I want to use LGUP to update my firmware as my OTA can't find it. Is using the "UPGRADE" option within the software safe? The phone is recognized with a DLL from JOSH1X.
Basically I want to update with a KDZ and still have all my apps, settings, photos, videos, etc. using UPGRADE and want to know if those things will still be on the device afterwards.

I've solved this on my own by just going for it. Device still works, all my files are still there, and I am updated.

Hello, may you please tell me which version of the LG UP used and which DLL?

Purely out of curiosity, why did you not consider LG Bridge before resorting to LGUP?

Hey guys.
Yesterday I installed leaked 10j firmware and I am really impressed how it works. It feels much more fluid and responsive, but I am not sure if it is because of fresh install or it really is that better.
Could you share your impressions about this version? What key differences do you see?
If you haven't installed it yet here is the dl link: https://mega.co.nz/#!wFZnnToR!24jSLOsVvFnBspQr7wO5sH1fWwDKG1j6SMh3v2MWTOo

Now I feel like my G3 runs how it should since day one

They disabled the adaptive lcd refresh and set it to a fixed 60fps so that's why it's more fluid and responsive
Battery life is good so far for me (after deleting robird which was hammering the battery)
Yeah. I also read about it. Lets see how battery acts after few days.
After 3 days of use, the battery life is so far the best on G3 for me!
On every update (kinda) ppl say "no more lag". Guess im the only one who cant see a difference at all.
anybody notice any signal reception improvement in 10j ? there was some reports regarding 10i... i just wonder if 10j is the same? cheers

Just a question, how does installing these updates go if we've rooted and spent hours tweaking little things like app icons and status bars? I'm interested in the updates, but will we receive them OTA or do they have to be manually, and if installed will they remove anything? I've read that you can manually disable OTA but I've also read that when rooting it automatically removes that ability. So I'm confused on the topic. Sorry for the silly question.

As 10j is a test version, you would have to install it by using a tool with a computer and it is safer to do that with a clear installation, i.e., without maintaing your configurations.
Of course there are backup and restore tools you can use. But even with those some rework can be necessary.

First, off if you are Rooted = You will not receive OTA's. These downloads are TOT files unless otherwise noted, if otherwise noted they would be KDZ files. With TOT files you will need to use LGFlashTool to install it. As a general note download the TOT and extract it-> also find a copy of the dll file for your device and load both into LGFlashTools and run it. Device in download mode, plug and run (I'm sure you know steps...) Just remember that basically, by Rooting your device you have disabled OTA's, if you want to reset your device just do a Factory Data Reset. Also, if you're interested in searching for Firmware, I put together this thread which I hope it helps; http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/firmware-updates-available-to-download-t2844227 .
The version in download link is for 32G or 16G?
Thanks.
I am using it with 32 version.
Is this ota international update?

It is a leaked version, not an official OTA.
Probably some carrier version since I had 2 apps from them.
Oooo, thx I did not realize.[emoji1]

As long as you didn't unlock your bootloader which isn't even possible yet you will receive OTA updates. With the last two updates even root has remained. As long you didn't change your recovery you will even be able to install the OTA updates.
noob question: this can't be used on the tmobile G3, right?
It is for 855 version which is interntional.
Hey, I have the F400S and I just got the update, it updated to 10k, is this the latest for my g3?
Did anybody install it in a D855 16Gb version? Does this same Rom fit in both versions?
Ok. I was using 10F , and it terrible , it was lag, slow. Upgraded to 10J yesterday and this is the best rom so far. Smooth, fast and look like better battery life.
I just got a G3 “D855” and I noticed it got bunch of European software on it for orange, sfr….etc is all of them like that? Check SC below
Thanks
Lucky you, usually one can get only Orange or SFR or none.
Looks like you got double bloatware.. Congrats xD

Install bumpd twrp and flash AndroidHD or Cloudy

Kind of new to LG "sorry"
Took it to the store earlier they said they have a new clean stock ROM that has nothing on.....Ran an update that took a few min then after wiping I got the same customization stuff back once the data start to sync I'm also now at 4.4.2 instead of 4.4.3 tried OTA sw update it says I have the latest. How can I get 4.4.3 update now?
Thanks!!!!
As far as i know there is no 4.4.3. And for the bloatware, it's firmware independent. That means the bloat is already on your phone in a hidden folder.

LG G3 will not have 4.4.3 update, but by the end of 2014 will receive 5.0 update for D855 international version.
You can either flash a stock .kdz by entering your imei and download it from LG's website here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI HERE
Or flash a custom rom like CloudyG3. Please see the forums for more info on that. Also you can get rid of it by atleast rooting your device and throwing the APK's away, or as I like to do I root my device, install Titanium and batch uninstall all the apps at once and ta-da a clean phone

Weirdly that doesn't work, I had the same issue before and when you flash any kdz as soon as it booted it downloaded a **** load of carrier apps from Germany xD There is a folder that the flash does not erase, if you delete that it gets rid of it for good. (Hopefully)

Hi guys i'm new to all this soo here is what i did.
I recently rooted my lg g3 V10l-EUR-XX and now i want to unroot it ... but the problem is that i found only the kdz file without the dll file ...
Can you please help me find it or if it's possible to downgrade it from v10l ? Sorry if i said something strange or impossible but i'm a complete newbie with the roots and stuff
If you download the LG PC Suite and click on "Restore Upgrade errors" it should reflash the current version, but i'm not sure as it might download the latest which is lollipop.
You could also flash your KDZ file using the LG Flash Tool. Without the need for a DLL file.

