Didn't take long from the announcement for me to get the new OTA.

I don't know if it's placebo effect but it definitely feels snappier than the previous one. It also fixed an issue both my friend and I had after the last update; rotating your wrist now actually turns on the watch on the first try.
Waiting to charge to 80% to install mine, popped up as soon as I got home.
Anyone know if resetting the watch/redownloading android wear app forces update like we thought it did with the last update?

Just tried it. It worked for me last time but not this time. I guess I need to be more patient
Is the winning watch face on this update?

Shame there is no easy way to force an update.
I just got my new 360 today, software automatically updated- still not the new version, lol.
Showing the version as "Up to date"...
My most awaited feature is that notification hiding with dismissal. Can't wait to receive the OTA.
waiting patiently for the OTA too!
Got the OTA this morning.
There's a new Play music button just above Settings.
Bluetooth devices menu in Settings, probabli in preparation for 2.0 headset support.
Notification hiding works ok. UI seems a bit smoother.
Rotating the wrist to wake also seems more sensible.
Can't comment on battery yet.
Rooted Users
For those that are rooted, was root intact? and if not were you able to re-root after the update?
Not sure what's going on here appears to be downloading something then errors out. I went to check updates btw.

Nexus 5 + Lollipop no update as well (UK)
I performed a reset and the update was available. It was not available before reset.
Improved battery life is already very noticeable. I run stock faces.

what does having L on your device have to do with a firmware update on your watch?
Any news about the latest update ? 1.4 ? why is huawei so slow in this direction
I know I should just let this go unanswered but I can't help myself. You talk about Huawei being slow, what other manufacturer has released 1.4? Who do you think develops and distributes Android Wear? Hint... It's not Huawei. And this isn't Android where carriers and OEM's get to put their own personal touches into it. This is pure Google across all watches. And to your question, there are one or two other threads going on this subject. And you'll find in them that nobody knows yet.

I know this is what I find amusing when people complain about no speaker yet.
The speaker is not supported yet because Goggle has not yet updated Android Wear to support the speaker.
Has nothing to do with Huawei.

I'm pretty sure the changelog for AW 1.4 included speaker support. I remember reading about it when Skin updated his root kernel last. i think that the interface of the watch is going to need some updating for sure to add support for calls. that cant come from AW update. that has to come from Huawei update.

Yes update will be release in a few weeks. I'm feeling so bad right now. I just return my watch cause I couldn't wait anymore. I think LG and HTC will show their new watches too in a few weeks. I am just guessing. I will properly buy Hauwei watch again when the new updates arrive.

This is awesome news, thanks for sharing. I still have some problems to understand the concept of SW roll outs for Android Wear though.
Google is directly updating the Android Wear software for the watch often referred as the "6.0 Marshmallow" update. Is this the operating system of the watch? Which part is Huawei updating with their OTA updates then?
If Google states they activate the speaker, does this also mean they will update the simple call notification app we have at the moment to an app where we can actually make calls through the watch or is this something, that Huawei has to provide after the Android Wear update?

Yes this is the software on the actual device itself. The watch will received the OTA ask to download and install. Which is different than the android wear app, on the play store. Two different items, but work together. Clear as mud? lol If you are at all familiar with the Nexus device updates, they usually "stage" the rollouts slowly. Which isn't horrible. It'll hit my device when it does. When I feel a slowdown on the watch, I'll restart it to see if an update is waiting to be downloaded.
As for the speaker, that is the speculation at this point. We'll see how it will work in the coming weeks.

Ahhh... I knew the name sounded familiar and it just clicked.
I like it a lot actually, battery life is amazing and that seems to be my major thing lately, most other things seem of less importance now days, but to be honest it has been a solid device going on 6 or 7 weeks now. It just works.

I agree. I have no complaints, and the battery life is crazy compared to the N5. Four days compared to nightly charges.
It's a solid device right now, and appears to more than equal the N5.
I'm on factory for the time being. I may try rolling my own, but this is a different ecosystem than the Nexus world.
Anyone in india got that update??
Another update? UGH! I guess it is going to be like this from now on.... Repetitive updates...
Still on -35 and getting -35-5 announcements. Still haven't even updated to -35-5, -35-67 showed up, now -35-83?
Is it still rootable? Are there FULL FW's so I can upgrade or do I need to upgrade to -35 and let it update to -83? Do I need to be on -35-67 before the -35-83 is capable of being installed?

Don't get me wrong, updates are great, but not if you are rooted and you have to go through a process to root then reconfigure the phone since it's not an OTA, you have to reflash a STOCK rom to allow OTA's, then you have to root (if possible, not sure if -83 is yet...) and then setup the phone the way you want it..

Huh... Why not wait and add the patch for BB? Odd... So the safest thing to do is to not even be using BlueTooth at all until it's patched? It's been 3 weeks right? 9-12 or was it 9-11 (what a coincidence)

Well... that's debatable... Although this vulnerability is real, the chances of being effected by it are so remote in most cases is so infinitesimally small that changing your usage habits probably isn't necessary.
Why the August one, probably because that is when they had is scheduled and it was nearly complete when the Sept update came out so they decided to just finish and release it anyway, why let the work go to waste. For Moto it is usually a couple months behind anyway.

My bad, I went out of sync with time for a min. It's AUGUST security the one on this -83 (not SEPTEMBER) so I am guessing there is another update coming!
Did you root your -67 (if you have -67?) My bootloader is already unlocked, do you know if Moto will eventually lock this (maybe Google forcing them to any time soon?)
Moto devs can unlock bootloaders and phone has ugly start image but other than that it all works as intended. (BTW, I am using SuperSU and BusyBox on my -35, not the Magisk root - I use Wifi Tether Router and doesn't work with Magisk)

Another update coming? I suppose, but since we just got this one I don't expect it for 3-4 months and that puts it in the timeframe of Oreo so this might be our last update to Nougat.
As far as the bootloader thing goes, I don't see Moto stopping this or actively blocking rooting, nor do I see Google doing this either.
I don't unlock or root anymore, just don't see the benefits.

+1. I'm on 43-5, a Verizon-exclusive update, and am not seeing an OTA. Chances are it's incompatible with my version and I'll have to reflash -35 and get the OTA. I'd suggest anyone else having this issue does as well. I'll report back as soon as I flash.

From what I understand there is no upgrade path to DP1 from the Nov security update, since DP2 is coming out "soon" Google will just wait rather than re-build dp1 to update from the nov patch. So as soon as DP2 is released, you should be prompted to update to 8.1 beta.
awesome, thanks!
It is normally around a 6 week cycle...
So, with that in mind I would expect it to release around the 2nd week of Dec.
I won't expect the Dec security patch to be included though.
That was my experience on the 7 beta.

Update took ages for me. The download and the install was sooooo slow... . After the update (one full day) I have about 25-30% less battery with the same usage.
(This is not a real measure, just a feeling)
Charged faster over 90% (sometimes it says @95% : 18 mint to max. Now It was faster.
It was not on the change log list but I have less display flickering during the environmental light changes...
And Now the notification led alerts are sometimes not working with some apps. (example Gmail.)
Maybe I'm going to reset my phone.
And yes I'm on Oct 5. security update
