Hi everyone,
today I sent my p20 lite to amazon for a problem with the screen (it would seem a line at the bottom of the screen with burnt pixels). My question is: since I was about to unlock the bootloader with the code provided by the site when it was still possible to request it, I can still use it even if the device is different or connected to the IMEI and then to unlock it I have to go through other methods ?
As far as I know, bootloader code is tied to the first imei on p20, if device/imei is changed, so bootloader code. Additionaly, if you get new device with newest system updates you can't get bootloader unlock, or if so, it will cost ya around 50usd (unless DC unlocker (5usd) starts working again with newest os), but I don't know whether those more expensive methods even work, some people claim that they are, but all looks quite fishy imo.
Edit
okay, apparently, there's a way to unlock bootloader even with newest firmware - you need to downgrade os using this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/how-to/root-how-to-install-update-t3841557 and then get code using DC unlocker
bootloader code works for your bootloader software (i once bricked my p9 phone so hard, i needet to reflash its software with testpoint method, after that, my bootloader code didnt work, used dc unlocker 4 euros, to see what code are, then i got different code for same phone with same imei etc.) so, if nothing drasticaly not changed with your mainboard softare, you need to be able to use unlock code you got.

Recently got an R800at from ebay that was unlocked (first ever smartphone, woo). I was able to use my dad's sim card no problem, and dialing the number for the settings window showed no column stating whether the bootloader was allowed to be unlocked or not - according to some threads I've read, users who had unlocked Plays also had the same experience, leading me to believe my bootloader was indeed unlocked.
After following the Gin2Jellybean guide, I managed to brick my phone today (stuck on sony ericsson text), but restored via downloading a stock rom off the internet and installing via flashboot (the SUS and pc companion were having issues - they said no software was available or I had the most up to date software).
Now it seems I goofed up a second time; I was following the Gin2Jellybean guide again when I realized I was following the version for locked bootloaders! I was already on step 4 to install CWM when I realized this, but I decided to just try to install doomlord kernel v14 as per normal and hope that the doomlord root toolbox from the locked bootloder tutorial that I had used wouldn't conflict with anything.
Upon reading the directions for doomlord kernal v14, I decided to double check that my bootloader was still the same as yesterday (before I had bricked my phone). As it turns out, I now have a column for bootloader, and it says unlocking is not allowed. So what's the deal, was my phone's bootloader actually unlocked in the first place, and if so, why is it not unlocked now? According to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720201), bootloader unlocking is permanent.
Here's the link to the guide I'm following: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631144
Gonna go take the dog for a walk now and listen to some calm relaxing music... Hopefully I didn't screw myself over here.
So when you typed in that code, you got told that your bootloader can't be unlocked? If this is the case, you would have to pay to have it unlocked by someone such as Alejandrissimo. It may be that your bootloader was never able to be unlocked as i can't think of why that would change

SIM unlock and bootloader unlock are two very different things, as you've probably found out by now; the r800at models can't be bootloader-unlocked with the free Sony method; you're going to have to pay someone, and it'll cost you at least $20. If you got one of the phones from the guy selling them for $105 on eBay, I'm pretty sure those are SIM-unlocked only.
If you don't want to pay extra, there's nothing wrong with keeping it locked; there're a few ROMs you won't be able to use, and you can't change your kernel, but for the most part you should have a good experience.

Everything you said seems to be spot on. The only thing that doesn't add up is why there wasn't anything saying one way or the other whether my bootloader was unlocked yesterday, but now today there is.
And ya, I probably won't end up paying the $20; basically I just wanted to remove bloatware and have a nice looking interface. Besides the question about why there was nothing on my bootloader yesterday, can you say offhand whether my sim should still be unlocked? I don't have one nearby to test.
Go to the dialer and enter *#*#7378423#*#* and go to Service Info -> SIM lock. The bottom line should say SIM 0 if it's unlocked. As for why it wasn't showing the bootloader status, I don't know. I was having the same problem yesterday, on multiple ROMs, so perhaps it was added in some specific update.
Dear all :
Recently I bought an Arc S and want to unlock its bootloader, however it comes up with unlock fail. Really frustrated for that... Please give a helping hand
1. I 've tried the unlocking on three different machines Win 8 x64 Win7 x64 Win XP SP3 x86,
all showed Version 0.3 finished and oem unlock fail
2. I 've checked the IMEI code when the Arc S is on GB and ICS, both showed the same 15 digits IMEI.
3. I used the first 14 digits of my IMEI to apply the unlock Key by different explorer (IE,Firefox,Chrome), all showed the same unlock key
4. Track ID is functioning properly so I think the machine is not unlocked before
5. Bootloader Unlocked Allowed : Yes
6. Done all the methods stated in

