hello, is there anyone who knows how to fix low volume in earphones? it drives me crazy, some custom miui roms have this fixed, but i want to stick with eu rom which suits me best
I was on global stable and needed to change region to Switzerland, North Korea, anywhere outside of Europe really, otherwise the volume was too low. I'm now using xiaomi.eu weekly and volume over headphones is fine. What rom are you using now?
I also turn on mi sound enhancer in Additional settings>Headphones and audio effects, and also tweak the EQ a bit as well.

hi, sorry for late reply. Im using latest EMUI 10 eu rom (8.10.18), however there is no option to change region, nor via first time setup nor via settings. Also tried stock audio equalizer and direct HD effects, music sounds better with it but not louder... any other suggestion? thanks for answer
I think the default region for the eu roms is Poland (don't quote me on that though). As I wanted to change the LTE status bar icon to 4G and changed a line in the build prop using the terminal in twrp. I changed from PL to ES, but I don't think I noticed any change in volume to be honest. I would have thought the eu rom was already adjusted in terms of audio volume.

As I remember the CYANOGEN mod is already present by default, but still better to check, look in the directory system/etc file mixer_paths_wcd9326.xml upload it to cloud storage and send me a personal message.

Yes it works, I did it by comparing the mixer from stock and this modified one, and then find the difference and it only changing one line.
i'm downloading for testing. i'm use the Lineage OS 13 by @fedosis
edit: I noticed a significant improvement using the headphones. I use Mi Piston Basic. Thanks bro.
Can't download.please upload it to mega or mediafire
Has anyone noticed a strong background noise that distorts the sound on custom firmwares? It is easy to see when one sound sounds, and after it a pause, as, for example, in the track martin phipps - st petersburg. The first three sounds on custom firmware sound like electronic slaps, if the volume is less than half. on miui at any volume everything is fine. Will sound libs from miui help if they are moved to custom firmware?
Have you install viperfx or other soundfx?

Works for me on Pie dezember patch. I dont no it is possible to fix, but the volume of earpiece its far below the main speaker. I tried to cover the main speaker, the sound from earpiece its barely noticeable.
Hey,
I am not sure, how it sounds on Pie, but on Oreo it works pretty decent and difference is noticeable (in compare without/with this activated module). Since earpiece is not actually made for audio playback its better kept mod at the low level and of course- it is pseudo-stereo experience, so its not much when you will compare to real stereo on some phones (S10, iPhone XS etc.) but it is still better than nothing, I guess. But as I wrote, I am not sure how it works on Pie.

Definitely works but sound from earpiece speaker is very low. Is there any fix for this. Maybe tweak it so it has louder sounds on lower volumes.
My rooting days are over, I'm looking for a Viper4Android alternative
Unfortunately there is no alternative for v4a. I'm also searching last two years but there is really no alternative. Either rooting or no v4a, that's simple for understanding!

A great alternative to Viper for non-rooted devices is using Neutron Music Player.
With proper configuration it can sound really good. Moreover, it has native support for hi-res audio. Viper's main disadvantage is it down/up samples to 48Khz and limits the bit depth to 16 bit. The S20 family of devices have powerful DACs capable of 384Khz/32 Bit audio so if you have hi-res audio files it would work well. The only disadvantage to using Neutron is its learning curve. It's not as user-friendly as Viper but can sound about as good with the right setup.
A good equaliser that does boost the sound is Mega equaliser , but be carefull as you could blow your speakers with the loudness togle , its free with ads or without ads for $1.49 from inside the app , works perfect on my note 10+ and note 9
Try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noozxoidelabs.eizo.rewirepro
Though the app has not been updated since ages...sounds good.

ffs mate dont post cracked apps on here especially from that site that just pushes so much adware
I use Stellio music player, which have plenty of sound enhancements and is, IMHO, the closest to Viper I used on previous rooted phones.

Got it working by
1. Install viper
2. Open it
3. Tap on install 'drivers' (your phone will reboot
immediately)
4. 0pen Viper and enjoy
If it doesn't work the first time, install drivers again
There was no need to flash any other module in magisk.

my device sm-g9860 snapdragon model (rooted) doesnt work
need help. Viper4Android installed and working via Magisk. As soon as I am on the home screen, it switches off in the background. If I start viper4android it runs again immediately. Now the strange... When I start the browser, for example, viper is running. Music runs in the background. Except on the home screen. When the screen turns off, viper is off again. What could be the reason for this?
I have observed that the bluetooth audio quality in aosp 10 and 9 both roms really sucks it's far more inferior to miui. When the bass is increased the sound becomes supressed and you can hear crackles after every bass punch.Whereas in miui it's powerful and amazing,I have tried everything i can i have changed firmwares china global it;s still the same , i have used several mods viper, dts hpx,dts ultra, james dsp, dolby digital etc. it;s still the same.I hve used music players like poweramp, player pro etc. but the issue persists.Does anyone know what is the cause of this issue and how can it be resolved. The audio quality feels like gingerbread?
Can"t confirm anything like that. I"m currently running a very outdated Superior OS build (August 2019) and listening to the music on my loudspeaker using BT (SBC HD) and wired connection feels the same. No distortions or anything like that (im using retro music player and yt).
I suggest you clean flash the ROM you are currently using and try again without any sound equalisers and boosters
Sent from my whyred using XDA Labs
There is a Magisk module that can change bluetooth bitrate, just search for bluetooth and you will find it in magisk repo. Try that but I don't have a problem with bluetooth audio on AOSP.

actually the problem lies with bluetooth earphones and the problem occurs when the bass is increased not when there are no effects applied.

i have used that i increased it to 482kbits but there was no change. I m well aware of the fact that the bitrate in miui is 48 nd in aosp its 44.1.

I think you are mistaking sampling rate (44,1kHz for ex) and bitrate (in kb/s)
While first one can"t be changed, second one depends on the BT codec which your speaker uses. SBC for allows 340kb/s bitrate. In comparison - Spotify non-premium streams in 128kb/s
