Why there is so much build for Mi6 on LineageOS? - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

Lately I'm getting update notification at every night, first i thought there was an error on server or something else then I decided to check website for updates and surprised because really there was a lots of builds in changelogs without any changes. I mean there is nothing new en every build I don't get it, if nothing changed then why there is a new build and why every night I'm getting new update notification?

That's called nightly building and mi 6 got to that recently. It's nothing bad and at the same time it doesn't guarantee and user visible changes to be done in each build. So you may prefer to update once in a few days or a week, or if you don't care that much, once a month for security updates etc.. However you like.
In short, it's okay.

Help with OTA Updates

Hi All. I haven't done much with my N7 2013 LTE in a while. But tonight I thought I'd go ahead and update to M. To my surprise when I checked for OTA it told me my system was up to date. I'm not even in the latest 5.1.1 build. Any idea why I wouldn't be able to update?
Yes, if you are rooting, sys patching or modding, you're saying goodby to OTA.
No problem really.

Yeah. I'm aware of all that. This system is stock. I kinda put it on the back burner when I got my S5 and starting modding that. This one has me puzzled. There's no reason it shouldn't take an OTA.
Distributor network issue?.

Tried via WiFi and Cell. This isn't a unit that was bought from TMO. I just use them for the 200 MB a month. I bought it from BB. TBH I just want to update through the latest version of 5.1.1. Right now I'm stuck on LMY48U. Does all this look right?

Many people actually regret OTA update and before you proceed please check your eMMC chip.

I have it installed since a day. It's Cyanogen OS 13.1 with changed phone app (I like this one better!), and Skype integration (you can remove this app), new Lockscreen mods, Microsoft Hyperlapse option in Camera app. Maybe One Note and Cortana integration, but only maybe in some countries (not here in Netherlands). Also Android security patch from july.
I'm sure there are some other changes or bug fixes. I'm not a big fan of all this Microsoft crap, but in general I'm sure some will appreciate the changes.
downloaded the update but can't flash it with twrp. can't even locate it on the phone memory.
Anyone knows where it might be stored?
Thanks

How can I manually upgrade the Security Patch? (I want to upgrade to 7.1.1)

I just went back to android from iOs and I'm suuuuper lost with all of this
I just saw this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/how-to/official-android-7-1-1-download-how-to-t3616352
but I have the FEB 1 security patch, and my device is xt1635 (ATT MX)
I can't understand anything about software channel or anything, I'm super lost...
What should I do to upgrade to 7.1.1 ? I'm uploading here two screenshots and if someone can help me, it would be great.

Don't worry, typically Google will but out a monthly security update for nexus and pixel devices(Google product) OEM on occasion put out an ota that includes the security update.
For the average user the security updates really aren't necessary.
I have never had any kind of malware on Android.

Looks like cosmetic changes only. Not bothering with the rooting song & dance because of that. Call me again when we get Pie (guess I'll already have a new phone before that happens).

You are an insult to my country
I had several issues with that update after the installation (themes, authorizations, grid layout). I was able to solve most of them but now my biggest issue is that the battery drains way faster than before. With the 10.0.2.0 version I had around 6 or 7 hours of SOT. Now i'm only at 5 at most.

For me its same for battery and performance. Just few minor UI changes I noticed after update.

June SMR - June 26

As of now Fido has the SMR set for June 26.
I'm pretty satisfied with their update schedule so far.
That's 3 weeks after Google's own products got it.
Just glad I didn't get the G7 thinq!
Anyway, the rest of the links for update schedules are in another thread I posted previously.
Happy Friday.
