Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Closing Background Apps Too Aggressively? - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

I just started using my brand new Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite yesterday.
I will be running Pokemon Go on this phone constantly.
I have noticed that after not using the phone for a while, the phone seems to close down Pokemon Go.
I have run Pokemon Go on many other Android devices, and none of them exhibit this behavior.
How do I stop the phone from shutting down Pokemon Go?
Even when I have a Gotcha connected, the game still gets shut down.
I've already tried change the battery setting for Pokemon Go to "Don't optimize" but that does not appear to have made a difference.

do u activate the dont keep activity on developer setting?

No, I didn't even have Developer Options enabled when I noticed the problem. I have the menu enabled now but that option is disabled.

I've found somewhat of a workaround.
If I have Pokemon Go on the screen before turning the screen off, the game doesn't get closed.
If I have Pokemon Go running in the background and then go to the home screen before turning the screen off, the game gets closed.
So as long as I have the game in the foreground before turning the screen off, the game stays running.
Not perfectly ideal, but I think I can live with it.

You have to enter the smartphone setting from the battery. Choose here the overview with the app's (App-Start and Manage background executions ...) Search here the application Pokemon Go herraus and Activate that she uses "Manuel" all 3 manual settings must be turned on

Hey guys, any solution to this? My background apps keep closing for no reason.

Years later, same problem.
I have this problem too, since Android 10 came.
One friend has the same phone with the same problem.
I noted that the phone never uses the 4GB of ram too.
What if I install MIUI12 ROM?

Unfortunately, you have chosen a bad Android phone. A quick look at XDA devs would have immediately raised red flags. Xiaomi have updated to Android 10 at the beginning of 2020 but immediately stopped fixing problems. Sorry to disappoint, we are all in similar situations. My temporary fix is to restart the phone once every day.

Downgrade to 9 and all the issues are gone.

GPS uplink time

Hi folks,
how much time to you need until your GPS link is stable and ready to use?
If i am using Tomtom 6 and starting it the first time it minimum 4 minutes until the routing can be startet.
While routing shutting down tomtom und restarting it the link is stable within 10 seconds, the same behaviour als after a tunnel.
But it is very annoying to wait that long time.
Is there a difference to other Navigation Programs?
Which times do you have?
Is QuickGPs helping you?
German (deutsch ):
Hi MrButcher,
English:
Hi MrButcher,
if you start you TT the first time ever, it can take up to a few minutes, mine took about 2 minutes (i already had QuickGPS data).
In normal day use, i start TT and it takes about 20-60s to get a signal.
I never tried it without QuickGPS so i cant say anything about that.
Tip - if you install GPSgate (Franson) it keeps the GPS running so you get a fix almost instantly.
What you should be getting from the other posts is that usage will determine lock times. Don't use it for too long, and the sat positions are obviously way out of where your unit last knew them to be. Use it frequently and the sat positions haven't varied that much that your device know where they are (or in the ball park)...
How it works is obviously more technical, but that's what you're experiencing, in plain english!
mine takes about 15-20 secs with TT6
I use the Quick GPS but ONLY when synced at home, so no extra data charges
Hope that helps

defy slowness and crash applications

I replaced my first defy because i hear the echo of my voice during a call (also the new one has same problem),
in the new defy some applications crash, also home, sometimes when I was surfing appeared the notice of the high consumption of CPU at 100%, but i use "Task Manager" that closes automatically after 10min of inactivity some applications
has also been updated to 2.3.6 ( the bild 231 that is not yet "rootabile") and reset to default, I tried adw launcher launcher and go but I notice, however, sometimes chashes applications and it's slowness to commands
is there an other phone like defy+ that hasn't this problems? like xperio neo, xperia ray...
Well, what was the original phone OS before updated? There is a known bug in the usa versions of 2.2.1 that causes CPU max-out. But I suppose it could be in some of the other builds. The only easy solution was to set debugging to ON. Might be worth a try if you haven't already.
first there was 2.3.4

