Hi,
Is it possible to modify the stock LG G4 camera app to save photos in a custom folder location? I've tried using different camera apps which do allow custom folders but the quality of photo in those apps is not as good as the stock app.
Can anyone help with this? I need this for a work application.
Kind regards,
Steve.

Tx for this but I need to change the folder location while I'm on a client site (different folders for different clients). Usually it wouldn't be an issue but I'm taking over 1,000 photo's split over multiple clients and it's taking far too much time back in the office to sort through them all manually.
If I can change the save photo location to a new folder for each client on site I save TONS of time.
Are there people who would do this as a service? Do you know how I would contact them?
Some camera apps allow save location to be set. Install a couple and check.
Just change save location before each client visit
Automation tools eg 'tasker' are available on the play store but have some initial learning curve.

Thanks for replying.
I have tried several camera apps which do allow photos to be saved in other folders but the quality of the photos is not as good as the stock app. This is why I'm trying to see if the stock app can be modified so that I can choose the folders to save into.

Hi all, How are you?
I have a Galaxy Nexus with Android 4..2.2(JDQ39) unrooted.
I delete a picasa web album by mistake, but It was downloaded on the stock Gallery app (version 1.1.40001).
So I am trying to figure out where the stock Gallery app restore photos checked to be offline in order to restore my photos.
Please, Does someone know where stock Gallery app store the off line albums?
(I have already checked sdcard/Android/data/com.android.gallery3d/cache and /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.apps.plus/cache folders and both are empty)
Thanks in advance,
Roger
How did you delete the web album? I just tried and it didnt give me the option to delete. And I havent seen an option for offline viewing.
By the way, there is no need to post the same question in two different forums.

I have deleted the album using Picasa Web interface ( I am using the old interface as I deleted my google plus profile to prevent integration with google plus).
And I havent seen an option for offline viewing

On the stock gallery app, there is an option on the top right menu(three dots on top right) to "make available offline".
So the deleted album is stored somewhere in my phone because I made it available offline (I can still the the photos on my phone, although It was deleted from Picasa Web), but I don`t know where it is stored...

Sorry, I didn't know in which forum to post this topic, is this the right one?
Thanks a lot,
Roger
That must be a stock thing. I'm using a custom ROM, which the stock gallery app is integrated with Picasa, and I dont have that option. Google is making it almost necessary to have a Google+ account. Even when you create a YouTube account, it automatically creates a Google+ account. I'm not a big fan of HAVING to have one, but its there and I dont use it other than to sync my photos between devices. To answer your question though, I have no idea where the offline folder is. Sorry.
And yes, the Q&A section is the right place for Questions and Answers.

No problem, I have searched about this issue on google, and I read somewhere that offline picasa photos should be stored on one of the following folders: sdcard/Android/data/com.android.gallery3d/cache or /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.apps.plus/cache
However, both folders are empty on my device =/

any clue?
nobody?any idea?
I've come across 3 apps which are all about a better Android user experience and app management, they're all free to download from the Playstore; read on to find out more, screenshots and APK's attached at the bottom of this post.
I always wanted a way to restrict the number of options available to me in the 'Share Via' options of Android when sharing a photo or other file. Something perhaps a future rom could have?
For now theres a neat little App which does just that, AppChooser lets you choose which apps you want available to choose from when sharing a file.
Long press an app in the list to hide it from view, and future view
Click the arrow in the top right of the window and it shows two arrows. Now you can share the file via multiple methods.
Arrange available apps by frequency of use, name etc
It doesnt replace your existing 'Share Via' method, but you can set it as default so the Android method wont show in the future.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.noxi.apppicker
Coming on to default apps, I know of two ways of dealing with default apps, clear all defaults or go to each app individually to clear the default.
Default App Manager lets you view all you defaulted apps in one manageable list and also lets you see which apps you can set defaults for and set as appropriate. Very handy and saves alot of time.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appiator.defaultappmanager&hl=en
The final app i wanted to share is, well, Share Apps . Share Apps is something missing from my Nexus 4 and my current rom. Using Share Apps I can select a single app or multiple apps to share from an easy to use app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theronrogers.shareapps&hl=en
All three apps are well made and require little to no permissions, so there's really nothing to loose. Give them a try and experience a better Android user experience. Click on the links above or download them directly from this post. :good:
Hit the thanks button if you've found this post useful :good: and be sure to show your support to the developers of these apps by leaving positive reviews
wow txz man
u rock man... .txz for the apps... :good:
Pity AppChooser is no longer available. Is this v2 the latest one?
Late enough, it works in kitkat on a galaxy s4.
Also, this thread is the only place I could find this app as a direct download. Other google hits download something to do with an egg, and then that wants to be an app store, and then maybe you'd find this app.

