This doesn't bother me when using apps but it does when I try watching a YouTube video with the very slight corners on the edges.

Which corners are you referring to? The stock ROM is all square edges. Can you post a screenshot?
Taking a screenshot just removed the edges from it. But I'm talking about the edges of the phone screen. I'm running LiquidRemix and I swear I remember the screen corners were also rounded during the 5 minutes of running stock Pie.
Nope. Stock pie, and most roms even on pie, don't have rounded corners.
which pie rom has square corners??
try this adb command.
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_rounded_size 0
if 0 doesn't work, try other values to see if it gives you what you want.
i haven't tried using this command, but i have used a similar one to get rid of the icon padding on the status bar.
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_rounded_content_padding 0

Hi, I've been annoyed by how tall the navigation bar is on our screen. Fortunately it turns out the old adb trick still works in Pie. The navigation gestures are still working fine with this change.
First make sure you have the "adb" command line tool. Then type one of the following command:
A very thin bar with almost nothing displayed on it (just the top black lines of the navigation bar), a bit aggressive but my favorite: adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-90
If you want to keep the button visible, this looks fine: adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-50
To get back to the normal settings: adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
Unfortunately, changing the second parameter to a negative value does push the status bar upward, but it won't reduce its thickness (due to the screen notch).
See the attached screenshot to check the difference between 0 and -90.
Do you know of a way to swap the back and recent buttons in 10? Seems like the old way is broken.
No, I prefer to use Android 10's gestures instead. Which removes the navigation bar, similarly to what I was doing above.
I really don't like the look of my phone, don't like the extreme rounded corners of my phone, I can circumvent by using hide camera cutout and it add a black bar at the top getting rid of the prominence of roundness from the top atleast, but now I have rounded corners at the bottom but not at the top of my phone which just looks awkward, so wondering if there is a way to just stop rendering anything at the bottom of the phone like a black bar, where touch is disabled and its just black?

Ofc, follow this:
Settings>Display>Fullscreen Apps>Three dots at the upper right corner>Advanced Settings>Hide Camera Cutout....
Sorry I misunderstood your question. :/
Hi people, am currently waiting for bootloader unlock, am trying to sort things out and see how am gonna use my new rooted phone Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro, well phone is great, but am coming from old era where rounded corners and notch was not a thing, i still prefeer screens with rectangle shape, and am willing to sacriface lower portion of screen up to ending of rounded corner and same above till the camera module, so i can have nice rectangular screen
Now my question is how to?
How to change screen size? (how to measure where to start and end)
If by software rounded corners still exist how to remove them?
Am planing to flash xiaomi.eu rom and magisk root.
Thank you great people and community.
in miui there is option to hide notch
there are 3 options:
1. don't hide notch
2. hide notch without moving statusbar
3. hide notch and move status bar
but all of them still have rounded corners. I guess magisk module will do the job
Am I missing something? I want a bigger font on outside and smaller on inside. I see no option for this. Wtf? Seems dumb.
I agree. I also want the font on the front keyboard to be bigger on the front screen. I haven't found a workaround.
Try using Bixby routines.

Yep. Or Tasker.
Yeah I'm with you on this one front fonts are way to small
I played around with the minimum width numbers in developer options and adjusted the numbers to where i like them from with in the inner screen. I've noticed that when you go in the minimum width settings from the front screen the numbers are different then when u go in from the inside screen and if you try and adjust them from the front outer screen they won't stick they just default to there original numbers ?
Just tested with Bixby Routine but if doesn't work well. It often doesn't change as it is actually configured which is annoying.
Samsung will probably get around to enabling it latter...
