WiFi Calling AT&T - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I was wondering if there is a way to enable wifi calling for AT&T. Is there a way to do this? There has to be some setting to turn on to enable this feature. Any ideas?
T-Mobile has a way.

I keep losing VOLTE and WiFi Calling every time I flash a Sense ROM like Leedroid or Viper. I went through all the steps to downgrade back to Nougat, collected all the OTAs until the final Oreo OTA. With that everything is good. VOLTE and WiFi Calling are both fully functional. As soon as I flash a Sense ROM they both disappear. Even when I go into the phone information menu from the phone keypad the options to turn on both these settings are greyed out. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have the Unlocked 10, with S-Off.

T-Mobile WiFi calling app....

Anyone on T-Mobile gotten this to work yet on Froyo? I've installed the app but it's just hangs at Enabling when I turn it on.
btw, on a sort of related note. The 3G Hotspot app that came with the chinese Froyo ROM does indeed work. Was going to get rid of it while I was cleaning up all the other chinese and other unneeded apps but thought I try it out first a low and behold it turned on. My netbook saw it and connected. Was able to get online and everything.
Back on topic. I'd really like to get WiFi calling back if anyone has found a fix.

I've the same issue; I'm rooted and on Froyo and I really need WiFi calling to work. I installed the app on jboogie's froyo and ADlxmod froyo but WiFi calling doesn't work on either of them. I can install it, and it detects the WiFi, but it doesn't work. Could someone please work on a fix? I really don't want to go back to 2.1, but I really need WiFi calling to work, or I might not have a choice, but to downgrade

OK, I am an unsophisticated user, but I have noticed that when wifi calling kicks in it changes the "set preferred network type" from "GSM auto prl" to "GSM only". Perhaps if you have not already tried, you can go into the menu and make this selection manually. Perhaps it's not switching over. Just my naive 2 cents.

Wifi Calling?

Any way to activate the wifi calling feature for the Sprint S6?
rooted and xposed installed
I've tried on every build so far on my GS6 and haven't been able to get it to turn on, but it sounds like a few people have gotten it to work. I've spoken with Sprint multiple times about it and the only remaining test they want to try is to factory reset the phone...which is funny since the first day I also couldn't enable WiFi calling. They recommended I take it into a Sprint store so someone else can look at it, and probably factory reset it. I just don't want to spend the next 6 hours customizing everything on my phone again. I've also heard that the battery life isn't very good with WiFi calling (maybe incorrectly), so that's been another reason for me to not take the plunge and factory reset.
Sprint did mention, during all those phone calls and chats that WiFi Calling must be enabled on your account/line for it to work, which they say they enabled for me, but it still doesn't work. Maybe that's your hang-up....
Works for me on stock OH1. Took awhile for the red line to disappear from the icon but when it did I made and received several calls using wifi calling.

I am able to use wifi calling fine. I was just in Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia where I used wifi calling constantly to call and text people in the US. I am on stock OH1. When you enable wifi calling go to the wifi calling options and make sure the wifi access point you are connected to us enabled in the wifi calling. To the point above, yes it does often take 30 seconds to a minute to enable wifi calling on any access point. If it starts to take longer I toggle wifi calling off then on again.

How do you tell the phone that a particular wifi network is able to use wifi calling? Whenever I try to enable wifi calling it sends me straight to "Self Service".

Wanam Xposed module (note module not framework) breaks the ability to access WIFI calling feature. I reported it here in module thread.
I might recommend doing an RTN reset...I know you said you don't want to set everything up all over again. But I had issues when I first got the device. This completely reprovisions everything and in my case fixed WiFi calling not even being an option. I would make sure it shows in your account and then do the RTN reset.

Update disabled WiFi calling in airplane mode

I'm on a rooted pixel 2 XL, on vzw... I just updated to the June security update (from April) and I noticed that it is next to Impossible now to get any calls to go connect as Wi-Fi calling (Even when I have terrible service)
I already have Wi-Fi preferred setting enabled but it's not helping.
I also noticed what I used to do when I was in the basement is put the phone in airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi and I would get texts calls and be able to make calls under Wi-Fi calling. Now if I try to make a call it says it's not allowed in airplane mode.
Is there a way to get around this???
***EDITED TO ADD RESOLUTION***
A clean flash of the latest update (June at the time of writing) fixed this WiFi calling issue!
The airplane mode plus wifi trick still works fine for me on the June update, both for calls and SMS.
Wifi calling always seems to disable itself after a couple days or weeks and then I have to reenable it, but it's been that way forever.

