After flashing the latest global stable miui 10 ROM on mi max 3, I can't flash tarp without bootloop or stuck on mi logo. My device is Chinese version and before installing global stable miui 10, I flashed twrp successfully. Now I can't even flash eu ROM, it just sticks on mi logo. I tried with magisk, but unlucky. Anyone have the same experience? At last my decision is, this version of miui is the culprit, though I m not sure!

Every possible order.
1st, flashed twrp/s
2. Formatted data, because it asked for password to decrypt
3. Mount every possible partition
4. Wipe all without 'system'
5. Flash eu ROM
6. And it stucks on boot.
And only possible sollution after this stuck for me is, to flash again a fastboot ROM. No recovery ROM at this stage gains a successful boot.
Note: I have to flash several times my phone fastboot ROM to recover phone and try again again. No success. Every time I try it starts from decrypt data option and stuck on boot. Even I tried with flashing magisk also, after flashing eu ROM. But no luck.
At a point I found 'reset phone' option and gboard has stopped bug, but whenever I try to reset, it goes to twrp.
Because global stable and TWRP don't work together. Have you seen anyone root global stable? I haven't. This is why global is not as versatile compared to xiaomi.eu roms.

Did you try twrp app? Just as a test. Also try magisk app to install magisk to see if it helps. When we were testing Resurrected kernel, magisk was needed to get past boot screen. None if this is proven to work, but just trying to see if it helps.

Yes, tried official twrp. Even tried official twrp with magisk. In both case it stuck with booting screen/mi logo. No luck.
Edit: my all tries are: twrp+reboot / twrp+eu rom+magisk+reboot / twrp+lagzyflasher+reboot..
All the combinations resulted in a bootloop/ stuck in mi logo. In every time the only work around to past the boot screen is to flash again a fastboot rom. Only that time it successfully boots.

When you flash TWRP, you can boot to twrp or no? If you can, then it's when you flash an eu rom where you get stuck? Are you factory resetting before flashing eu rom?

Yes, i can boot to twrp. And always reset to factory/wipe everything before and after flashing eu rom. As i edited my comment above, with just twrp+magisk+reset+reboot / twrp+reset+eurom+magisk+reset+boot every times it gets stuck on reboot after flash.

Who told you to reset after flashing? That's why you're having issues. Don't reset after eu or magisk.
Twrp - factory reset - eu rom - reboot. That's it.

Wiping cache and dalvik cache are not the same as reset. They shouldn't cause any problems. Regardless, try without wiping them.

Don't know what to tell you then. Sorry, buddy.
Try this
1- TWRP flashing method:
Boot Twrp or Redwolf using “fastboot boot XYZ.img”
Copy img to device then flash Image file of XYZ.img again from recovery.
Flash Lazyflasher Or Magisk
Or you can just flash any AOSP/LOS based ROM

Hey all. I got my mi6 recently. and I installed twrp on it, and flashed magisk. I was trying to install atmos in recovery mod, then I remembered that I hadn't already downloaded the file. For some damn reason I decided to wipe my device. however that didn't go well, and now I'm stuck on a twrp load loop.
I've already tried this command unsuccessfully.
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/misc bs=256 count=1 conv=notrunc
Also in desperation, I flashed my phone, rebooted it and etc.
What else can I try?
you can re-flash Twrp in fastboot mode, then boot to twrp, connect to you pc, it will recognize your phone as usb storage.
Down load you rom, copy it to your phone, then install rom by Twrp.

Can you boot to TWPR ?
- Yes: you can connect to PC and copy your rom, then install
- No: flash fastboot rom: download from Xiaomi site, use Miflash to flash in fastboot, then flash TWPR again.

you may need to use a mobile browser. But there are mirrors.
I managed to fix the problem, by accident.
I just wiped Dalvik cache and data using the wiping tool in twrp.
after the reboot, TWRP was gone, and a fresh rom was installed with all my data, gone. However, that already has happened. So it wasn't a great loss.
I'm not technical, so I don't really know what made caused the loop, or how another wipe fixed it. So if anyone can explain it better, the floor is yours.
Thanks for the support.

Hi. I have installed this global rom from here:

flashed it with TWRP, wiped cache and after system boot i have:
select language
select region
and after that i got message: "function find device has been closed", and the settings menu just restart. I can't do nothing bcs of this loop error...
Any ideas how to fix this?
Also after entering recovery by vol+ & power it's running xiaomi recovery, not TWRP... why?
Ok please delete, already wiped once again cache and now is fine

If you still want to root it again, after flasing new rom go to twero and then go to wipe then format, you should format your phone after rom flashing, try this and inform me
Yes yes! I want to root phone once again. So the steps are these:
1) booting into twrp with adb from pc.
2) from the twrp menu wiping and formating the data
3) instaling new rom
Is this true?
Thanks!
If you want to root you don't have to install another custom rom unless you don't like the stock rom. If you like your current stock rom, then flash twrp in fastboot and download the latest magisk stable zip and also diasble dm-verity zip. Using twrp first flash disable dm-verity zip and then magisk zip, wipe dalvik cache and reboot to system, hopefully you would have root permission.

