You must be running NPPS25.137-93-2-5 to be able to update through OTA. However, you can still update to Oreo using fastboot method (link here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/official-oreo-8-1-0-opp28-85-16-t3849244), but most probably, you will loose all of the data stored in the phone.

Some people say you may hard brick
Using adb don't need to downgrade?

It's safe as long as you don't try to flash gpt and bootloader. Downgrading one (or both) of these partition results in hardbrick.

If you update to official Oreo but then decide, you want to install CustomROM, you have to downgrade to Nougat first. Otherwise, your fingerprint won't simply work with any CustomROM. I have already mentioned it in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/help/finger-print-sensor-issue-oreo-roms-t3853491.
Btw, bootloader version is not related to fingerprint working or not with CustomROM. There's another partition that makes difference in it.

In my opininon yes, but your opininon might be different. Downgrading from official Oreo to official Nougat isn't difficult at all. You just have to remember, you can't flash gpt and bootloader. It's also recommended to avoid erase modem commands to prevent loss of IMEI.

None of them. Treble project needs Treble TWRP and Treble LineageOS installed firstly for correct functionality of other Treble CustomROMs. More info in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/treble-project-treble-cedric-t3820451.

I was on 137-93-14 too. I flashed the fastboot firmware 137-93-2-5 to go back full stock and official. No need to re lock bootloader..then I downloaded the latest OTA update 28.85-16 and installed it via ADB sideload.
My phone is xt1670 on channel retca..though I can't say for sure what difference it makes if your on amzin. Wish I could help more.
No problem bro Yesterday I flashed the fastboot files and successfully updated to oreo which I found on this thread.

Yeah your right that was definitely the long way hehe. It's cause I wasn't sure that th oreo fastboot method would have worked for me. I had tried the TWRP version and it kept boot looping so I thought the other way would be safer

Okay, so, one of my friends has a OnePlus 3 and it disappointed in the battery life after the Nougat update, he wants to roll back to Marshmallow.
So,
1. Is rolling back to Marshmallow possible after a Nougat update? Are there any risks for flashing Marshmallow on Nougat's bootloader?
2. Can someone tell me what is the latest stable (don't want betas) Oxygen OS based off Marshmallow.

Remember that op3/3t N have f2fs file system which is unsupported on 3.2.8 (MM). You'll either have to use an old version of custom kernel (I think only bluspark supported f2fs at that time) or convert to ext4 in twrp. Other than that there should be no issue with flashing 3.2.8 over N

Yeah, ï believe purefusion is based on the nougat firmware so that explains the loss of radio. Check the specs before flashing.......maximus, leedroid or viper should work fine.
You have to read more mate, just checked the OP of the AOSP rom.......
It says it needs N or MM firmware so no O (oreo) firmware.

Especially going from stock sense to an AOSP style rom it's wise to wipe the whole thing because you don't want to mix two roms, strange behavior may occur.
Follow the instructions in the specific thread, if you want to run the phone unencrypted then you need to format data indeed.
Hey sorry to hijack thread but I'm having a similar issue, any sort of flashing I do results in the airplane mode getting stuck to "turning off" and I can't use my mobile network. I can flash my official T-Mobile RUU zip and things will work fine, but if I flash twrp on official it breaks. I switched over to the unlocked Dev rom and it breaks. I can only get my official zip working. Any help?
My specs are:
Android 7.0
2.51.617.32
S-off locked
1.0.U010241a 6117.76.02_f radio
Switched cid to bs_us01 or whatever the Dev cid is. For the rom. Other than lineageOS which didn't work, I haven't tried any other rom except dev.

I am flashing nougat roms, the wwe/dev rom I have running atm(which is giving me airplane issues) is the same as the official T-Mobile ruu I have that works, only difference is that it's the dev edition instead of t-mobile, same firmware and both are Android 7.0. Flashing full RUU and not any of these custom roms on here. I had only flashed lineage to see what it was like But got rid of it and put on my working T-Mobile ruu.
Both T-Mobile and dev edition RUU is taken from the official HTC website, they're the exact same thing.
so i tried flashing many oreo custom roms, and the fingerprint sensor just didn't work anymore, and i know is a common issue, is there any fix to this?

I would recommend you to downgrade to Nougat first - flash everything except gpt and bootloader to avoid hardbrick. Also don't run erase modem commands, they will erase your IMEI in this case. Then, make sure that fingerprint is working with Nougat StockROM. If it does, try to install CustomROM.

Just one more thing to mention: don't even try to install OTA updates (in case you stay on StockROM). Here's why. Your bootloader's version is B8.31 now, but phone is "still" running Android Nougat (I guess). Oreo OTA updates the bootloader from B8.25 to B8.31, but since yours bootloader is already updated to B8.31, OTA would try to make a changes, which were already made and break the whole "structure" of bootloader. This would end up most probably in hard brick.
If you'd like to revert back to official Oreo someday, install it using fastboot method. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/official-oreo-8-1-0-opp28-85-16-t3849244). Even you will most probably loose all of the data, it seems to be the only one safe way to update back to Oreo after downgrading to Nougat.

Oh, thanks for the link, I believe it's gonna be useful in the future. Btw, don't you know, what does "DS" and "SS" in the filenames mean?

I do not know what it means, I think it has to do with the companies that distribute the firmware in the different update channels or region
dual sim or single sim I suppose

Hello,
Yes you can flash full OTA of 11.2.6.6LE15BA without any problem without losing anything through local upgrade.
Or you can do what i did, download a downgrade ota file. In my case i was in 11.2.5.5LE15DA and downloaded downgrade OTA of 11.2.5.5LE15BA and flashed again through local upgrade, but since this was a "downgrade" it wipes all data. I didnt mind the wiping since i couldnt wait for the new update for too long.
How to downgrade the current version?

[OnePlus 9 Pro][ROM][OTA][Oxygen OS] Repo of Oxygen OS Builds
As OnePlus doesn't always provide download links for all of their OxygenOS ROMs & OTA update zips, we've created an index to put the links in one post so that they're easy to find. Note: This is not a support thread for issues you may have with...
forum.xda-developers.com
Go below find the downgrade zips
Find the 11.2.5.5LE15BA and download it. Then flash it through settings>local upgrade. And when you click on downgraded zip it will notify you all data wil be wiped, click continue isntall and phone will reboot into recovery, wipe all data, boots into android setup. I think this is best options since it cleans flash the old version.

No need to be rooted. You go to the Downgrade zips links and download whichever variant you want of the 11.2.5.5. Then through Settings-System updates- Local upgrade, pick the downgraded zip you downloaded. It will promt you that you are Downgrading and it will wipe data, and after you confirm it and install it, phone reboots into recovery wipes data, reboots to android setup.
