I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THE WORK. I ONLY TRANSLATED THE SCRIPTS TO ENGLISH .
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK OR BREAK YOUR FUJITSU.
I have managed to find a bat file which will allow you to root your F-02E japanese phone.
I have also found a script to allow system R/W made by kikuhare
Steps Involved:
Make sure your phone has 100% charge.
Download the Root + System Mount
Extract the zip's to different folders.
Enable USB debugging under Menu > Settings > Developer Options.
Point to the folder where you extracted drivers from "usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip". Wait for drivers to install.
Make sure the phone is connected as PTP not MTP.
CMD into the folder "f-02e_oneclick_su_installer". It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Run the runme.bat.
Download "Root Checker by joeykrim" from the Play Store.
Run the "Root Checker" app
Wait for the process to finish.
UPDATE System R/W
Connect phone to computer
Download the System Read Write Mounter_1.zip <<<<<< Only need to download if you did not download the "Root + System Mount_1.zip" file.
CMD into the "F-02E_system-mounter" It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Extract the file and run the"START.bat"
Run everytime the system restarts to mount system as R/W.
Enjoy root .
NOTE: This method does not give full root permissions. You will still be able to underclock the CPU to some degree and use the CoreControl app to disable cores. I will have to run start.bat inside F-02E_system-mounter folder everytime the phone restarts to get system R/W
Drivers: usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip
Root Includes System Mount: Root + System Mount_1.zip
System R/W Mounter: System Read Write Mounter_1.zip

No, not enough developers and interest for the phone outside Japan. I doubt anyone will be willing to put in effort as well
Oh well, but it is a very good phone, i think ill still get it though. I just wanted to know is half of it in Chinese even if you select english, i just heard this on youtube about another one of fujitsu's phones?

Only Docomo and Fujistu apps are in Japanese. Everything else is in English.
Thats fine i suppose with root explorer i can delete those apps by deleting the apk in system app? Also if you have xposed app settings you can change the language per app would that also work?

I have just frozen them, just incase if the phone needs the at somepoint. Xposed framework doesnt work as it need system R/W and the root method has not allowed system R/W mainly because the phone bootloader not unlocked. Secondly make sure you do not uninstall/disable the Phonebook and Phonebook Service provided by Docomo. Its key to allowing you to add and sync contacts.
So Xposed wont work at all then, thats a shame what about lucky patcher, does that need R/W?
Sent from my Xperia T
Improved the .bat file. Now you will have system R/W
Download the root file again and run it. Follow the steps starting at 10 if you have already rooted. :good:
Thanks

anyone else besides the OP got their f02 rooted with this?
I may not be able to help any further. I have boot looped my phone. I cannot get it past the NTT Docomo screen. I think I know what is causing it but I cannot get the phone connected to the PC. I may need to send it into Fujitsu.
Good luck on fixing it

I have not been able to overcome the issue. It is a design issue. Because it is waterproof phone the heat cannot disperse.
The only thing I have been able to do is keep the CPU frequency down to lower the time it takes for the phone to heat up.

Hi, im new here and i need help. i've tried posting in the ARHD thread but the system informed me that im not allowed yet to post there. so here's my problem:
see, ive flashed my phone with ARHD V30 and used an app called root checker to see if my device is rooted which it positively verified so, that my phone is rooted. but when i tried to paste some files in the system/usr/keylayout, my phone informed me that said folder was read-only. so i tried using android commander, but to no avail. i tried checking my phone status using android commander and it showed that my phone is not rooted. did i do something wrong when i was flashing arhd? or do i need to root my phone again? if yes, can you point me in the right direction. im on ND3 BL btw. and i habe super su installed and twrp as my custom recovery. thanks!

Go to playstore and update your supersu if not already updated, also in es file explorer you need to mount your system to R/W to be able to copy paste things into system folder. In order to give the system read and write access open es file explorer ,hit menu key then click on extreme left of root explorer (make sure root is checked as you see in the screenshot) then click on R/W then next window make sure all the options are selected on the extreme right column, hit okay and go about pasting files in /system

You're going to have to wait for quite sometime. Firstly Mediatek is something new for Sony. Previously it was Qualcomm so the steps are more or less the same. Secondly this is a mid range phone by Sony so there won't be much waves about this phone because most people will be getting Z5.
But nonetheless i think this phone is pretty decent that's why i get M5 instead of Z5.
So we got to be patient. Very very patient.