I've seen posts that say the Dev ended support for the app in 2012. Given that this thread is from 2013 I'm hopeful it's the final build, but I haven't looked very hard.
It works OK on my phone with 4.2.2, but there doesn't seem to be a way to set it as the default app for the share action as described in several blogs. Any ideas on that?
It's not what Google would want me to do, but I had to. Couldn't find App Chooser, and Andmade doesn't work with my Lolliop gallery. My preferred app for sharing photos was "below the fold" in the Share with options in Gallery. So, I uninstalled Google Plus and Hangouts, which is what it took to get my preferred app to appear. You go to Settings, Apps, Uninstall Updates and then Disabled.
Thank you @Wezi for the post. It actually helped me around to find AppChooser Pro 2.0.0. I have downloaded it through Aptoide and happily using it on my LG G3 D850 (AT&T) with Candy5 5.1.1.
Anybody want to try, kindly download it from Aptoide. I tried sharing link for file on Dropbox but as I am new to the forum, I am not allowed to post external link as per the policy. Once I shall be allowed to do so, I will share the link. You are welcome to PM me and will share the same.
Enjoy!
I just spent 45 minutes on tech support trying to find out how to manage my photos on my new tablet. After allowing smart tutor control, I was told that the new Tab S won't allow me to use Kies to direct my photos into various folders, nor is there any way to move them once loaded. I am a photographer, and had expected to have over a thousand images for demos. I can't have them all in one huge folder.
Please save me from having to return this and get an Apple - I have to be able to organize my photos. How do I do it?
thanks in advance
Keivn
option 1: The tablet should have Google+ installed, if you set that up and open the photos app (which is separate from the gallery app) you should be able to upload photos to google plus automatically, allowing you to organize and share photos inside google's online photo manager
option 2: You could do basically the same thing with Dropbox, uploading photos you have to their servers and then organizing them on your computer either in the photo manager on dropbox.com, or manually with the file manager on your mac/pc
option 3: use a USB cable to plug the tablet into your PC and copy photos from it manually periodically. If you have windows this should be easy, if you have a mac, you'll need android file transfer which is a program that communicates with the MTP protocol modern android devices use.
thoughts/comments/concerns?
Thanks
I didn't want to use an online method, because I am often in places with poor or no signal, which is a non-starter. I had tried running through simple Windows file manager, and had not been able to see it as anything other than single folder, with no ability to see discrete folder structures in it. However, when I tried that this am, I could see the folders on the Galaxy, so transfer and file management is easy. I'm not sure whether the Samsung tech changed a setting or what else might have changed, but with visibility into the folders via File Manager, this is now straightforward.
Thanks for the help. It's sad that Samsung help couldn't give me this simple fix.
Kevin
There are a lot of simple ways to manage photos. The simplest (but not most efficient) approach is probably just to plug the tab into PC with a USB and use a file manager to manage. Alternatively, you can also use one of several online services like Picasa and a third party app. Many of of the third party apps like PicsPro for Picasa, for example, have an option to keep a local copy of photos on the tablet so you can still view photos without an internet connection.

hi, I can easily do that within the default Gallery app.
I have the T705 version btw. But this shouldn't matter.
in the Gallery app I can simply create new folder(s) and move (or copy) selected photos form any folder to that new folder. I use this all the time. I'm not a professional photographer but I like to take loads of pictures. but I don't like them all together in the default "Camera" folder. I never organized my photos via PC (not on my phones, nor on my tabs).
Of course the phone is rooted and I deleted a bunch of nonsense, but I don't have an option to edit photos in the stock gallery app.
I had pixlr express installed and when I touch the edit icon, it launches that app. If an editing app is not installed, I don't get any edit icon.
Anybody know what I'm missing? Perhaps what it was that was deleted, maybe; the apk responsible for editing photos?
Please and thank you.

My friend you have deleted Google+(Or Photos app) that provided you the default editing feature. Reinstall/enable/defrost it and you will again have the stock pic editor back!

Really? Google+? I kept the stock gallery and camera. But google+ is responsible for stock photo editing? Man, Android is weird these days, I'll tell ya. Interesting, I'll look through the folder of deleted apk's and hopefully something looks like what I need. If that's the case however, I'll live without g+ or that silly picasa (or whatever) application.
Thanks!

It's definitely Google+ that gives you the editing option from within the stock gallery. I simply downloaded it from the Play Store and the editing options returned. I them hid G+ from my app drawer since I don't actually use the app.

Hi all,
So here is what my concern is.. I have backed up my photos on Google photos cloud.. and I want to reduce the file size of the photos on my zuk z2. I tried GOM saver and all in one toolbox image optimiser.. and what they do is they create new optimised image file. So when I open my gallery - or Google photos , every photo shows up in "today" as they got created today by optimising app। And it's all shuffled up and random. To fix this I had to remove all photos from my device and download from cloud again.
Can anyone suggest me ?
Inputs will be appreciated
Thanks

Check if the optimized picture has any EXIF data(date and time when the picture was taken), maybe then you have a chance to fix it. I use QuickPic app and it gives and option to fix the date. Check the attached screenshot
Okay thanks for the suggestion. Will try to fetch date and time by exif.

Hi..
I tried what was suggested.
I compressed 3 of my photos using all in one toolbox.
They started showing up at the top of my photos list as the optimised files got created today.
I went into quick pic - I fixed the date of those photos.
They still show that they're created today..
Thank you for your input though.
I am open to any more suggestions please.

Every pic you click will have an EXIF data. The app you are using to compress the picture is not replicating the EXIF Data (only photo taken time and date is required) of original pic to the new compressed pic.
QuickPic can only fix this if the EXIF data has proper date.
My suggestion would be, try a different app to compress the pictures which saves some of the EXIF data.
P.S. I have no idea if any Android app is capable of doing it. Long back I used to have some software(forgot the name) in Windows which gets the work done.

Okay agreed.
I searched alot but was not able to find an app which retains the exif data. We can manually change the exif but that'll be a lot of effort for just saving a little space.
Thanks though.
Thread can be closed.
Simply enable high quality upload setting instead of original.
Google photos will automatically resize without quality or exif data lost.
Also u will get unlimited storage on this setting