Bootloader & SIM Unlocking:
PLEASE NOTE: The ONLY WAY to Sim Unlock your Phone is to PAY for it, so do some Googling and read which services have been recommended in the past.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE:
If you're Phone was manufactured AFTER a certain date, 12W11 (look under your battery for a similar number) then the Testpoint method no longer works, and People who have had Phones returned from a Service Centre are reporting that they can no longer unlock via the Testpoint method either.
- Know Your Android Bootloader - What it is and Why it Matters
There are three ways to Unlock yours, the Standard/Official method (For SimFree/Un-Branded Phones) which is explained HERE, (PLEASE NOTE! - You loose DRM when using the official method but not with the TestPoint) but if your Phone came from a Carrier then chances are (99%) you won't be able to use that method. There is a simple method of checking if you can or not which you'll find HERE.
Standard Unlocking:
Then there is the TestPoint method...
TestPoint Unlocking:
Two members - Alejandrissimo or Jinx13 offer a Remote Service which isn't free, but cheaper than anywhere else on the net, and when you take in to account you will also SIM Unlock and retain DRM using the Remote method it's worth it.

Mine states 12W48, but I don 't think it is branded or simlocked since I bought it from a local retailer in Hong Kong.
So even though it says Bootloader Unlocker allowed : Yes still might have chance that It is simlocked?
You should be able to unlock by the official method, which you wrote about.
You said it showed "oem unlock fail". What's the full error given in the log?
Guess I found the answer.
I think this is a refurbished Arc S and the IMEI code is a fake one.... "awesome" china goods....
Any method to unlock the phone given that YOU DON 'T KNOW your true imei?
Under the battery or in Dialer *#06#.
You don't get my meaning....
What I mean fake code is that
1. The IMEI stored in the phone
2. The IMEI stated in the sticker and box
are ALL FAKE.
I found that there are a lot of similar cases in some other Chinese Androids. They figured out the reason behind that is the IMEI code is modified by retailers (Well I don 't know how can they do it, but it seems very easy to them) and the IMEI you extracted by all means from the machine is no longer the original one...

Yes,
you can use test-point method to unlock which requires no IMEI number.
Oh boy..... What is going on....
Wait a second. This makes no sense. Firmware reports one IMEI, but phone is actually using a different one? How do you even use it then?
That 's why those chinese refurbished "brand new phone" are so awesome...
They claim that the phone is brand new and the evidence is that the IMEI stated in the phone , the box , the sticker are the same. However you use that that IMEI to unlock the phone and eventually fail. The only reason is that this is a refurbished one and those IMEI are fake.... There are numerous cases in the Chinese Android Forums.... You even can not unlock it by brute force (test point method)....
In that case we are not talking about Xperia Arc, but a chinese copy of this phone. Thereby this method does not work for you.

No. The machine itself is ORIGINAL, you can do a official update and apply the original ftf. The retailers received those second-hand goods and then INSERT A NEW IMEI and forge those stickers for the box and the machine so that the retailers can claim that it is brand new. I searched in the forum and found that some retailers will insert the same IMEI in to a batch of refurbished phone =.=
There are numerous methods for unlocking the phone but all resort to the IMEI, what if you have a fake IMEI =.=
Alright guys, I was trying to fix my fingerprint (which I ended up doing) by flashing the global dev ROM 7.8.31 via fastboot with the miflash tool but I accidentally locked the bootloader while doing so. My phone came with the bootloader unlocked and now I can no longer unlock the bootloader. in developper options, the OEM unlocking option is enabled but no matter what I do in fastboot, the process simply does not work. I get the remote token verification has failed message. I have tried every freakin guide out there but my phone now refuses to get unlocked. I can't flash anything with miflash tool anymore, it just says failed, even when trying to flash the global dev 7.8.31 ROM. Anyone can help me here? Xiaomi says my device is unsupported for unlocking yet it was unlocked from the start........
What i did was the official unlock guide from xiaomi where you will get the code from them. Sadly you have to wait for 3days to be able to unlock them again.
Well check this thread...