I have an UNLOCKED Version and Wifi-Calling is set as the default way to place a call from the factory, and when not in Wifi, it doesnt use wifi calling, but then uses LTE... I am able to turn OFF Wifi-Calling, altogether, by going In settings -->Network & Internet--->Mobile Network-->Bottom of page shows Wifi Calling settings.

just to clarify, i do have an unlocked phone (also rooted), but im on VZW network (not a verizon model phone).
All of my settings are correct, it shows wifi calling as being enabled, it shows volte, advanced calling, ect all turned on...
but it NEVER uses WiFi to make a phone call anymore ( previously would show wifi icon in the dialer screen). i also used to be able to force it to use wifi calling by turning on airplane mode and enabling wifi, but now that is blocked very clearly by a dialog warning.

I have an unlocked rooted version. I have wifi calling set as preferred. In phone info, all of the toggles are on. However, I cannot make a call in wifi; I turn on airplane mode with wifi on and I get an error message "turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call." I also used the script to set wifi preferred. Have you been able to make a wifi call?

Once you turn on airplane mode the wifi turns off too. You need to turn on wifi after you go airplane mode. It should work.

I did turn wifi on after turning on airplane mode; It shows it is on and I still get the error message when I try to make a call.

Same exact issue I have.
Did you dirty flash the security updates? Not sure if its Magisk 16.4 beta causing a problem? I doubt it because I was running that before the update. Maybe that was it...
I'm going to try toggling the ADB command back to mobile preferred and see if that helps. --> DIDNT WORK.

I dirty flashed the June factory image using deuces script and I am using Magisk 16.4 beta. It maybe time to clean wipe; that usually solves any problems with this phone.
Shot in the dark here... I was having the same issue and even called Google (Project Fi) about the issue. I accidentally discovered on my own that I had to dial the area code when on Wifi or it would give me the error "Turn off airplane mode to make a call". This was when dialing only 7 digits. When I dial with the area code the call goes through over wifi with no problem. Maybe try dialing with the area code or with 1+area code+number.

Just tried this, didn't work. All my contacts are saved with the +1 and area code already, but just in case I tried a random number. Still got the turn radio on error.

Since it obviously works flawlessly on stock June update don't you think it's time to try that in order to eliminate hardware as the problem? Otherwise you're just spinning your wheels and asking to figure out a unique scenario.

Yep... just don't have time for backing up and restoring everything for a full wipe at the moment.

Android P disabling Wi-Fi Calling on Verizon?

Caught the OTA on a rooted stock Google phone. Was going through the usual re-root steps when I noticed Wi-Fi calling remains on "Mobile preferred" even after applying the adb command. I've seen others run into this issue on the Dev previews, but haven't found a solution.
*#*#4636#*#* And go to Phone information, make sure Wi-Fi calling is enabled
Sorry can't help more VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling isn't big in the UK so don't know much about it
All that stuff was already enabled, unfortunately. Appreciate the effort.
Yea it's been a known issue with P. It forces Mobile Preferred despite it being set at Wifi Preferred. I didn't have this issue with Android 8.x.
So....any fixes for this? Ive have the same issue with my phone and my wifes phone (both Pixel XL). Was on the phone with Verizon for over two hours. Is there anyone out there smarter than these twerps?

ATT WiFi calling quit working??

I've been on DU ROM for a couple weeks. Before lately my WiFi calling with ATT seemed to work even better than my prior Samsung devices but in the last few days I never see any indication that a call is going to WiFi calling
Can someone on ATT please confirm that under their settings they still have the place to click Emergency Address for 911 , mines not there anymore but otherwise indicates WiFi calling is on
Secondly can someone see if Pixel 3 XL will allow you to turn on airplane mode and then turn on only WiFi and subsequently make a WiFi Call. I'm currently unable to do that but have been able to with other phones inorder to test WiFi calling
Thanks
all of the above working fine here.

Not sure how I lost it but reflashing the stock brought it back

No luck here either, I'm on du also. Just tried it tells me to turn off airplane mode or connect to a WiFi network, even tho I'm connected to my wifi. It also pops up with it saying the radio is turned off not sure what that is all about.