And does this require the boot loader to be unlocked?
Doing a Google search for MT6795 (our chipset) shows that Mediatek has at some point released the sources of the kernel and baseband, but all the links to their github are dead.
If we can find someone who has pulled these sources before they were taken off and a developer who knows how to put them to use we might get custom recoveries, root and custom ROMs.

I found this , is it what you were looking for?
Unfortunately I found some other info saying it e wasn't actually released but leaked. Which explains why it has been taken off again. These posts also said that those sources were incomplete and only applies to a xiuomi (or something like that) model and not to other phones.
And on top of that I am not a developer so I can't do anything with the sources myself. I just read the blogs and these sources seem to be the reason why we still don't have root.
So maybe a developer could have a look at the sources you found and verify if they are real and complete. If they are this might get us one step closer to open development for our device.

Hi fellow developers,
I need to do modify my HTC 10's hosts file, but with the latest OTA update to Android 8.0, I find it impossible to make any functional changes to the hosts file. Does anyone have a clue?
I am rooted, and S-OFF with TWRP recovery.
In recovery, I have tried modifying all of these:
/system/etc/hosts
(which is only there normally when the phone is booted and running, I can't figure out where it's coming from)
/data/hosts
/data/data/hosts
None of these work.
Please help, if you know! I cannot find any information online, after hours of research and troubleshooting...
cheers,
Jordan
P.S. Despite S-Off and root, I find that many root procedures don't work when android is booted, disappointed, cannot understand why. Miss my One M8!

Thank you aM- for replying, someone hears my cry for help!
I tried to mount /system as read-write and instead got an "Error : The operation could not be completed".
This is frustrating, as again, I got S-OFF specifically for this purpose.
And SuperSU seems to function normally, asking me to grant permissions.
I had the same problem with a terminal editor, being unable to SU, permissions denied.
Are you on Android 8.0 Oreo as well?

I should be rooted.. I am unlocked and S-OFF.
I flashed SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip from TWRP recovery.
I have the SuperSU app installed and it seems to run normally.
But I cannot "su" in a shell like you did, cannot mount /system partition as write, really, cannot do anything root.
Do you know what version of SuperSU you rooted yours with?
P.S. Android 8.0 as well, not 8.1 (which I presume hasn't rolled out to OTA yet)

Thanks so much aM- and fmedrano1977.
I've made progress. I reflashed my phone with the later SuperSU SR5 zip that you posted, wiped dalvik/cache, rebooted. Now I can "su", as well as mount /system/etc as read/write. Success!
There was a couple of catches, at least two or three other apps that don't seem to work with root anymore (like the previous file explorer I had, supposed to support root, but only "root explorer" worked after I bought it).
Now modifying my hosts file seems to have no effect, but I suppose that's another issue for another day. As it stands, I can now edit my hosts file thanks to your help.
Cheers!!

i was lead here from an answer for my question, i;m curious when getting the host file prepared ,the steps others helped you with, did your device data get deleted ?
So I booted twrp.img and installed magisk 17.1 and updated to magisk 17.2 beta and root is there via root checker. However, regardless of what file explorer I tried to use I cannot replace or delete files in vendor/libs or anywhere in the system folder. Can someone explained to me why and how I can overwrite files in vendor/lib?
Is the file explorer showing root permissions in Magisk? I've started running in to a similar issue recently myself. It seems random but I can view and edit some files in the root partition but there are others where I am denied access. Before a couple of weeks ago I didn't have this issue. I'm not sure when the problem started but from what I have read FX file explorer and there dedicated root addon will work. I haven't had a chance to check for myself though.
I have the same issue. I can't save my edits in build.prop.

Worked for me on stock October security patch with Magisk 17.2 and Total Commander. I use Google's default Kernel.
What has worked for me in the past was to uncheck the two radio buttons on magisk main screen. {The two advanced items} then I would press the install button right below. After doing that I would be able to change files in directories I once couldn't. Worth a shot
