I have an XT1676 on the RETGB software channel that is stuck on the 1st January 2017 security update.
It was purchased from Amazon and is the 3GB dual SIM version.
Is there any way to upgrade the software without invalidating the warranty and maintaining the OTA update system?
If you goto settings about phone & select check for updates it will tell you if an update is available
If it says your device is up to date there is no update for your device at this time - don't ask when Motorola will update it as no one here will know
So can I not use fastboot to flash a reteu firmware?

You can use fastboot to flash any compatible firmware for your device
But if you select check for updates from the about phone section it will tell you if there is an update
Flashing firmware for other variants (although it will work if you know what you are doing) is not recommended & if done incorrectly will brick your phone
Just don't flash the partition or bootloader parts unless you really have to
Hi there.. yesterday our device got android pie update.
So i was thinking is there any way to revert back to oreo
With security patch before august..so that we can unlock the
Bootloader.
I have seen nokia 7+ has an option to revert back to oreo with april security patch and so they can unlock the bootloader.
Can we do the same for our device??
What is the last possible firmware version that can have the bootloader unlocked?
i saw in Funkyhuawei they can up to 10.0.0.8 in Europe.
I guess if a phone has gone all the way up to 10.0.0.154 with security patch Oct 2019 it cannot be unlocked any more. Correct?
I need this info to decide whether to buy a 2nd hand phone or not.
Any help will be welcome.
You can not unlock any version for now.
Hi guys,
I have an AT&T G8, network unlocked, and running the July 2020 Patch (G820UM20r). My question is: Is it possible to unlock its bootloader without having to brick it? My goal is to crossflash it in order to get recent updates, etc.
Additionally, after crossflash, can the boot loader be relocked to get DRM widevine level L1 ?
as stated in the title on my s20 plus (SM-G968W) there is no toggle for OEM Unlock, its been a long time since ive tried to root and from what ive been able to pick up from googling is it may not be supported for my country or cpu manufacturer. ive tried the change date and time trick that every guide suggested and it did nothing.

it has a Snapdragon processor on Bell (BMC)
What is your baseband version?
If I recall correctly, you must be on v1 bootloader (pre Mar 2021 security update) in order to be able to unlock.
See this thread on how to unlock the bootloader (paid service):

i cant downgrade to the original bootloader?
I do not believe that it will allow you to downgrade from A13 to A11. You could try and flash G986WVLU1CTLB (A11) via the patched Odin, but no guarantees. It may also wipe your phone, so make sure that you backup before you try.
Patched Odin can be found here:
