There is no Res Remix Oreo yet for any phone. "RR v5.8.5 is the final Nougat build. This is the last update for Android 7.1.2 Nougat and after this you will only receive 8.X Oreo builds. Custom ROM maintainers like Lineage and Paranoid, have already declared final Nougat updates."

I for one would daily drive RR Nougat if someone ported it to OP5T. All the Oreo ROMs have the Bluetooth bug (connections unreliable), and a charging bug when trying to use Android Auto. Until we have official Oreo, those bugs won't be worked out. I hate all stock ROMs.

You are right on that one but for some odd region RR developers from the op5 have quit on there projects so they will probably not being it to the op5t. Said but true. Wish I new how to make a ROM and would make one that's new and exciting with everything RR has to offer plus new things. I also would like to find out a way to mod the op5t to support the 600mhz band that T-Mobile has for there LTE now. My op5t does not work in some places because its not activated on the chip for 600mhz but it does support it.
RR Oreo is coming soon and will most definitely be available for the 5T.
Guys also keep in mind a lot less people updated to the 5t from the others. Most were not falling for that again.
Plus 8.x is a big change so lots of work going into it. Then the whole rebase needed from 8.0 to 8.1.
Check out the Google+ community, Varun just posted a screen of RR Oreo on the 5T. ?

Nah, device-specific functions like FP gestures don't work out of box. Someone posted somewhere on our forums flashable zip for GSI's to make that function work. It's fresh thread, saw it today. I only did quick GSI test but everything else seems to work just fine.
I'm going to fully test one of these treble ROMs in upcoming days but actually I'm thinking which one should I flash.

Yep and I was frustated while testing it. I can't recommend using official GSI version since it was broken and horrible experience. Even simple things like changing accent colour, theme was not working properly. I encountered some irritating bugs that just pissed me off which leaded me to instant ROM change. And I was not the only one. The biggest flaw was that I couldn't register my device to use google services properly. Even if I managed to get certification it was just gone after couple of minutes. Not saying about SafetyNet because passing it wasn't even possible.
I don't know how's the current state but I recommend to use Fullbustah's P2 version if you want have most stable RR experience.
I should have screenshots of what I experienced with that GSI somewhere, I will try to find them tommorow.
