please suggest kernal for 9.0 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Important fast charging, battery backup and pubg performance

Derp kernel is mostly used among Pie roms. Works pretty well (2 days battery with 7 hours screen on time)

Why is this in development section? Just WHY?
There is literally a "Questions and answers" section.

How many times has this been asked?
Got to be one of the silliest questions to ask, as you will get a different answer all the time.
Everyone has their own opinion of what the best rom is.
I wont ask this stupid sort of question here!!! All I do is READ THE FORUMS and then try flashing different rom myself to see what I like.
even if you're right. it's not nice to curse people and call them stupid.
so keep on flashing but start with your mouth first.
For me, best battery rom with panorama shoot is defy+ german gingerbread walter edition..

I was not calling them stupid. Just trying to say that if people take the time to search the forums instead of posting here and asking the same question over and over they should find the answer to their questions that way.

Sorry, i already spent hours with reading and flashing but i couldn't find any rom with the simple specs i need.
Please continue read and spend more from your free time on the board and someday maybe you can be able to write something useful.
My opinion
dude, u have 5 or 6 options for this phone
either use a moded version of the gb roms (walter or iaio);this is the best thing u need for panorma as it comes natively with that, battery life same as all (2 days of normal use) but they are the slowest of all
cm7 (xda version or official one); no panorama no 720p just pure speed and awesomeness, battery life is 2 days of normal use (6 hours if u play streamed video)
miui (language specific mods, cmui, wjui); eyecandy but slow imo, battery life 2 days with normal use
stock froyo rom (or bb mods); using patches u can get panorama to work on that, this is best for battery life i got 3 days a few times with normal use
so yah..u decide, i use cm7 as it comes with all the codecs, volume track skipper, no lag in games, and u can customize it as u like as they are tons of themes on this forum or on the market

the roms are there but this thread was useful. i asked many times to have a custom roms summary and ranking, upsides and downsides instead of trying them all one by one. it's painful with slow internet connection for some of us.

This rom is online for just one day. After one day you are making claims about battery life? How did you calibrate it?

He sounds like an idiot. And cmiui is the best. Its not slow like other miui roms, and themes are great
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
galnet miui is the fastest of the miui's i've tried for the defy so far, but i cant speak about the battery backup because i removed it in a few hours,
loads of eye candy, maybe something the devs could/will use
it says its running 4.1 but it feels like 2.3.7.
sorry didnt check the camera!
as for walters ms2ginger 2.3.4
its clean, fast and has panorama. the battery life i get is about 12 hours with NO hard usage, i calibrated my battery thrice and removed the battery stat from the boot menu but it didnt seem to help. (any one who can help me, bless your soul)
what i like about it is the blur launcher which is somewhat easier but i thought that was eating up my batery so i used zeam, 13 hours backup, so hmmm maybe i went wrong somewhere!
Argen2Stone is nice, but its blue in the wrong places! :S cant talk about battery back up but since its based on ms2ginger 1 it has the same issues as that with a decent blue theme.
cm7 is fast. its pure speed. well if your looking to use a decent camera app then its not the place you should be, took me a while to get used to it.
doesnt shoot 720p. i didnt check for panorama.
the best battery back up i got till date is on my stock, company flashed froyo 2.2.2 sea 15 JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-33-1 of 4 days with decent call and message usage. and the occasional round of angry birds or fruit ninja.
so, yeah as remuseu said, try try untill you find what you like!
ps:if any one can help me with the battery problem on ms2ginger 2 i would be VERY thankful!
has anyone tried the jboogie???whats it like??screen shots please??

[Q] Galaxy Nexus: Kernel and ROM

Hello xda-developers.
My name's Mirko and I from Italy. It's my first time that I post in this beautiful forum of all kind of developers
I have Galaxy Nexus (GSM. Italian version) with Android 4.1.1 stock. My small questions are:
- I suffer from short battery life, it's better change kernel or ROM?
- If it's better change kernel, what you can recommend to me and why?
- If it's better change ROM, what you can recommend to me and why?
At the moment only these are my questions.
Thanks for all answer.. It's my first time that I unlock bootloader and root my device (I have to do it), and I'm a full newbie of modding
Thanks thanks and thanks, this forum is the best.. Keep on the fantastic work and congratulation to all modder, staff and all!
P.s. sorry for my bad english
Best Regards.
- Mirko Pizii
Before you do any of the stated you need to find out weather your phone is gsm or cdma because you CANNOT put a CDMA on a GSM phone or the other way around.
Kernels affect battery life. I recommend Franco kernel or Lean kernel
Roms affect user interface (the OS operating System on the phone) - I recommend for a starting stable rom Cyanogen (its what MOST roms are based off of) then if you want to tweak your phone more I recommend CodeNamedDroid or ParanoidAndroid. (these are the three that I use the most)
also i would recommend this thread about battery life http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599025
i hope my english has not confused you. Dont be surprised if noone else responds to you in this page, they have a bad habit of doing this.

I give a watch to Franco kernel or Lean kernel but all say it's better both.. Don't know what the difference before start my first flash.
Thanks for roms..
What do you think? It's ok only kernel or it's better change rom?
Thanks for battery life thread, I'll follow
No no, your english won't confuse me.. I can understand but I have problem with speak to other

Franco's has horrible battery life...
paranoidandroid with trinity is the best imo
Yes, custom kernels can improve battery life if you're willing to trade in a little performance. Can't have both at the same time.

Extended in my opinion
Such questions are quite useless. If there are 12 different kernels for Whyred, you will get probably 13 different recommendations.
Mistakes can happen, no reason to be rude, report it, we'll move it.

The fact that it is T-mobile shouldnt matter, its the same model as the NA/Global variant. Custom ROM's are in the works. Once one becomes public, the scene will explode with others able to cherry pick what they need.

This is true - My last Op7pro I bought about 9 months after release, and there was a twrp etc etc by then, so just give it more time, this phone is really new.
Off topic, but is anybody else sick of the overheating? FML, I hate this phone cuz of that only, wish they'd fix it somehow (yeah right lol)...
avid_droid said:
There is one current tom being built,Paranoid Android, but its not close to being ready for mainstream. Hold on for a bit and hopefully soon it will be released. Last I knew the rom wasn't fully functional. Able to boot with things not working. The devs on it are waiting for their own development devices. Could be a bit but hold on.

Where can I follow progress? I'd love to track and possibly contribute. If you know where any other ROMs are being worked on I'd love to join there as well
EDIT: I see on their gerrit they added support for the 9 and 9 Pro
I'm really hoping to see ROMs make better use of the LTPO display for power saving. As is, it pretty much always runs at 120 and then sometimes drops to 60. I feel like it should drop to 60 any time im not touching it, and even lower if theres no media player. my settings app does not need to sit at 120hz lol

Right but Nostalgia aside, CrDroid or dare I say vanilla Lineage are far better options - in my humble opinion.
I'm only saying this because I flashed havoc on 3 different devices, and it's always been riddled with bugs and broken features.
I hope pixel rom is coming too. I don't like roms with crowded settings.
