Anyone can see small light bleeding at bottom right corner?
Visible on light colors as shining vertical line.
No big deal but on that price could be without it.
no i don't think i have that here or at least can't see it..
The only light bleeding I see is between the notification LED and the sensor that is right next to it. (But not the one right next to the speaker.) It's kind of hard to even tell anything is there during the day.
EDIT: NVM It is the one right next to the speaker, which I think is the light sensor. That's not ideal, but ah well.
Hard to take photo of it. It is shadow from bottom and shining line at corner. Visible especially at daylight.

Hi,
I bought a Galaxy Nexus phone yesterday, and last night I noticed this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you see, the screen looks a bit more reddish on a side and a little more greenish on the other. It's more noticeable with low brightness levels, especially when displaying white backgrounds.
Is this normal on these phones? Should I get a refund and / or replacement?
Thanks!
These screens have some issues at lower brightness levels.. that's just the screen though. In your case I guess it would come down to how much it bothers you really

Well, it does. I know these screen have some other issues, such as some noise and granularity, but as far as I've read this is not a common issue. Hence the question, do you guys have it too?

Hallo my friend, seems like we are in the same boat. We have a screen issue thread over 60+ pages in galaxy note Q & A.
check this thread out
The issue u see are definitely associated with these Amoled screens, but the biggest problem of all is the ignorance from everybody thinking it is NORMAL.
Where i say its NOT NORMAL
And still everybody thinks is NORMAL & continue to think they hv the best Super Amoled screen in the world.
I m getting frustrated...
I'd assume that's not normal and it would bother the crap out of me. Try getting a replacement?
try Franco Kernel as it fixes the color... if you buy his app you will be able to control the color to your liking.
but this is definitely not normal

Er, well. If you agree that it's not the way the screen should look, I think I'll get a replacement rather than mess with the kernel. I'll let you know how it went, thanks guys.
Take a look at this screenshot of my phone. Does it look washed out to you? I think it's horribly washed out. I had a serious hardware issue with my phone (the microphone failed completely - I even reverted to 100% stock and the issue persisted).

So I had a warranty replacement and this new phone's screen seems horribly washed out. I took a screenshot which I've posted here, but I'm not sure if it does justice to how bad the screen seems to my eyes.
The background looks gray but is supposed to be much more black looking (Tapatalk dark view).
Should I request a replacement due to screen issues?

You do realize that the screenshot will absolutely show nothing that the physical screen is showing you? It's effectively showing a "video out" of the screen. Its showing what the phone hardware is sending to the screen.
You have to take a picture of the screen with another camera...
Looks fine on my iPad 2.

Looks perfectly fine on my notebook too. LOL.
Ya do what the 2nd guy said.
Sometimes my Tapatalk looks like this and other times the app is actually black. Are you saying my screen goes from washed out to not washed out?

I think what he is seeing is the HW acceleration gradient present in ICS.
To the OP, if you go to your settings, do you see the same gradient running from the bottom of the screen and getting progressively darker near the top?
I would recommend using Franco's kernel until voodoo comes out. To me the "hue" is slightly yellowish on stock. Using Franco's kernel it's much nicer.

It isn't washed out. That gradient you see means hardware acceleration is currently enabled.
hi all XDA's
ok i know i use whatsapp alot but this is so strange !!!!!!

as you see in the previous picture
in the upper part of the screen there is a less than 1 cm bar thick, which is much whiter than the rest of the screen and there is a smile face and clip icon on the right of that bar
its identical to whatsapp chat bar
the problem is that this bar is like a back light on the screen its showing in the screen where ever you are at and its so clear to see on a white or gray back grounds its even noticeable on CWM , its so annoying and defecting the beautiful screen of my note 2. :crying:
cant seem to understand how or why that happened
could it be that my screen is a defected unit ?? cuz my brother's note 2 is just fine
right now i dont know what to do i asked a mobile's repair shop for new screen and he said it will cost me 300$ (its half price of a new device)
here is more pix
*note : it may be no so clear to see on those pictures but in real its so clear and ugly
I have heard issue of Screen burn

so the only solution is to replace the screen with new one right ???
and do u think that the one year guarantee that came with the device should cover this ??
thanks all for helping
i make up my mind
the screen is so annoying cant live with it and even the colors tune is less brighter than it was and more yellow-ish i started to hate the phone cuz of the screen
and the new screen will cost me 300$ and its too much its almost a price of a new mid range android device
i decided to sell it and buy HTC one but not so sure
i will think about it and do some researches on the HTC one and see if it is good enough
damn you samsung you always disappoint me with your super amoled problems
Anyone else experiencing this red after image thingy on the sides of the screen? It is most noticable when looking at a dark image or completely black. See image below and notice the sides.

I mentioned after images because the icons on the status bar sometimes shows an "after image" when for example I toggle the wifi off thereby the wifi icon disappearing, an after image is left behind but not that noticeable.
Any thoughts as to what it is and possible remedy?
I've noticed this also on mine. If I'm right , I get this red tint on the right side of my screen, after I play that football game on Messenger. It seems to go away after a while. It's noticeable on grey colours.
thats called burn in and thats a hardware issue.
That's a screen burn if I'm not wrong. Even I had experienced the same and the device was under warranty so got the screen changed and it was all fine until now, 10 months after the change, that it's back again. I'm thinking of switching to Nexus 6P now.

I was thinking of having it replaced since it is still under warranty but after reading your post, should I still go for it?

Here what happens with my device : When I shoot up the brightness to the fullest, those "red after images" kind of dissappear. But then again when the auto brightness is switched on it returns back (pssst... LG G4's are haunted! ?). I don't know what exactly the problem is, whether with the digitizer or screen. I would still suggest to get the screen changed as it's still in the warranty or if you don't want to take the pain switch to some better phone.
I didn't see any led, but maybe I'm wrong.
Any idea?

It should be like the Nextbit Robin, on the bottom of the phone so when it's layed flat it shines on the desk and towards you.
Probably one of the speaker grill hole is a led noti.

I'm betting you're right just based on the Robin-like design. To the right of the bottom microphone. Nearly invisible until the light shines.

Just seen here on this video (sorry dont know what language it is) of a flashing light between the camera/sensors on the top front.
https://youtu.be/6svglka4euA?t=7m30s
looks quite cool, wonder of we can change it to green
Thank goodness for the observation.

Thanks, I was churning on the inside cause I couldn't find the light! This is nearly my dream phone. Everything I've wanted.

I'm fairly certain this is an IR LED used for autofocusing the front camera. Probably not a notification LED.
LED is not in the middle of the camera, that's a reflection from his other recording device, not the phone. It's in between the two as seen here. (From my own phone). It is not very bright though at all. The picture looks brighter than it does to the human eye.
For those worried about it waking you or your spouse at night, don't. It's not nearly bright enough to do that and that is a good thing for most people. However if you rely heavily on the notification led, it is not bright enough to see from an angle, only directly.