Wifi Error, strange behaviour - continously slows down after new rom

I've got a huge problem with my Desire HD that just drives me crazy and still I don't know what to do about it - googled for hours, haven't found anything but unfinished threads.
It started a while ago, I had a ICS - Aokp installed. Some day, WiFi turned off and when I tried to turn it back on, it either remained in the "Turning WiFi on..."-state or gave me an "WiFi Error". Also, the whole OS slowed down terrible.
I installed a 2.3.7 Sense ROM. Worked for a few days, I think. Then one time, the phone froze and after reboot, the WiFi Error occured again.
Switched to Virtuous Infinity v1.31.0. Worked fine for maybe a day, froze, same error. And worst of all, it slew down more than before. Example: Unlocking Screen -> (3 Seconds) -> Displays GUI -> Whatsapp Link -> 10+ Seconds -> displays WhatsApp - but that's not even the end, try to enter text when it displays 1 sign per second. You finish typing, wait 15 seconds to hit the "send"-button.
2 hours ago i installed JellyBean (4.1.1). Without it freezing, WiFi just turned off an won't turn on again. I rebooted, while bootanimation, it froze. I took out the battery, rebooted - it doesn't run as smooth as it did before and WiFi still won't work again. I think in the next 14 days it will slow down again like it did before. It's like there would be processes in the background that need the entire CPU power, but anyway i monitored CPU usage using SystemPanel. There was no CPU usage recorded. I killed apps, no difference. I also intended to monitor the CPU speed, but it wasn't possible with the previous kernel.
Do you have any suggestions, what i could do? Right now, i just want to smash my phone.. it's not dependable. Sometimes my phone rings but won't turn on the screen cause of the stability problems .. I am through so many Android versions, I'm just tired of installing new roms every 2 weeks so i can still use my phone.

when my screen off no traffic [problem]

i have this problem with my " mobile data" not wifi .. wifi works fine i guess its only the mobile data when the screen is off it stops working and when i swipe open the screen again i find alot of notifications and stuff from social apps i kept looking and searching before i post here all i found was this and its about the wifi and its already set to never
menu>settings>wifi>menu>advanced>keep wifi on during sleep>always
btw im using wanamlite rom 3.0.31 i guess im still a noob here got my phone like 2 weeks ago or something switching from an iphone 4s
What do you mean, that you find a lot of notifications from social apps? Are they suggesting that there is no connection or are they normal informations? As far as I know it is normal that those notification gather over time when screen is off and are displayed en masse after screen is turned on. If you are certain that mobile data is off when screen is off, look for some installed app that is supposed to "save energy" as they are sometimes configured to disable data (sometimes all data) to safeguard battery.

No notifications?

I got my MI6 a few days ago and I am quite happy with it. I am still running it on 8.2.2.0 global. The only thing that is not working properly is that the notifications, especially Whatsapp and Threema don't give me any kind of notifications and the messages just show up when I open the app itself. Is there any setting I have to do so I get all the notifications?
Ok, that's caused by the battery optimization of the MIUI.
Follow this steps:
Open the "Security App"
Tap on "Permissions"(the third icon on the second row)
Tap on "Autostart"
Tap on the slider next to the app you want to enable Autostart for
If that's not enough, do this:
Open the "Security App"
Tap on "Battery"(the first icon on the second row)
Tap on "App battery saver"
Choose the app you want to disable battery saver for and choose "No restrictions"
Very cool, thanks for your answer! Now I am getting annoyed again by all the notifications
With the newest global stable miui 9 I have the probleme that the phone goes into deep doze mode (what is normally desirable) after ~45 -75 minutes but so nearly no GCM notifications come through (except whatsapp, pushbullet and hangouts I noticed so far).
I tried all the steps above and different configurations in the developer settings. But the notifications only arrive when I turn the screen on or move the phone.

For this you have to completely disable MIUI for all apps and then from the developer options.
With Global 8.5.0 stable I noticed that a few apps give delayed notifications (all optimations off) eg Twitter, Instagram, live score apps etc. Messenger like Whatsapp, Telegram and Hangouts work.
Notifications come instantly when I turn on the screen or they come up to 10 minute late.
Maybe someone has got a tipp...

Disable MIUI optimisations from developer settings.
Or upgrade to MIUI 9/10
10 didn't have this problem when I tested with miui optimisations on or off.
Custom ROMs don't have this issue. It is just the MIUI battery saver killing services in the background which is optimised for China and so it often kills google services.
They seem to have resolved this from 9 onwards
Ah sorry, wrong information I m using 9.5.8.0 stable and the bug I described is since 2 weeks Made a factory reset but no changes. There weren't any big updates so it seems it has to do with googles changes in framework, gcm (fcm) and so on. Maybe here is somebody who uses also the 9.5.8.0 global stable and noticed something like I do with some (non messenger) apps.
After upgrading to Miui 10 global version and updatet to newest play services the probleme I described is still there.
Does anybody else use the global version and observed also a kind of delayed notifications?

It has happend to me too (after miui 10 update) you can go to each apps settings, for example whatsapp, and enable everything under notifications for EVERY notification available for that app, i trully wish xiaomi would make it like almost every other android phone manufacturer who keep the notifications just like the freaking stock android way...
Okay. That means you will get notifications you don't want?
