Bootleggers ROM is an aftermarket firmware based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and brings custom features with the most useful apps on your device, with the goal of "Making you feel like 家".
Using the stability and compatibility of AOSP, this ROM is also packed with some custom wallpaper (Dawn by fxckingdeathwish), ringtones, and fonts, to bring to your device into a more fresh look, also with a selection of apps, header packs and wallpapers (on ShishuWalls app).

Q: Bootleggers? Why? What does that even mean?
A: Bootleggers (on a context of toy bootlegs and related stuff) are the people who take an original idea or product and make their own version, obviously on a low-quality way.
Q: What does the chinese/japanese thing means? I don't get it
A: According to google (and take the meaning of this with a hundred quotation marks) it means home or family. We want you to use your phone and feel yourself comfortable, and like it, like you'll be at home.
Q: Can i make Bootleggers stuff like wallpapers, logos and stuff?
A: Of course, feel free to do it, we will love it.

After clean flash with Internal storage..
1) LED charging light always stays Green.
2) App info windows has lags can not enable disable permission from that window.
3) Stock Camera video recording not working, but works with ASUS camera but getting green line in the frame.
4) Advance reboot option is not working on this rom too.

1. Charging Led Light Problem Is present On All The Aosp Based Roms available For Our Device so It's Not A Big Deal.
2. In The App Info Window, There Is No Lags & I can Disable or enable Permission from that window....see the SS below.
3. Video recording with default camera working perfectly here.. see the SS below....try force closing the app & give all permissions.
4. Advance Reboot Problem is Present All The Roms available for our device...but it should fix after flashing magisk root manager...so flash magisk manager..

Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

1 question, How install magisk if rom update available? Because on previous version, I do dirty flash, patch boot.img from rom zip, install patched boot, but after reboot to system, it's stuck on boot logo.

My device bootloop again. Why that always happened to me? Help plz

Always do clean flash and dont use tricky modules, dirty flash kills 69 ****s.
When new update comes, for backup stuffs you can use migrate app from playstore.

Bootleggers ROM is an aftermarket firmware based on AOSP with some patches and fixes from LineageOS and various other projects. The idea is to bring custom features and some of the most useful apps on your device, with the goal of Making you feel like 家.
With an almost stable source, this ROM is also packed with some custom wallpapers (available on ShishuWalls), ringtones, fonts, and themes to bring to your device into a more fresh look and give you always a good experience.
Also, we have a Telegram Group to talk about the ROM, share some love, ideas or even have fun with us!

No bugs found.
If you faced an issue with boot animation, you can delete the larger boot animation (bootanimation2.zip) from /system/media/ and copy/paste rename the 6mb or 11mb one to bootanimation2.zip.
Flashing instructions
--
First time installation :
1. Boot to TWRP
2. Wipe/Advanced Wipe : Dalvik / ART Cache, System and Data (all but internal storage)
3. Flash the ROM zip
4. Flash the TWRP install zip (in order to keep TWRP after reboot)
5. Reboot to System (You'll see "No OS Installed", this is normal, don't worry)
6. Enjoy the Bootleggers ROM.
If you want root, you need to setup your device first, then boot back to TWRP and flash magisk (the link is above in Downloads section)
If you want to update your bootloader, for whatever reason, you can do so after you have the device up and running.
Updating from a previous build (without loosing any data) :
Don't forget to remove any Substraum overlays before updating
1. Reboot to TWRP
2. Wipe Dalvik / ART Cache & System
3. Flash the ROM zip
4. Flash the TWRP install zip (in order to keep TWRP after reboot)
If you are not rooted, you just have to reboot system
If you are rooted using Magisk:
-> Reboot to recovery (TWRP)
-> Flash Magisk zip
-> Reboot system​

According to what I understand after reading the op I would say no...... However maybe you should read it & see if you agree...

Have you checked if the installation zip is ok? How did you flash it (clean/dirty)? What did you flash in which order? What's your device? Which TWRP do you use?

so I installed it in my l720t I gave it Dalvik cache, cache system and data and when you install it it does not go with gapps and I can not install the gapps because it gives me error

Unfortunately I don't have an i720t myself, so i can't help you. If we're lucky someone else with a device like yours can (also) confirm installation works or doesn't work. Until then, you could try to flash OptLos 16 from here

I've seen users reporting it's running on i720t devices.

I've tried to use this rom yesterday. So fast and smooth, but don't have gapps into, and have no space in system partition, cause this error "70" for whatever gapps you try to install. Some issues like "long press" the left button don't work. I love It, and want to use It but without possibility of to use gapps turns impossible to me for now. Congrats for the great work

You can Resize the System Partition after flashing this Rom in TWRP itself, after that you have the full system size avaiable.

I had the same problem with gapps on i9505, clean install but couldn't get gapps working? Agree its a nice rom but that seems to be a bit of a problem. Tnx for the work anyway

First time clean installation:​

- After succesfull ROM flashing go to Advanced -> Install recovery ramdisk -> Choose downloaded twrp.img
- Reboot from TWRP to TWRP
- Install Gapps (optional)
- Install all needed Addons (optional)
- Install Magisk (optional)
- Install DFE (optional)
- WIPE DATA! (if your data was previously decrypted) or FORMAT DATA via "yes" (if your data was previously encrypted)
- Reboot system and enjoy.
Updating:​
- Reboot into TWRP
- Flash ROM
- After succesfull ROM flashing go to Advanced -> Install recovery ramdisk -> Choose downloaded twrp.img
- Reboot from TWRP to TWRP
- Install Gapps (optional)
- Install all needed Addons (optional)

and if you do a clean installation you have to follow the section 'First time clean installation' even if it comes from 'ArrowOS 12', will it work ok?

Sadly, I lost VoWifi without global stock, forced to go back...

Its not rom-biased. You can root any rom you like.
It is needed to flash additional modules.
Example: we, the bassheads, can't live without Viper4Android module.
Google will help.