Well I did that but it kept on saying I had too many IP requests of sorts but I used TunnelBear and set my location to Hong Kong and that allowed me to bypass that and the request was passed through. Surprisingly, I got a message 4 hours later that said I was able to unlock it instead of the 2-7 days it took for most people to get theirs
Same happened to me. I re-lock bootloader to install android pay, and bricked my phone.
Have to reboot in EDL mode (after >50 tries) and flash again.
But... Flashed a locked bootloader version, so i have to request for official unlock (phone came unlocked)
Now I have unlocked bootloader, with Magisk and Safety Net module with Android Pay working fine.
PS: i also had the IP problem. Used a Chinese proxy to override restriction.
I am from China, I don't know English, this article is translated by Google, but I hope you can read it.
In our place, there are technologies for all models of G7 to unlock bootloader and ROOT (T-MOBILE version of the phone needs to be replaced with a cup to become a general version to unlock the bootloader, because this version of the phone cpu is encrypted), but, frustrating Yes, this technology is only in the hands of a few people, they do not intend to share, and they use this technology to gain benefits.
They provide remote unlocking of the bootloader and ROOT services, but need to pay 150 yuan, which is expensive for me and is meaningless.
I bought a G7 from a second-hand merchant who replaced the RAM with 4G and changed it to 6G. He said that the machine replaced the T-MOBILE version of the CPU, but the IMEI code displayed on the machine is the Korean blue version, and my G7 is Red, I don't know if G7 has changed the IMEI code. If so, please let me know, thank you
My mobile phone, the merchant has helped me unlock the bootloader and ROOT. And, since someone on XDA has shared the cracked version of LGUP, I can use it to brush in any version of my G7. I brushed Korea, T-MOBILE, and KDZ in Europe, and in Europe and Korea. The version of the system ROOT, because now only the European version and the Korean version of ROOT BOOT, I brushed into the boot through FASTBOOT, but, very strangely, I brushed the three versions of KDZ, only T-MOBILE version KDZ can enter FASTBOOT via ADB commands or keystrokes (maybe this phone is T-MOBILE version), other versions will only restart. Therefore, I have to first brush into the T-MOBILE version of KDZ into FASTBOOT to brush into the version of ROOT BOOT I want, then brush into the corresponding version of KDZ, and then install magisk, you get ROOT. However, I am not satisfied with the current system version, I want a newer version, and make it ROOT BOOT, I brushed KDZ many times, when I entered FASTBOOT again into BOOT, I found that I can't brush BOOT again. And FASTBOOT prompts to open the OEM to unlock
So, I entered the system, clicked on the developer option, found that the OEM unlock option has become gray, and can not be opened, so my phone can not be brushed into BOOT, I am looking for ways online, unfortunately, I have not I found a way to succeed. Later, I saw the latest V30 unlocking Bootloader post. It seems that after unlocking the bootloader, the OEM unlock will turn gray. It will take a few days to open again. However, I didn’t see it. Before the V30 post, I have already entered my G7 into FASTBOOT and re-locked the bootloader via the adb command.
Now I can open the OEM to unlock it, but it is useless. Because the bootloader is locked, I still can't brush it into the BOOT through FASTBOOT. Because the bootloader has been locked back by me, I did this, I thought my G7. Is the T-MOBILE version of the replacement CPU machine, in our case, it is said that after the T-MOVILE version of the machine to replace the CPU, T-MOBILE G7 can unlock the bootloader, and will not lock
Now, I am trying to find a way to unlock the bootloader, but no, yes, no, I hope to get some clues to unlock the bootloader by contacting those who have remotely unlocked the bootloader and ROOT by paying. However, no one wants to do this, they I even told me to go away, maybe because they have already paid to unlock it, and telling me will damage their interests. Finally, I learned about the process of remotely unlocking the bootloader by one person. Those who master the technology to unlock the bootloader do not want to expose it. They help the remote unlocking of the bootloader and block the operation process, just through the chat software. Release the command to let you connect to the computer or switch the phone into LG's brush mode, etc. I want to get some information through the screen of the phone. Unfortunately, that person doesn't remember, I only asked some strange news, that person's The mobile phone is a Korean mobile phone that does not unlock the bootloader. The mobile phone version is Android 9.0 South Korea's 20c. The remote flashing machine does not know how to enter the Korean version of FASTBOOT on this mobile phone that does not unlock the bootloader and ROOT. As far as I know, the Korean version The FASTBOOT of the mobile phone is hidden and cannot be opened by the command. This thing has been said on XDA... This thing makes me wonder, I thought they used the tool to brush into the European version of the system and then enter FASTBOOT to unlock. (Unfortunately, my G7 can only enter fastboot by brushing into the T-MOBILE version, the European version cannot pass the adb Or in the form of platinum enter). Some time ago, someone discussed on xda how to unlock the bootloader by brushing into the European version of the system. Since the cracking tool did not come out at the time, they hoped to use the octopus box to brush into the European version of the system and then unlock it (how to unlock without explanation), now crack The tool came out, it can make our G7 brush into any version of the system, but the discussion is gone...
If you have any ideas, please let me know and send it to this mailbox at [email protected]. I am not very good at using xda, and I need vpn on xda. I also need to pay for using VPN. I am poor, this is for me. It’s too much trouble...
*I have a few questions that need your help, 1 how to change the IMEI of G7, I want to try to get a network upgrade by changing imei to the corresponding system version.
2 How to unlock KDZ of G7, I need to unlock KDZ of G7 to extract BOOT.IMG into ROOT BOOT, I tried new methods and some old methods that I can find in my country to unlock KDZ of G7. failed
If you have a method, please let me know (hopefully have a tutorial), I hope to get your reply, thank you...
thanks for your sharing。
Intresting things they do in China. This is why I never trust buying a chinese brand. I bought in 2015 3 xiaomi mi3 mediatek clones from official shenzhen mi store. Never trust chinese brands again. That applyes for software also.
What version of kdz do you want? I have most versions from European model and 2 versions form Korean pie.
Update instructions, I used my friend's Korean version G7 to brush into T-MOBILE version KDZ tiles, can not boot, now only into 9008 mode, now confirmed that the replacement of CPU G7 seems to have become a strange machine, it seems that it can be cracked version of LGUP into any version of KDZ will not tiles, but other machines can not, such as my friend's Korean version machine brush into T-MOBILE machine. It will change into bricks, but one thing is certain that KDZ of Korean and European machines can be brushed into each other, because the publisher of LGUP cracked version is using this tool to make European G7 brush into Korean G7 9.0 system, but it is possible to brush KDZ randomly into Korean G7 system. I do not recommend that you do so. I do not think you have the hope that your machine will become a brick. If it has happened, I'm sorry, I can only say that, but I hope you can share it and let those who have not happened avoid it. I need more communication and look forward to your reply.
It has entered 9008 mode. Can I change it to European IMEI and ID, then get the unlock file, brush it into European system, and turn it into a European machine, then unlock BL. In theory, the hardware of G7 is the same... I hope someone can share the IMEI and device ID of the European version G7 to me. It's better to have unlock.bin file. I want to test it. My mailbox is [email protected].

