One ui beta - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I wasn't able to participate in the beta program because Samsung sucks of course. However, I would still like to get my hands on the software, does anyone have a link where I can download and install with Odin or anything similar. By the way I have the Exynos Galaxy S9

Root to with custom rom fixes 60%?

Im using N930W8 the canadian variant of the note 7. I just recieved the 60% update while phone auto update disabled sitting on my desk. I need to know if there is a method to root the canadian variant and if it will fix the problem of the battery cap if I run a custom ROM. Note 7 Problem - please help if you can, please
Hello
I am newbie here with no proper experience [ I flashed mobile with success once but it was years ago with NOKIA e90!]
I have Note 7 exynos UK VODAFONE and I did flashed it with older OEM firmware [ to bring it back to 100% battery], I downloaded from sammobile than recent one on my mobile [ limited 60% battery]
I unchecked re-partition
I used AP file there
all went fine with ODIN v3.11.1 all pass !
but once mobile started I have big message on my screen which does not disappear [ see attached photo]
unfortunately, the process
com.android.phone stopped
I can click/press OK on screen below that message, but it reappears again and again
I tried to flash it again but now ODIN says fail and something about PIT [see attached photo]
I would appreciate some help or tell me what steps I should take [ apart of surrendering phone to place I bought it from!!!]
regards

I think I just found the reason why you got downgraded to previous firmware, it is because in Korea they are using same bootloader for all updates. I have SM-N930FD and they have different bootloader for previous and updated firmware.
Thank you for your help.

I have attached previous and latest korean firm ware and UAE previous and latest firmware.
I highlighted the difference. Korean firmware using same 1BP bootloader/ security patch in every korean firmware but in UAE Firmware oldest have 1BP bootloader/security patch and latest firmware have 2BP bootloader/ security patch so once you are updated to 2BP you can not down grade to 1BP but if you are at 1BP you can Install 1BP or upgrade to 2BP.
I have SM-N930FD and upgraded to 2BP so i am unable to downgrade 1BP patch firmware.
I am not good in explaining but hope you will understand what i am trying to say.LOL.
Yes 100% i do understand what you trying to say.
I thought is same for all Note 7

Yes root is possible. Check out partcyborgs rom or jrkruse roms.

If your flashing the root ROM it will fail, it states that in the thread. Read all the steps in the ROM post ad they are very specific
I just rooted my 8+ thanks to Rootjunky.com from one of his videos on youtube, I'm still on Verizon and I didn't have to flash any ROM, just some files and boom.

The PartCyborg rom comes with Xposed pre-installed. It is working fine for me, but I am not using too many modules. Good reports on Partcyborg's ROM thread though.
Yes, you can unroot and flash back to stock.

You need prince comsy ODIN.
Look here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...root-partcyborgrom-aqk3-samfail-odin-t3717702
Follow the instructions in the first post of the thread. Follow them verbatim. Read carefully before you start.
Use the BQL1 downloads in the second post of the thread.
This is what I did and it worked fine. I flashed both in COMSY ODIN. I did not use the Flashfire method, but I have used it before and it also works. If you do use Flashfire for the AP file (First file) be sure to flash the bootloader (second file) in COMSY ODIN..

I recommend that you use the downloads in the second post, not the third. The bootloop edition is an older version. The latest works better. The latest that ends with BQL1 is compatible with your phone because both are based on bootloader version 2.
If you want to have a backup of your stock firmware you can download the BRB1 firmware from updato or from samsung. I find updato to provide much faster downloads, but sometimes it is a bit strange finding the firmware you want. You can usually search by phone and service provider.

[DISCONTINUED][Root][SM-G955U/U1][SM-G955W][Snapdragon][V6_Bootloader][EDL_Method]

Root Method For S8+ SM-G955U/U1 Found Here
[Root][SM-G955U/U1][SM-G955W][Snapdragon][V5_Bootloader][EDL_Method][Safestrap]
Rooted Nougat RomThis is last nougat rom made for S8 it is prerooted with flashfire and safestrap preinstalled. It has CSC stuff for all carriers added. Its debloated slightly with knox removed. Some stuff may not work but im not sure as I cannot test but this stuff may include fingerprint and or face recognition. If stuff doesnt work it probably related to using pie modems and non-hlos on a nougat rom which you have no choice.
Downloads
Rooted_G95*USQS3BRB1.rar
BL_G955_NOUGAT_V7.tar.7z
Includes Fingerprint and Face Unlock fix for above nougat rom. Just flash in BL slot in odin after everything else
Safestrap-4.10-B03-DREAMQLTE-PIE.zip Will boot straight to safestrap only for pie roms
Safestrap-4.10-B03-DREAMQLTE-NOUGAT.zip Will Give you the safestrap splash screen on boot
Directions
Safestrap Method
1. Extract system.img from the Rooted_G95*USQS3BRB1.rar and copy to phone reboot to safestarp and flash system image reboot to download and flash BL_G955_NOUGAT_V7.tar.md5 in odin
2. If coming from pie rom you will have to flash Safestrap for nougat zip to keep from bootlooping into safestrap

If you are using root no. There is no fix this is implemented by Samsung in the kernel we need for 7.0 root. If you flash Oreo or pie then it's not present as they use different kernels. It's not a issue. It's a safety feature implemented and I get as much if not more sot than 100% charges.

Im just jumping in here so don’t know if this pertains but you can not copy a file larger than 2.5 gigs while booted too safestrap that is just the limitations of safestrap so if copying system images the phone needs to be booted to the rom or you need to pull out sdcard and manually copy to it then place back in phone

We barely have a stable official Xposed for Oreo.... Let alone Pie.. as far as I know, we have no way of installing any form of Xposed on Pie. At least on this device because of our locked BL etc etc etc... I don't even know if anyone has developed an Xposed that works on Samsung devices for pie, but I do know there is a forked Xposed for Pie floating around but obviously it's not an official update from Rovo himself because like I said, we barely have an official Xposed for Oreo.

Dongrade to android pie ?

Hello,
Is it possible to downgrade a note 10 plus from android Q to android pie?
If yes, how can I do that ?
Thanks
Yes as long as bootloader is the same as the Pie your downgrading to. Download the firmware, extract it, use patched Odin to flash it. You can get the firmware for whatever model you have from Frija

I downgraded successfully without a patched Odin and the pie and 10 bootloaders are the same in USA at least. Simple Odin flash and was back to lovely Pie in no time!

Are the Odin firmwares available already or do we have to wait?

Been awhile since I used samsung, so I'm just checking.
If I get the verizon model, I understand it will be locked to verizon. But I'd still prefer the clean(er) unlocked firmware. Can I flash that straight away or does it have to be "leaked" or whatever in the coming months?

You don't need to be rooted, just Odin the official ROM.
Been awhile since played with Samsung but does device need to be unlocked for Odin? I.E Sprint model flashed to generic?
