Hey! Does anyone know how to get ADB Debugging work with Xiaomi 5S?
I've tried all day, but although developer options are enabled (and usb debugging), my pc doesnt recognize my phone as android-device, only as media-device.
My phone also doesn't even ask me to accept the Computers fingerprint...
Hello,
Just install Mi PC Suite and it should install correct drivers for phone. Don't forget to uninstall others.

Well the Mi PC Suite I tried said it wasn't compatible with Mi 5S :/
I tried to uninstall in device manager, but it doesn't include deinstall drivers, so I don't know if there are other old drivers....
Edit: Mi PC Suite doesn't seem to work with Marshmallow
Sounds like you don't have original rom installed, what is the exact software version on your phone?

I had the same problem Even now Mi PC Suite cannot recognize my phone. Of course, I forget: turn off USB-debugging...

Oh sorry. If you want that your phone will be recognizable by pc via cmd-fastboot, turn off USB-debugging. Turn off the phone. Hold power button and Volume Down, wait till fastboot loaded. Then pc (I have Win10) will install needed drivers. Then you will able to see your device in cmd <fastboot devices>
I had problems with this but fastboot. adb worked but fastboot failed. Try this method maybe it might work for you as well
1. you need to have miflash installed on your computer first first
2. in device manager update the bootloader interface driver with the google driver that comes inside the C:\XiaoMi\XiaoMiFlash\Source\ThirdParty\Google\Driver folder
but for your problem maybe try the same as above but instead of bootloader interface driver, do it for ADB interface driver. note that windows10 you may have to disable driver signature verification for this.

It's the original Rom for phones in China, Android 6.0.1MXB48T with MIUI 8.0.10.0. I didn't flash another Rom.
@Derodraaa solved the problem for me!
So if anyone has the same problem, what worked for me was:
1. Uninstall all adb related drivers
2. Use "minimal adb and fastboot"
I would like to connect ADB to my Mi 5s, but I don't know where to get USB drivers that are safe for download/install?
I need Windows 10 x64 drivers if possible...
Any pointers?
This tool should contain all needed drivers:
http://en.miui.com/thread-281979-1-1.html
Alternatively, if you use the full Android SDK it also contains the needed drivers (open SDK Manager.exe -> Extras -> Google USB Drivers).
I have the SDK installed and could connect with ADB while the mobile was normally running (and Debugging enabled in MIUI) and also while I was in fastboot.
This on Windows 10 x64.

This link seems to be for the Mi5 and not for the Mi5S? Doesn't that matter?
Otherwise I'm using Minimal ADB and Fastboot which is working with Google/Samsung Galaxy Nexus mobile phone. But if I try and connect Mi5S and start ADB Deamon running adb devices doesn't return anything.
Got it working. Thanks.
As far as I understood it, Miflash supports all Qualcomm based Xiaomi devices.
You have enabled ADB Debugging on the 5s? It's disabled by default. You have to enable first the developer options and then you can enable it. Here is the latest version of Miflash: http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash but the site is down for me at the moment.
Do you see the Mi5s in Device Manager under USB Devices when it's connected?
I haven't installed Miflash, only the full Android SDK and it was automatically detected.
Here an alternative manual: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=409951&pid=7620087
Please note, you don't actually need EDL, but it nicely outlines possible driver issues and fixes.

Agreed, I got stung and had to spend another 30 mins to unlock again.
@Judyz add something around checking the following options with details:
clean all (pick this option to retain unlocked device)
save user data
clean all and lock (this is default option, be WARNED it will lock your device if unlocked)
I'm trying to connect my Note 8T to my windows 7 to use software such as mpcsuite, tool-all-in-one and others.
I'm struggling to do it, Windows won't recognise it. I've tried all the drivers I've found in this forum and also googling, but no luck. When I connect the phone it does configure some device automatically, but there's always one missing that I cannot find drivers for: TRINKET-IDP _SN:XXXXX
The thing is that if I go into fast boot, then Windows will find the phone just fine and I can for example run the MiFlash Unlock app, but not when the phone is in any other state.
I haven't tried other versions of Windows as I have no other.
any suggestion what I'm missing here?
thanks!

Try downloading the Xiaomi unlocking tool, I didn't have problems with drivers, but I saw a messages about downloading drivers and "Driver already installed" for my phone within the application log.
Give that a try!
But problem with Note 8. I don't remember when it started, but on crDroid 6 it definitely worked.
After that I notice in device manager what it determinate as some SAMSUNG Adb Device with Clock World driver. I had ADB Universal Driver installed, after uninstalled everything start work fine.
I have a similar problem with note 8t too. I have Windows 10 x64 and when i put the phone on fastboot mode and plug on the pc nothing happens, nothing shows on the device manager. When the phone is in normal mode the pc recognizes it normally. I want to unlock the bootloader to change the rom to the global version, but neither Mi unlock tool or Mi flash tool recognizes it. Any tips from anybody?

You just have to update drivers from device manager.
Follow this, you can use the fastboot drivers either from Xiaomi or Google (if you already have them installed)
If you don't have the Android with exclamation mark, you can do it the same as shows the latest image.

Before i got stuck in fastboot my phone doesn't really detected in my pc even on other computers with fastboot drivers. USB File Transfer not working too, it's only charging. I'm using Havoc OS 4.8 rom and this firmware.

And did you try what I posted? Probably you need to check which drivers you have actually installed, some of them are sometimes redundant and not necessary, what you need is the Google ADB/fastboot that it is in the Google site, and regards Xiaomi all is in the Mi flash tool and Mi Unlock tool, see to the option to install the drivers hoping that you don't need the Qualcomm 9008-USB drivers.
Of course, this is assuming that you have a data cable not only a charger cable and the issue is not with the ROM itself.
Use known good data cable!!!
Does the phone see the connection?
Is it configured properly?!!!
Try another port.
Reboot, reboot, reboot...
Event manager, check for error messages.
Disk management>scan for new disks, open from here!
Device management, update driver, rollback driver... reboot.
Meh, play with it...

Are you sure your device is actually in fastboot mode with that issue "Device Descriptor Request Failed"?
The drivers are in the Mi Flash tool, when you install the tools you can see the option to install the drivers that are already included in the Mi unlock tool.
From there, just follow the steps indicated in the pictures to update them.

Upload the same as my pictures 2 and 3 from your device manager, from the picture 2 you can use either from Xiaomi or Google.
Delete that Kedacom USB driver and replace for the proper ones, here you have the right guide https://xiaomifirmware.com/guides-and-tips/delete-kedacom-usb-device-driver-pc/

Well, at least you got your device showed, no?
To power off the device you can put it in fastboot mode, after of approximately 10 minutes if the device is not attached to your PC, it'll power off, then you can charge it.
But if your device reacts to the power charger trying to boot to nowhere, then fastboot will charge the battery but very, very slowly.
Do you have bootloader unlocked? Why not flashing it through EDL mode?, you don't need battery power to do that.
