Is it possible to root redmi note 8 without pc and twrp recovery?
I don't think it's possible yet, just to unlock the bootloader you need a computer and you need to wait 2 weeks, the installion of TWRP or another recovery cannot be done without a computer others like root or Xposed need a custom recovery to be installed.

if you have an unlocked bootloader then you might wanna try the official twrp app or flashify app(can't say for sure though if it works or not)..if you don't have an unlocked bootloader then straight answer - NO..why??read above reply.
Hello guys, I knew yesterday that Android 10 finally came out for Redmi Note 8, however for now the china version is the only one available, flashable via UPDATE.APP, right?
That's my question: I'm currently on stock Android 9, but with unlocked bootloader and root with MAGISK.
If I do the update to Android 10, will the bootloader be locked again? Will I be able to unlock again? And I guess I'll lose root too, will be possible to root with Magisk?
Thanks in advance

Just clean flash rom through recovery+flash magisk that's all. Backup everything before flashing. After flashing if reboot redirects to recovery then simply format data partition and reboot again.

i think you can not update this with update app, this update is only for beta tester
you can clean flash it with recovery, if you do this you lose everything along root, data, pictures etc
if you just want miui 12, you also can try eumiui 12 beta with Android 10 or wait for global stable
whatever you choose to do you can not lock your bootloader again even if you select it in mi flash tool you will just brick your device and, bricked device is bigger problem than locked bootloader
Wait for the official OTA update
Hello,
I would like to root my Mi Max 3. The bootloader is already unlocked. Can I just flash the magisk-patched-boot.img or do I need to do something first?
Background
I've just switched from a P30 Pro to a Xiaomi 13 Pro, I've never rooted a phone in my life.
I loathe the operating system, it doesn't let me open links in the applications that I want to link them in (I'm trying to open Reddit links in an external app and it will not work no matter what I do, just goes to Chrome or the default Reddit app), the game program doesn't let me swipe the taskbar down to view messages, the notch hiding feature doesn't work.
I don't know how much of this is down to MIUI and how much is down to Android updates but it's terrible. This kind of restriction is exactly what I was hoping to avoid. There hasn't been a single thing I've seen so far that represents and improvement.
Specs
CPU - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform Octa-core Max 3.19GHz
Android version - 13 TKQ1.220905.001
MIUI version - MIUI Global 14.0.22, also listed is 14.0.22.0(TMBEUXM)
Model - 2210132G
Network is Vodafone
Any more specs needed to answer any of these let me know.
Questions
1. Is it possible to root it?
2. If I root this thing is there a way to install the OS from my previous phone, or some other OS that can easily be customised?
3. If it is possible to root it, how do I do it? I assume there's some guide.
4. If I attempt to root it, is it easy to reset it if I **** it up? I had a horrible experience with bricking a PSP trying to root that about 15 years ago and I'm loathe to repeat it.
First thing to do to root or install roms.
Unlock bootloader

Thanks. So is there any real advantage to doing it at this point?

Xiaomi Eu rom passes safetynet and has the playstore certified without root, if you root it will no longer be the case and will have to use zygisk+Safetynet module.

You have an EEA stock rom for Europe or a Xiaomi Eu rom.
No need for TWRP to root.

I have the EEA Stock Rom of Xiaomi.
I unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP . but after a restart;
I get the error message you phone can't be trusted there is a corruption been occurred. Press the powerbutton to continue but then black screen? But then is all black.. Phone is not normall booting into the phone OS.
I will relock and reflash back to EEA, and try it again.
