Android Auto API_UNAVAILABLE - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

Hi,
on latest nightly LineageOS 15.1 Android Auto crashes with "Google Play Services not working" on startup.

API_UNAVAILABLE sounds like I missed something to install? I'm using Open GApps Mini. Android auto menu item is also missing in settings - google - services menu.
Same setup on other devices for example HTC M8s works without problem.
Anyone seen this issue before and may help?
Edit:
Got it somehow working for now. I was in settings - google - show debug items (in top menu) - google play services modules (at the bottom) - car / car_setup. There I did check for updates nothing happened went back to GCM Diagnostics pressed disconnect, then connect, and ping nothing really happened again. Then I went back did hide debug items now Android auto menu was present and I was able to startup Android Auto without the error.
Log seems fine now:

Still I do not know what was causing the issue. I was always able to use Android Auto until it was broken for no reason. Maybe some strange issue while disconnecting from the car caused the car play service to crash. Nevertheless, reboot alone did not fix it. I'll report back if it breaks again in the future and maybe dump logs directly after the incident.

[Q] Force close when attempting to connect to public wifi

I have CM10.0.0 "stable" installed on my Epic, and am running into an issue with connecting to public wifi. My phone detects the signal just fine, and a notification pops up asking me to accept the terms or whatever. My browser opens up and force closes after a couple seconds of loading the page! Sometimes, I get a "There is a problem with the security certificate for this site" error, but it still force closes once I tap Continue.
This only seems to happen on JB roms, as CM9 and previous CM roms, as well as the stock Epic rom have all worked fine.
I've tried both CM10 and AOKP Build 4, and both have this issue. I've tried the stock browser, Dolphin, and Opera Mini and all of them do the same thing.
I've copied my debug log here, if it helps. I don't know a whole heck of a lot about reading it, but I've started the log at where the browser opens and ended the log shortly after the force close.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
After looking over the debug log, I'm assuming this line is important:
Caused by: java.security.cert.CertificateException: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Trust anchor for certification path not found.
Now why does it do this in JB but not in ICS or the Stock Epic rom?
Try the latest nightly. I've had issues with stable where nightly fixed.
Tried that today. Same issue happened :/
It seems to be only my wifi at work (I work at Lowe's). Starbucks and Safeway wifi appears to work fine.
Hmmm....
Going to try Paranoid next, we'll see if that works....
Well, my cell service died when using Paranoid, so I think I'll stay away from that one for now.
Also didn't realize it would automatically install TWRP, and after messing with it for an hour, I had to Odin->Stock FC09 to get CWM to stick >_<
Guess I'm sticking with CM9 for now :/
Stumbled across this thread searching for exact same issue on my Atrix 4G running epinter's cm10 JB ROM. I also work at Lowes and it appears to be the only public WiFi causing my browser to force close. Probably safe to say that something with the Lowes WiFi is the problem.
Oh thank goodness, I'm not the only one!
So... do you think a call to Lowe's corporate office would do anything? It looks like something to do with their security certificate... I wish someone who knew more about this type of thing had this problem! Maybe we can get one of the CM10 devs to head into a Lowe's and experience this for themselves, maybe they can give us a better idea of what's happening.
Doubt a call to IT or corporate would do anything. All my coworkers running stock ROMs can get on. I suspect its unique to cm10 and something with Lowes WiFi but I'm not tech savvy enuf to pinpoint it. At least it seems to be isolated to Lowes. Occurs when being asked to agree to terms of service.
Do any of your coworkers have stock JB? Just to make sure it's a CM issue, not a JB issue.
I'll try to find out when I work this week now that I know it is an isolated issue with Lowes. I thought my ROM was borked but WiFi worked fine when I got home and connected with my home WiFi.
Awesome! Yeah none of my co-workers have an Android with stock JB...
Also I thought I was the only one who used the word "borked" any more, haha
OK - Think I solved the problem. I'm no network techie but it sounds like there is a conflict with some CM10 based ROMs/browsers when attempting to logon to public wifi spots that have self signed security certificates. (like Lowes) The browser doesn't know how to handle the conflict and force closes not allowing the user to agree to the terms of service and connect. I found a suggestion that Mozilla fennec (Firefox) might cure it. I installed Firefox and it works. I was able to connect and once connected I could use Firefox or the stock browser with CM10 epinter JB ROM. Interestingly, Lowes uses Mozilla Firefox for Lowes.net, etc. Anyway, it worked for me so give it a try.
Awesome thanks! I'll give that a shot as soon as I can
Works perfectly!! Thank you so much!

[Q] Lost SU, recovery and bootloader options... :(

I installed a bit older htc sense 4.x rom on google g2 (htc vision), which was rooted about 2-3 years ago. Suddenly after the rom was installed, I found the su rights were lost, recovery is not available, also had to get rid of this rom as I don't see the top notification bar. Phone is 30% brick as I don't know what's the battery charge, new notifications, signal strength.
I'm not sure what cause this issue. I'm trying to re-root again and the ADB is not working on mac (list being empty) or windows (SDK manager doesn't open). Just getting frustrated. Any idea or suggestion on how to proceed would be a great help.

