I have a carrier bought phone and noticed that our country has an unlocked version of the S9+ firmware which updates pretty much faster based on sammobile database. Is it safe to flash that one in my phone and what are some differences that I should expect? Also, will my firmware updates be now based on that firmware?
If it helps, I'm from the Philippines and I bought it from Globe.

I imported a Note 10+ from Canada (N975W) it was from Rogers, but they sell all their devices unlocked anyway, I'm here in the UK & using a EE sim card, everything works perfect apart from Samsung Pay.
So my question is, am I on the best possible firmware I can be?, In the UK we have the Exynos Note 10+ so it's not possible for me to flash UK firmware right?
Also my CSC is XAC/XAC/XAC/RWC
XAC is unlocked, RWC is Rogers, so is it just displaying that the device was originally on Rogers & is now on unlocked?
Any help / information is appreciated.
So RWC you can't change and it doesn't affect software updates. First two makes sense what updates and where you gonna recieve | Country / Region / Operator. Unlocked or not, it doesn't give you faster updates. XAC is sim free version code for Canada, I believe. And don't flash Exynos firmware on SD.

So in summary XAC is the best firmware I can be on because it's SIM free which means no carrier bloat, RWC is meaningless (just signifies the original firmware I'm guessing?), & I can't get but also don't need, UK firmware?
Yes you are right. And yes you don't need UK firmware.

Hey guys, so my question is how can I upgrade my Note 10 plus to Android 10, I have the SM-N975U model with ATT, i live outside the US so the person who sold me the phone unlocked it, the thing is that I was checking the original firmware for this model in Sammobile but alm versions are from different carriers (Verizon, Xfinity, etc) I didn't find the one for ATT. Does this make a difference? which firmware should I download?
Just follow this thread. You can use T-Mobile or Verizon firmware. All the same but Just use Home CSC for no data loss. You will not find the AT&T firmware using Frija or Sammobile (or anywhere unless someone extracts it & posts).
Check this thread out.

Hi mate. I don't know if it's gonna help, but I live in UK and I had 975U too which was on Android 9.
System didn't allowed me to update it, probably cause it was on AT&T so I followed a tutorial on yt and updated it to 975U1 Android 10.
EDIT:

For those who aren't already aware, N975U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Note 10+. The N975U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100%...

So please forgive me if this has been answered before, but I have not been able to zero in on an answer to my problem by searching the forums.
I recently bought an international SM-N975F/DS that I bought through a reseller in Canada. The home region is Vietnam. I am using SIMs from Telus and Roger's. This is my first international version of a phone that I have owned.
I would like to upgrade to the latest firmware but the phone is telling me that I am up to date. I'm happy to wait for the the regional update, but i am not sure it will be triggered while I use the phone in Canada.
I am open to flashing another version of the firmware in order to get the update, but I am confused as to what version to use. Since the dual sim version of the phone was never released in Canada, I'm not sure what version of the firmware I should download.
Also, if I am able to switch the region to one where Samsung Pay will work in Canada, I would love to do that. I'm not sure which country version will work here.
And my final question.... if I do flash a different region will it update manually or will I have to download and flash each new software update and security patch?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
I believe you need to figure out which sm-n975F receives the fastest updates and then flash to that specific region .
what's best way to flash Verizon android 12 on at&t branded unlocked z fold?
download Verizon version and flash or do I need to change CSC or something first. oi it's been a long time doing this
checking for updates OTA does basically nothing
Maybe just do this

So I just bought used Galaxy S20 Ultra but the firmware is stuck at One UI 2.1 with latest update in June 1, 2020. When I want to update manually it say my CSC code is XAA/XAA/VZW. I googled and found that's Verizon unlocked device. The problem is the only available firmware in https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G988U is VZW and XAS. If I flashed using VZW firmware does my device going to get carrier locked or should I choose using XAS? I live in Asian so obviously I don't want VZW locked.
bump. can i bump this post?