Because i have been reading a lot of post this week and everything messed up. That's why i didn't see that the LG Flash Tool doesn't require .dll file. I just brought my LG to stock and everything is fine ... Thank you for ''enlighting'' me ! :good:
In fact i have one more question ... probably a silly one but still. When the LG was still rooted i got an update for v20e i think but i didn't install it because i assumed that it will be bad and it will ''brick'' my phone ... and now when it's stock i don't have that update. What should i do or it is just a matter of time the update to show up ?

Since you device in now unrooted there will be no problem in updating. The update may show up some time, but you can always flash it if you want to.
NOTE: Lollipop CAN NOT be rooted.

Marshmallow isn't out yet. Only the source code which is useless for users.
A user asked a similar question with the same purpose:

btw, what you mean is, you want to unroot your phone which is currently with Lollipop so you can later receive the OTA from LG.
thanks for resPonding
but for my Phone it gives that there is a software uPdate and started to download it and it was about 300MB, so is that what you are saying that it is just a source code!
and sorry for this but bexause i dont know but can you exPlain the difference between the source code and the offical rom!

the software update you're seeing might be v21a which is still lollipop, not marshmallow
source code is a bunch of code for developers to use while the official rom is a kdz file released from LG that can be flashed, or OTA from LG.
EDIT: also, if marshmallow update is here it would be v30a or something like that

If you received an update it was probably 20A like mentioned or a Lollipop update. Source code isn't used update over the air. Its for developers.
When you get Marshmallow update, Im assuming will be bigger than 300mb and it will mention what kind of update it is (stating Marsmhallow).
THANKS A LOT GUYS, YOU WERE ALL RIGHT, IT WAS JUST AN UPDATE FOR THE LOLLIPOP, 21A, AND BY THE WAY FOR THE COMING UPDATE IF ANYONE WANTS TO GET THE OTA UPDATE AND HE HAS ROOTED HIS PHONE HE CAN EASILY FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS
1. Download LG PC Suite from LG's website - you must select model type before you do so, but as far as I can tell it downloads the same version regardless.
2. Update the app so it recognises the G3 - this should ask you to update automatically on opening the app, if not you can do it from the "help" menu.
(NB: if you have used some of the KDZ flashing methods on here you may have issues updating as your hosts file is probably altered to block the PC Suite gaining a connection).
3. Connect the phone via USB (the app allows for a wifi connection but this is very restrictive, you require a USB connection for this).
*OPTIONAL STEP* If you want to go back to a truly stock experience then unfreeze any apps you have frozen (I am unsure if having apps frozen will effect OTA installations, it should still work fine, in theory).
4. With the device connected go to the "phone" menu in PC Suite and select the option that says "Restore Upgrade Errors".
5. It will then scan your device, download the rom and begin flashing, this is all automatic without any further input from you, do not cancel it.
6. The phone will reboot when finished. You are now unrooted and unmodified and OTA's should work.
*OPTIONAL STEP* If you want to go back to 100% stock then its probably a good idea to factory reset your phone at this point - this will wipe your whole device (of course).
And there you have it, your quick(ish), painless method for being able to unroot to accept OTA's without requiring a wipe.
THANKS FOR "Lennyuk" FOR THESE STEPS,,, THEY ARE FROM HIS PREVIOUS POST,,,
DONT FORGET TO PRESS THE "THANKS" IF I HELPED YOU,,,
Hi all.
I bought a used LG G3, where the guy said this phone had been used to pass around reviewers, so I don't know if this has any factor as to why I'm having issues.
So, issue is, I'm on 4.4.2 atm, and want to upgrade to at least 5, and possibly 6 if this is possible (which it seems to be from what I've seen around the web.) I tried to do it via the phone first, through the built-in update center (current version is V10g-EUR-XX) It sees there is an update for the phone, which I then select to download and install. It then tells me it will download it, and shows the object under my notifications. But then it simply says Cannot download, and just stalls at this point. I've tried both options with wifi only, and over 2g/3g as well.
(At this point I added some screenshots I took, but can't add them, as external links are not allowed for the first 10 posts)
I then tried to go through the LG PC suite, installed the USB drivers etc. When checking for updates, it simply says "Cannot Proceed Upgrade. LG PC Suite upgrades unavailable on this phone."
Where do I go from here? Can I manually update it through the flashtool 2014, or am I looking at rooting this phone, to get be able to upgrade it?
In advance, thank you for your help.
Best Regards,
Dozer.