No you can't. Starting with SD845 - IMEI and ID stays in CHIP and regenerates on every boot.
So, the only way to achieve it is to contact this taobao seller and he will resolder EU chip, flash EM firmware and unlock it and then re-solder back your chip and you will have EM firmware but IMEI and SN will be 0.
N.B.:Regarding G7 it is build in 3 factories and has 4 different Hardware revisions so stop thinking HW is identical and simply cross-flashing will do the trick
So no way to sim unlock the lg g7 tmobile?
lmg710em unsupported country
Greetings everyone;
Since my lmg710em is registered in an "unsupported country"; I cannot unlock my bootloader with official way. I've looked for hours to find an unofficial way but there is nothing... I have tried to flash France's kdz, but nothing changes. Does someone have the european version's unlock.bin file? This is my only hope for now.
It's really bad to be forbidden to use the device, which you paid for, as you like.
I really need help guys,
thank you all,
cheers...

Hey guys, have any one been able to unlock the bootloader and gain root access with this phone, or I am S.O.L?
I've tried going through Motorola's website to see if this phone is eligible for an unlock code, which proved fruitless.
Any leads would be helpful. Official, or if it's an exploit.

You are most likely SOL unfortunately. I was trying to get a list of "oem get unlock data" returns to compile them for comparison, because in theory, if you have enough of them, and their corresponding unlock codes, you could reverse engineer their keys and generate your own. Sadly, that never happened. Everyone has just unlocked and ran with it, never handing over the data. You'd need at least a few hundred before it could be reverse engineered, and I got like 2 at most. It might be possible to flash firmware from another model of G7 Play, and then get a proper unlock code from Motorola, but I've yet to see anyone try it. If the CID (which is part of the unlock data value) is AT&T it's just never going to work. But if the CID was say, RETUS or Sprint, it might work.
If you want to send me the result of oem get unlock data, then I might be able to help you out. It's a very slim chance, but it's better than nothing I suppose.
I asked this purely out of curiosity but I have a Boost Mobile G7 play that I plan on unlocking either tonight or tomorrow if I dump my CID partition is there any way to get the Motorola bootloader to let you write the CID or is it device-specific / impossible to do with the already locked bootloader?