From your stock rom extract the boot.img and place it on your SD card. Flash the boot image using twrp or you can also flash in fastboot, then reboot. Now boot to twrp recovery and flash dm-verity first and then magisk zip. Worked for me I'm having root permission with stock rom.

I think it may be because of YouTube vanced module. If you remove the module you might be able to boot. In twrp in the advanced option select file manager and then select data/adb/magisk/ in that you will find the list of installed modules, select the one which is causing the problem and delete that folder and try to reboot.

Hey guys,
It's nice to see preloader is received and I installed first time when I find it. Currently when I press Power+Up, it will have a DOS-like menu for me to choose, It occured after I installed preloader. At his point, can I install TWRP and then root? For the rom to work the way it is supposed to, you have to wipe everything except sd card. So you can backup those apps to sdcard or not. I advise you wipe everything, because it might bring you problems if you don't wipe them.
Okay I just did all this today. Let me quote it step by step.
1. Unlocked bootloader after waiting for 168 hours.
2. Flashed Indian version of MIUI 11 rom based on Android 9.
3. Flashed Pre-loader files & lk and lk2 files successively.
4. Flashed LR TWRP recovery.
5. Flashed a popular custom rom but found it buggy.
6. Reverted back to the Indian Rom again.

At first I installed LR TWRP but couldn't boot into custom OS. Then I installed Orangefox and I was able to boot. Yes pre-loader was already there... I guess pre-loader goes away when you flash any official MIUI rom as this happened with me. After flashing the Indian ROM again I had to flash pre-loader and recovery files.

Cesium OS. Overall its a good os, much stable and can be definitely used as a daily driver except for the fingerprint sensor issue. If you try to wake up device using fingerprint, it freezes and never displays the screen even when the power button is pressed. You have to restart the device to make it workable. Its a known bug.

Just install Magisk and load any custom os of your choice when you are done installing twrp. Remember, some roms require a specific version of recovery and Magisk installation also needs to be done carefully. Good Luck!

Oh. What about the pre-loader? Didn't you install it in the first place?

In a new phone there is no pre-loader installed.
Hey, I just unlocked my bootloader after waiting for the 7 days today I wanted to install the MIUI EU, and i follow the steps that they have on their website, installed and boot into recovery mode TWRP format data, and install the ROM that i downloaded, after that the wipe on the cache. When i rebooted my phone he didn't boot and was stuck on POCO screen. After 1 hour it was stuck on that, I decided to try and flash stock firmware with miflash tool, did the steps and after 604 seconds it shows success on the result but it doesn't boot the same thing stuck on POCO screen.
You need to Format data. Not cache.
Then the phone will boot up just fine.
Go, do it again.
Try to flash it using miflash again.
Then Boot TWRP, then flash it again + ( FORMAT DATA)

I'm facing the issue that I cannot access the internal storage to flash the ROM now or paste it again
Don't freak out. Your phone is fine. As long as you can boot into Fastboot. Then you are fine.

otg? sorry, I'm kinda new to this situation. I've flashed many custom ROMs before but have never had an issue. Yes, my phone can boot into Fastboot without a problem. Right now I'm downloading a different version of the stock firmware (IDK i think it could fix the not booting problem after the miflash tool) if it works i will leave it with the stock firmware if not i will try to find a solution to fix the issue of not accessing the internal storage on twrp

I had the same issue before. Just reflash the stock (be aware, don't select "Wipe data and lock")
When the phone boots up. Flash twrp or just boot it. Then flash Xiaomi EU then FORMAT DATA.
Everything will be just fine.

I already booted with another stock firmware, i just re-downloaded and it worked guess for now i will stick with the stock one. Thank you both for the help!
You're welcome.
As you wish, just try, at least to unlock bootloader since you're still fresh. As to make sure that it can be unlocked.

I will think later this day about installing a custom ROM. but I don't hate miui as much as people usually hate, I find some things extremely useful I just don't like some UI esthetics i prefer the minimalist look of pure android. But some things like the cloning apps are very handy to me. Some bugs that are present atm on custom ROMs for this device like the double-tap to wake up are very negative to me because I have always used that feature since 2014 and I'm extremely used to it.
