Lenovo P2 - Custom ROM - Android PIE

Hello Everybody!
I am new here. I found some answers but not all what i am looking.
1. I woud like to install custom ROM to my Lenovo P2, cause my provider not update the system. Anybody can give me a good tutorial how i do it?
Is there any android pie build that support main features (VOLTE, FastCharge, Extra Battery Save on left side slider on phone etc)?
1) Does Fast Charging work in Android pie 9?
2) Does the Side button, (ultra power saving) work?
3) Is camera (both front and rear) working properly without issues?
4) Can we change the phone name to Lenovo P2 from Pixel XL?
5) Will the phone be 'Certified' in google play store? - I mean, can we use Magisk Hide feature in this after rooting?
6) Can both sim 1 and 2 have VOLTE? - If not at a time but wither of them?..
7) Generally how is it compared to previous OS? Any bugs you noticed so far?

No stable android pie ROMs. Only the treble builds available
4 question is weird
5 always possible with Magisk and latest gapps
6 must be tested
2 doesn't work on any custom ROM available.

Cr droid pie ROM

Is it any better than Liquid Remix? What are the differences between those 2?

Trust me I have tried them all multiple times and I think Resurrection Remix pie 7.0.1 is the best by far.

From the Twitter posts it looks like it's still not compatible with the Pixel 3 (sorry, meant on Q).

I installed it
Clear the checks
still have root

Won't work with Q but should work with Pie. Unfortunately, it will probably break Magisk mods till their updated.

My magisk mods still work with latest beta and pie rom

Seems fine for me.

Updated via Magisk manager, all good so far. Modules are working.

There is no Twrp for Android Q. The current Twrp won't mount any of the partitions

Just installed it and is working fine . Seems Q is gonna be difficult to root on Pixel 3 XL . Dev still can't get Magisk to work on Q while it's working on Pixel and Pixel 2.

. I did abunch of reading around and pretty sure I seen he got it to work just ain't releasing it til the next round of beta updates which should be around the beginning of April

Best android Q gsi for MOTO z2 play? (ALBUS)

So after testing AOSP extended, LineageOS17, Havoc OS and even DerpFest OS, I think moto z2 (albus) doesn't do great with GSI for android 10. There always was something off and the stability was far from one you expect from a gsi. I used KVT 2.3 aroma to boot. However, there are other devs releasing unofficial GSI roms as well which I haven't tested. Like ExPressLukeGSI or Trisquel collection which probably has a special thing for albus. So I am posting this expecting replies from anyone showing love to z2 play, If you know something then tell me. If you want to test the GSIs and can't find links, ask me.

i would to try gsi but i use daily mt phone and i need to something stable at now mokee is working ok but i had a issue with calls. i never try this treble roms xd

I get it It's sometimes hard to daily drive Treble roms. Which Rom are you currently using tho? Lineage?

i tried havoc but after 5 minutes my phone rebooted and never can boot again, so i back to mokee. i used lineage but change my mind

Mokee Q or Pie? This ROM are stable?

does anyone know if they are developing a gsi or normal Android 10 ROM for Moto Z2 Albus because I have been waiting for it for a long time and I would like to ask that please continue supporting this team please

@Euiz702 GSI is not specific for some device. You can use almost any GSI on Z2 Play already now

What kind of problems did you have? I'm testing phusson's plain AOSP and so far works good. Scrolling and some apps, especially Google maps run smoother than on stock Pie. I'm using modded Google Camera 6 (shared in Apps&Mods forum), it works good, just HDR+ can't be turned off and it tends to improve reality too much. I just didn't manage to install Magisk yet.
I also wanted to try Trisquels's gsi-albus stuff, but SourceForge has been working badly recently and I wasn't able to download anything

Your are using phusson pie or 10?

10 with V2.3 kvt (btw, previous post should not be quoted )
I also tried some Pies a couple of months earlier with V7 kvt but camera wasn't working there

Thanks, it worked. But I'm probably going back to stock, the battery life is pretty bad

with normal browser surfing and using social networks, how many hours does the screen give out?