Wow, that's a comprehensive thread for G2, I'm surprised for not catching hold of it earlier. Coming back, I tried with adb, it returns an empty result. Tried the kill and start server, adb get-state throws "unknown' as the output.
Most of the threads that I have searched is suggesting to have ADB working to either bring it back to stock or do any sorta changes.
Tried adding the vendor id of the phone to the ini file, that too did not help. Has anyone ever come across anything like this?
I've been on this for the past 48 hours, without a clear idea on where to begin and how to go. I'm still going through the thread to see if it will help.
NOTE: I'm able to access sd card, connection with pc is fine. Phone is stable at least for the last two days, as mentioned before, no top menu bar/notifications.
Any takers? Since ADB is not working, how to move ahead?
Can you check out post 5 of that thread I linked you, really what I'm after is for you to write down all info from bootloader here

Sure, this time I tried installing ADB on windows-7, the following are the results. I'm in the mean time trying other commands.
I killed and restarted the ADB server, now the ADB is working (not sure how suddenly)

Your issue with adb is that you have eclipse or another emulator open, kill that process and then try again. But this doesn't give information from bootloader on phone. If you power on while holding camera down button you'll see a screen with three androids on skateboards. This is important information

After killing and restarting the adb server, I see one device listed, I guess that's not an emulator. For the other command:
Code:
C:\Users\sp>adb shell dmesg ; adb logcat -b system -b radio -b events -b main
I receive a very big log, should i paste whole thing here?
BTW, camera button and power (vol down + power), restarts the phone, doesn't go to bootloader. Any other options to get in there?
I have rooted the phone myself earlier by using gfree (NOT Visionary) so should I be downgrading it to stock?
Well the log can be pasted into pastebin than linked here
Otherwise just be sure to wrap it in #codewraps
But still would need the info from bootloader screen

The reason why you are having issues is the system partition size, right now you have the engineering bootloader for the g2, which is good but you can't flash sense ROMs. If you want to use many of the recent ROMs or any sense ones really you need the eng DZhboot.
Check that main link again that I sent you and see the link for fastboot (How to why to) in there you will see instructions how to flash the dzhboot and if you want there is a PC10IMG.zip I made in post 30 of that thread that can also work.
Bear in mind that you will need to flash a new ROM after this as flashing a new bootloader will wipe system

[Q][CM11][FXP33x] Launcher failure even after wiping process

Hail, XDAers!
It's a simple to explain issue: I had my C1904 (sometimes it says C1905, I don't know what's the difference, at all) running CM11 by flashing PecanCM's FXP329 or 330 -- I can't remember exactly. There were, of course, some bug's as it's very typical of beta releases and, aside of it, it's a very good job from Free Xperia Team.
Well, it ran near flawlessly (no serious bugs, reliable for daily use) for one and a half week. Then, last thursday, it went unusable: Google Now Launcher started to crash, crash and crash, then crashing one more time until it... wait, it won't stop crashing. It went crashing/restarting the launcher in a frenetic way.
My first obvious reaction was restarting the device. To be honest, I tried it for at least five times. Everytime, it worked well for the first ten~fifteen minutes, then entering the launcher crash loop again.
Next, I've tried out some other launcher apps (notably ADW and Apex). Nothing changed.
This time, I tried flashing FXP332 (it was, for me, a good time to upgrade, since my CM11 was some versions old -- perhaps FXP329 or 330, aforementioned) without wiping anything. Just upgrading and hoping it to fix possibly damaged system files. Anyway, it failed, too.
As a last resort, I've made a complete wipe (cleaned every partition but internal storage and SD, of course) and reflashed a brand new FXP332. However, the system were quite unstable and contacts importing process failed several times until bam: the launcher crashed, and crashed, and crashed, and crash... and cras... and cr... *device freezes*. I had to remove the battery and turn it on again, like I did the several other times, but, this time I started it to restore stock 4.3 C1905 ROM.
It's rooted, it's working, but I must confess: I miss some CM11 built-in flexibilities and it's clean default interface.
BTW, I had cat'ed down logcat output (full version attached to this post), although it won't says anything much different from the following excerpt in it's entire extension:

Have you tried using trebucket launcher? It is better in my opinion.
Hail, RedLed!
Well, I tried. In reality, it was my first launcher. However it bugged with one Google widget, and refused to work. So I started using Google Now, which worked flawlessly 'till one week later. In my latter attemps, it was just impossible to use Trebuchet, as it were already messed up.

Bluetooth pairing gets intermittently forgotten

Even after getting Android Wear 2.0 I'm still having this issue. At times (not every time) when I walk out of the phone's range and after I get back, the bluetooth pairing would be lost and I get the pairing request prompts on both the phone and the watch.
This issue is also being discussed in the Google forums as well, and is still ongoing.
It's not a big issue since completing the pairing will make it continue to function for the time being, but it can be annoying as if I'm not immediately aware of the problem the phone will keep making notification noises.
From the phone's logcat during the period I'm seeing something that makes me curious (The watch's Bluetooth device name and address have been obscured in the logs below since they're device-specific):

It appears either the phone (Android Wear) or the watch unpaired in the background, in a one-sided manner, so that the log on the phone reported that the device is "not paired anymore".

LineageOS 15 on S5 mini and SE Linux enforcement. Doesn't work well together

Hi,
I'm running LineageOS 15 (Android 8) on S5 mini. Everything is fine except one banking app that I really need. They validate on startup, whether the phone is rooted.
They in fact check if SE Linux is in enforcement mode. Here is the log snippet:

Since LineageOS sets SELinux by default into permissive, this check fails and the app crashes. I'm able to set it to enforced with "SE Linux mode changer" or any other app of that kind, but immediately after the change the phone starts eating 100% cpu and modem (neither internet, nor SMS/phone calls) aren't working, which makes me think LineageOS doesn't work really well in enforcement mode of SE Linux. But the app itself launches just fine with SELinux in enforced.
I'm not an expert in Android and SELinux, but would like to know if there is a way:
to workaround the check we see in the logs and work with the app in permissive mode
to make LineageOS work correctly under enforced
PS. It doesn't matter which way to set the SELinux mode. Whatever is done - through kernel, in init.d or in adb shell, the symptoms are exactly the same after the change.
Thanks

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Unofficial LineageOS (since there's no Official LineageOS Oreo released yet) thread for your device.

Good Luck!
