How much did he charge?
He told me $25 or $35 and chose $25 and still got the code in 30 min and its working
Same for me, 25 USD and in 30 minutes I received the code. Finally I have my p20 debranded now
I want to leave my feedback about they service. I paid for the 30 minutes option and then they rapidly gave my code. Works great.
PS. Before unlock your bootloader, do a backup. The OS will format your phone in low level (everything will lost!)
Take care and go ahead!
Cheers from Brazil.
Like is it even worth getting a bootloader unlock code if planning to flash ROMs? From what I know the TWRP we have for the P20 is unofficial and only supports 8.0 ROMs and with the release of Pie coming up I don't even know.
the most helpful post i ever read on xda!
Unlocked
Mine got unlocked as per post 4 above but he is unlocking it with IMEI and it works. Anyone know if the Huawei official unlock was also done by IMEI or some other special code?
Just leaving my Code here so I wont lose it somewhere : 90PC1FSRXVHCBBXM
Tank you for your great service!
Perfect service. Thank you

if your nice enough, at&t will give u the unlock code, just call them and tell them your going overseas on a business trip for a week or so and they'll provide you with the code.

There is an excellent program, here, which will SIM unlock your device (among other, more technical unlocks) but it's only free if you meet the requirements listed in the first post. If you don't meet the requirements, it costs 10 British Pounds or 14 Euros (~18 USD). Unless you really need the extra features of this program or can't get an unlock code from AT&T, I would stick to fone_fanatic's method in post #3.
Since there was a thread about a scam over unlocking I'm a bit more concerned about what site I choose to unlock my phone.
What would you people recommend? Trusted and safe site?
I've heard a lot of good stuff about unlock-zone. What others have users on here used?
I used www.htcsimunlock.com
I unlocked mine on ebay, it was cheaper than most sites, was fast, and you'll have the paypal insurance, so nothing can go wrong.
I used htccode.com successfully 2 times. As I stated in the other post, the downloaded application did not work at first attempt (could not connect to server) so I used the Live Support link on the homepage, and an engineer detected my logged in user name, requested the IMEI code and emailed the unlock code within 10 minutes.
This is the 2nd time I have used them, and it would be tough to get better service in my opinion.
I am sure some individuals may have problems, but htccode has worked fine for me twice.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Used ebay and had the unlock code in about a minute cost £8,99 and no faffing around like some of the other sites.

A number of people are having some trouble unlocking recent LG G4s (particularly UK / Vodafone H815, but probably others).
The general trend is that phones with serial numbers starting with 511... (Manufactured November 2015) cannot be unlocked by any third party service currently - the current (inexpert) theory is that the IMEI databases being used are not up to date, and hope is that these databases will be updated in future.
IMEIs that are currently impossible to unlock seem to be anything above about 359872067......
If anyone succeeds with any service, please report.
Successes reported from:
* Cell unlocker dot net (likely delayed whilst they check their alternate database
* eBay item 261160583898 (Thanks Kamran)
It's possible these IMEIs are starting to trickle out more widely.

At least the ones supplied by Vodafone seem to be locked. I think they have VDF on the box instead of GBR, but aside from the simlock I think they are identical.
Okay, I have a confirmed unlock of a 511 / November phone, with an IMEI in the 3598720679 range (so anything lower than that number is probably doable, possibly higher too)
The unlock was from cell unlocker dot net (I have no relationship with them)
They initially said they couldn't find the IMEI in their database but were checking an alternative source. After 3.5 days they found it and sent me a working unlock code.
They are not the cheapest, but may be worth a try. Please post any alternatives

Glad you finally got yours unlocked, I've just put an order through with CellUnlocker, hopefully they can find mine. It'll be a bonus if it doesn't take as long as yours!
I'll report back here if/when CellUnlocker come through.
Hi,
Last night I used eBay seller 261160583898 as user kamran9558 posted and it has worked for me too!
My phone is a 511 (1.1), I bought the code last night and received it within 10 minutes, all done and now unlocked, very quick and the instructions were also helpful, really happy now
Thanks to kamran9558 for the eBay number and to all for your help.

another confirmation
today i have unlocked my 511 v1.1 phone from the same ebay seller (item# 261160583898 seller:
yz.communications.ltd) that could not unlock it 2 days ago.
at last i am very happy with the result
very good phone, for very good price, latest model (manufactured Nov15!), hopefully free from teething problems, fully unlocked.
two minor niggles now
1. are there any cons on flashing the stock ROM to free from Vodafone branding? if not what is the best/easiest way to do it? also what is the best version to flash? euro or uk? where do i find them?
2. is there a way to cash out on the useless to me £10 credit and vodafone sim card?
thanks in advance

ok, i have an issue. i have just unlocked my 511 and worked fine for an hour but i now stuck on the vodafone boot screen. No idea what happened and i have not been able to find a solution online.
Just unlocked my 511 from the eBay guy. My IMEI is 3598720677 and above.
Loving the phone so far and battery life is decent.
I just hope I don't get the same problem as the guy above me lol.

Given the likely source of these codes draw your own conclusions. Likely someone got 'busted' with subsequent modification of internal polices to prevent (or at least reduce the chance of) reoccurrence.

Follow the carrier rules (some allow unlocking after terms have been met) or get another handset - preferably one that is carrier unlocked from the factory. XT1768 is your best bet which supposedly offered at a discount by some US based MVNOs like Boost.

If I recall correctly, I believe the box that it comes in states that you have to spend about $70 of airtime to qualify for unlock.
I recall my brother using this website in the past
Mod Edit: Externeal / commercial link removed
For anyone that wants to give it a try, still pricey at $29.99 compared to $2 on eBay.
Any news so far i just got one from best buy and IMEI starts with 354

In the United States, all 4G phones have to be sold as unlocked by law. However, there are a few stipulations like owing money on the phone (purchased on credit, monthly payments) and a 30-90 day waiting period some carriers adopt.

Me either so I just opted to contact OnePlus and request an unlock code. TMobile requires the phone to be on their network for at least 40 days and I'm good standing. Once you have that you can install the TMobile Device unlock app and see if you can proceed. If you can, TMobile will SIM unlock your phone.

I was able to get TMO to permanently unlock my 7T just a few days ago. I had originally contacted TMobile Help on Twitter four days after getting my new 7T. I told them I was an app and ROM developer and I needed this device unlocked so I could test my apps. At that time she wouldn't unlock it and for me because I had only had my new 7T for four days. She told me she would unlock it after 40 days and if I was in good standing with my account.
I actually waited 50 days and contacted TMobile Help again on Tuesday and I was able I was given the permanent unlock. It took a little wrangling and explaining to the new person who was helping me but I got it done without having my 7T paid off.