If you want a rom with good battery life, try DescendantOS x (10). Havoc is good, but not for battery life.

I don't know and I already left. But before, my battery usually lasted for one day, now maybe half maybe a bit more.
I tried DescendantX, but it seemed a bit undone with something in status bar. But maybe I try it once more.
I also tried GSIs from gsi-albus project on SourceForge and they seem good, but they have always navigation bar on and fingerprint gestures off (doesn't matter what you select in kvt installer). So I wander whether they are really built with Albums in mind...

Can someone here help me decide whether to take the plunge or not into flashing a custom ROM on my daily driver Z2 Play, by clarifying some of my doubts.
1) Whether the Moto experiences like Moto Actions and Moto Display will be available when using custom ROMs and GSIs?
2) Will it be possible to return to stock ROM after flashing a 64bit Treble based ROM?
3) Also what is the best, most stable Android 9 or 10 based ROMs for Moto Z2 Play?

There are no stable Pie or Q ROMs for Z2 Play unfortunately. Only GSI ones that are all more or less bugged and it seems like no developer is interested in this phone anymore. For stable ROMs you can choose only from 8.1 ones which are all quite outdated at this point as well. Anyway I use unofficial LineageOS 15.1 as daily driver for like 1,5 year now and have no complaints, it's absolutely rock solid and latest release has February 2020 security patches. Moto actions, Moto display (kinda, it's different than stock) and fingerprint gestures works.
But honestly I don't think there is much point in flashing custom rom now, especially if you have stock 9.0.

Pixel experience plus on Albus
I have flashed the Pixel Experience Plus Android 10 GSI on Albus by using the latest KVT 2.4 and it works like charm.
There are no major bugs, everything is working fine like basic functions and performance is awesome.
Only ambient display is not working, other than that almost everything is working fine and this GSI can be used as daily driver.
And magisk is also working.

Did anyone tried to install Erfan's Oxygen OS GSI on Albus???

Good to hear that pixel experience is working for you. I am based in india and none of gsi seem to provide volte functionality. Can you confirm that the rom you have tried is working with volte? Please provide the source of the pixel experience gsi you have tried. i have tried Erfans gsi, its same volte doesn't work. Thanks

Its been recommended since Android 11 to only fastboot (fastboot boot twrp-xxx-xxx.img) TWRP as it can bootloop a device
So thats a no
Also figure in that at the moment decryption for Android 12 is not supported in 2XL TWRP....TWRP needs to be updated, and please dont ask about an ETA. Custom Android 12 ROMs here for the 2XL at the moment do not have encrypted data for this reason.

With Pixel 3A XL now not getting updates what's next ?

Now that my pixel 3A XL is no longer getting updates from Google
An Android 13 on the horizon I'm considering unlocking the bootloader
Now I've done this before on my Nexus phones but not my Pixel it's bootloader is locked.
So here are my questions
Does anyone have a video to the process of unlocking the pixel 3A XL
What ROM are most people using with the 3A XL
is there still a Toolbox for Doing Roms and unlocking like was with Nexus phones.
And when do you think we'll likely see a port of Android 13 done by a member of the community

Few weeks ago for the first time following this instruction https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/bonito/install installed lineage os 18.1, but instead of full adb and fastboot im download this: minimal adb and fastboot
3a is popular so sooner or later they will come unofficial Android 13

You will be waiting a while, los 19 aka android 12 just dropped this week.

Others custom's like Pixel Experience or AICP have faster development, but new version of android is not always good thing, more important are secuirty updates and bug fixes

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I have been looking and looking and as far a a custom rom thats even still being updated it looks like you got los 19 and aicp. Thats all I could find. Every other rom in the thread here and listed in google searches is based on android 10 and not been updated in close to a year.
I hope someone will chime in and correct me and say no theres this other rom as well but so far I have only found the 2 I listed and the new los 19 is currently pretty featureless.
