Thanks allot for this. Awesome!!!!
Super! Kudos
Wow thank yoi
Anyone know if there were any improvements with the regular camera as well? I'm a little surprised how dark some of the shadows are in photos, and am hoping they improve on that, as well as the audio.
Did anyone else notice after you take a pic it goes right to Google photos for you to view the pic? The stock app just let's me keep taking pics.
Installed on pixel 2 xl.. its awesome.. google magic
Normal mode on pixel 2 xl
Night mode on pixel 2 xl

Guess I got to get this post started. The GOOGLE PIXEL DIALER FOR ANY ANDROID RUNNING MARSHMALLOW AND ABOVE WITH NO ROOT!!!!
So you install the APK I have posted below and then you can enjoy the Pixel dialer.
Now the In-call UI is green as reported by many users. I have found the solution to it but it only works on Aosp based ROMs and maybe someother ROMs too. So you go to Settings>Sim Card>Tap on Sim 1 or 2 depending on which you use to call with. Then tap color and then choose the default blue if you want the stock look. I am personally using Red.
So here are the list of bugs:
Caller ID not working
Places search not working in many countries of Asia
Application freezes while interacting with settings.
Current release is based on version: 5.1.131226882
After the application is installed, set it as the default dialer and disable (if available) your old dialer.
Tested and working on:
Moto G4 Play
Meizu M2 Note
Micromax A106 Unite 2
Moto Z Play
Sony Xperia X Compact
Samsung Galaxy A7
Samsung Note 7 ( it exploded ?)
So here is the download link:

Noticed many posts about the Pixel Dialer for other phones. Thought I should get it to other devices too but without root.
Kinda easy to get the whole thing together, extract the APK and then patch it.
He's like yo dawg I heard you like the pixel dialer... So I put a pixel dialer in your pixel dialer so you can dial while you dial.

This dialer is amazing. Buttery smooth and the visual style.. as if Google themselves made it. I don't think I want to live in a world where I can't use this dialer on my pixel.
Can you port the Pixel camera too? You would be a god if you got it to work!

Hello guys!
Im gonna keep it short but basically Google has sent update for Camera 5.2 where the update has been.....
https://www.androidauthority.com/google-camera-5-2-pixel-nexus-phones-gets-new-features-846423/
Has anyone got the update?
Also what you guys think about this update ?
For me the double tap to switch camera is "one of the best" update for me so far! haha

Really? I just do the twist motion to switch. That's still available to do luckily for me.
They removed the grid button from the quick toggles but would've been nice if they let you customize it. A portrait mode quick toggle would save me a tap.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty confident that you can as its still an official verison.
Come to think about it I'm sure I've also updated an app manually like this and then updated it on its next release (I think I did this with android wear).
I noticed the "subscribe to pushbullet updates" on apk mirror so did that for the Google camera. That way can get the update a little faster

Sure. I did the same thing with the phone apk a while back when it was updated to 16.0. Sometimes it just takes google a little longer to catch up with their own apps ??
So they replaced a really good feature (double tap to zoom) with double tap to switch cameras? I hope it doesn't do that during a recording.
Edit: So I have camera version 5.2 and it's the same as before.
They have improved noise levels in the photos recently, I liked that
Edit Edit : There's tons of new settings yay
Thanks google

Oh, No problem, you can choose if you want to zoom or switch camera! Do not worry
I always download APK updates whenever I can just cause I'm impatient. Android Police is quick on getting Google updates post with APK links. And yes, you can get regular updates through the Google Play Store still.
I would actually have liked the double tap to switch cameras with the video recording as I see iPhone Instagram stories doing it. It's cool to film something then show your reaction.
I have a pixel 2 for work and a pixel 2XL for personal use. They are both using the same version of Google's Messages. However, my pixel 2 has the new camera icon next to the + symbol where you would write your text. My pixel 2xl still only has the + symbol next to where you text. Anyone know if it is a setting I need to change or if one phone got a update pushed on Google's side? Picture shows what I am talking about circled in red.

Funny enough I have it on custom roms but on stock it would not trigger.
Wow, still waiting. Thought maybe the January update would trigger it but nope.

I was thinking I was the only one that still does not have it. Crazy!
I connected to pixel support through settings and the technician had me screen share and went through a lot of things like checking in safe mode, Android build version, app settings and other things. He was not sure why my messages app is not updated properly. He ended up having me send a feedback report and said they would be looking into it.
Well time will tell .
I had it on my stock pixel 2 XL then I lost it when I flashed a rom. When I flashed back a month later to stock I got it back. I tried everything I could think of while I was running a custom rom to get it back with no luck.

I have the camera icon now after a clean flash on stock. Every other month (depending on features, patches, etc.) I make it a priority to do a complete wipe of the device. It's tedious and some may see it as redundant, but in my experience since the days of the G1, it keeps everything running smooth.
Hi guys, in your experience do you recommend any custom Gcam or you think stock's works just fine?
I use this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pi...-camera-mod-pixel-3-3xl-t3909624/post79091513
It captures more details (and the picture files are much bigger).
Only issue I have is it force closes if I shake the phone too much.
You can ignore the camera driver mod if you want and just use the modified gcam app if you want.

The app I linked is basically the same as stock but it gives the option to use up to 36 shots for a better HDR and sharpner shot (I think stock uses 24)
The processing takes like a second with our Snapdragon 845 which can seem much and that's probably why Google went on a little less shots in the Pixel 3XL stock app.
This app can be useful if you want to crop the pictures as it has a bit much details.
Also if you want to fine tune your shot in Snapseed it has more information to play with.
