Discussion, Project Treble Support in Moto G5 Plus

Till now everyone heard and know that Motorola is building 64 bit ROM for our (Moto G5plus) Potter device as Oreo doesn't support 32-bit anymore.
What's the possibility of Implementation of treble and seemless Update with this ROM as They ate building Completely out of scratch.
I Know Lenovo Policy and Stuffs so Put only sensible reply I on basis of valid documents or proof rather saying randomly no offense

No, moto isn't building 64-bit Oreo for our device. A 32-bit OS cannot be upgraded to 64-bit without a clean install (read: deleting all data), which is also true for every desktop OS (Windows, any linux distro, etc.) . It is actually sort of possible on linux, but extremely difficult and bothersome.
Also Oreo didn't drop support for 32-bit architectures. New apps must be 64-bit compatible, but that doesn't mean they'll stop working on a 32-bit OS. And Google covered 32-bit cases in their Oreo compatibility definition, meaning it is supported.
Basically it's never been done before by an oem, and there is no reason for moto to bother with it since G5+ has a maximum of 4GB RAM. 64-bit architectures even tend to increase RAM consumption due bigger pointers and slightly larger code.
As for treble, it's possible to update phones with treble support, as it has been done by other oems before, but I really doubt moto will bother. They said every phone will get at least one major update (with "at least" usually meaning "exactly"), so after Oreo the G5+ likely won't get android P, meaning they achieve nothing by making the phone treble compatible.

About PROJECT TREBLE I saw that the motorola will not support our device (OTA update with repartition would be risky).
But I saw that somebody already managed to carry the project treble to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. He had no support.

And there is another developer who is doing this for the Xiaomi Redmi 3 ( Screenshots )
Do you think it is possible to do the same for our G5 Plus since our hardware and spaces are better?

Here is the Moto G6 Plus Stock rom with treble (*** do not install! ***), I think we could study the structure of the partitions because from one moto G to another it changes little, maybe this gives an idea of which partition to use.

I installed the Treble ROM, followed by PixelExperience GSI. Tried to boot to ROM and it can't find /system/

I just tried flashing LAOS treble ROM, PHH AOSP 8.1 V19, Ace Kernel Treble and pico gapps, and it works!

I did it, but before installing the GSI Pixel experience you have to do the factory reset on twrp.
the steps are as follows:
Before everything download Device ID apk (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evozi...release/device-id-1-3-2-android-apk-download/)
And a Brower (https://apkpure.com/via-browser-fast-light-geek-best-choice/mark.via.gp)
- TWRP-treble ( although twrp continues to show 3.2.1.0 note that in mount and backup the vendor partition is now appearing )
[If comming from broken treble/bug or anything wrong]
--> Wipe everything except internal.
- Lineage_treble ( This version of the lineage made by vache contains the necessary vendor partition files. )
- Factory reset (Don't if you gonna use LOS)
- GSI (Don't if your gonna use LOS)
- Gapps (Don't if you gonna use Pixel Experience) & Magisk mod by vache)
For GAPPS use OpenGapps Pico.
For Magisk only use the one on vache's cloud.
On LOS you shouldn't get google certification error,
If you get (on los or any gsi)
Just skip the setup wizard (do like if you don't use gapps)
Install DeviceID, and get your GSF number, then enter it on
this site, reboot and you're ready to go.

The point of a gsi (generic system image) is that it'll work on any treble-enabled device. Any A-only GSI will work, because the device specific drivers are in a partition which is left untouched.

Why it is having Volte issues with G5 plus only??
All other devices with unofficial treble Support have less issues but moto always faces volte issues???

if i install the treble PE with the treble TWRP from vache, will it work without issues (camera, gps and stuff) i don't really care about volte since we don't use that here.

it doesn't work like that, read the instructions in the treble thread to know how to flash a gsi.. and yess, camera gps and stuff are working

I flashed PE GSI in my g5 plus. It was working fine. But some days later device uncertified notification was coming, one after another in almost 5 Google app. I registered my device online in Google's website and rebooted but nothing fixed. Now I am using non treble PE.

Hello! Probably today, ill receive my new phone, mi a2 lite
As i thinking good, this phone have treble support. Bur my questions is: why there is only one custom rom? Im moving grom Alice (Huawei P8 lite) to Daisy, and P8 lite have much more custom roms. Do you have any begginer guide for this phone? (Like best gcam version od sth) ;p

I'm using Havoc OS now. It's very good and comes with notch compatible(gapps)
Go to guides and news tab and you see there how to install gsi roms

Whichever GSI I've installed had major lags, which made it unusable for me. Especially when opening an app from recents. Stock is the most fluid, so I got stuck with it.

Mi A2 Lite supports project treble, so it should be able to boot GSI without any hiccups. But here we are...

Sorry for my bad english
before installing twrp or any modification, you have to unlock bootloader (this will erase your data but it's not important you will delete while flashing)

I used the method you mentioned but Havoc and PixelDust ROM were lagging . Is it me, or do you have small lags too?

Yes i had lags like you and it is boring as f*ck
When i heard the 10.0.3.0 is released, i moved to that quickly
Havoc OS Is funny but it is laggy
I'm in stock rom right now and it is really fast and not laggy

I hated the square UI on stock, so I rooted the phone with Magisk and installed Substratum. Now I'm using Pixel theme on play store it's free and awesome. No more boring colors and ugly square corners. [If you want to install a substratum theme, make sure it supports Pie, otherwise the device will bootloop ]

[XIaomi] Mi a2 Lite no specific GSI

Hello everyone, I really wanted to tell you my opinion in this section that is the one dedicated more to the development of generic Treble ROMs and also specific for some devices. My question is, why do not even a project embrace Xiaomi Daisy? Many GSIs are not perfectly optimized for the device and unfortunately sometimes you get into various bugs. I would like not a little, to see some project even perhaps addressed to him. But this is my opinion, I hope it can be taken into consideration. As always, thank you all for what you do.

There are Lineage OS roms in development for a2 lite. those will be perfectly optimised.
and once they're released, surely other customized ROMs will follow. so just stay tunedn

I really want to miui rom for mi a2 lite because in my country i cant get a good miui device like this specs. (i cant even get redmi 6 pro illegal ways )

Actually I test rom for developers , los 16 is fine but vendor stock have error , the dev compile vendor lineage . So just wait for custom rom daisy ...

There is not a single bug on the newer February Update of Resurrection Remix sir

Sure. But there isn't any out right now. Development has been slow because many reasons including kernel source not being released fully initially and phone being bricked way too easily with test builds. If you're looking to buy the phone with hopes of flashing a custom ROM, go for the Mi 9T Pro instead. If you already have the phone, be patient for a while.

There's hope from POSP dev, he's actually tried hard building a rom for this device despite getting bricked so many times. Still in progress, be patient.

We need everybody to promote the bricking issue of redmi note 8 pro so that xiaomi will remove the authentication account.it's absurd to keep us blocked from developing. Pleace make posts everywhere you can so people will know the problem. follow the #note8probrick on twitter and express your dissapointment

The N8pro is known to work at the moment after being flashed with that particular ROM, but it really needs to be tested for bugs before it gets promoted as an option.
There are also some other ROMs that derive from PHH's AOSP GSI ROM that could possibly work on the N8pro such as LineageOS 16, Resurrection Remix, and HavocOS
