1) The first bug is common with xiaomi A2 users.
Which is 100% cpu frequency all the time.
A lot of users blame the fingerprint sensor, but after not using it and use only PIN and face unlock this issue returned again.
To test if your device has this issue, just install "cpu monitor" app from playstore and see.
See screenshot below
2) The second bug is after updating to miui 10 stable, if you locked the screen and then drag the notification bar you can play with wifi, mobile data, GPS toggles ... etc. As you want.
Disable them or enable them without need of PIN or password.
If you have these issues comment below, maybe xiaomi fix these problems in the next update.
I don't have both of these bugs. I am using xiaomi.eu Miui 10 Stable

A lot of Chinese and global stable rom users confirmed they have both bugs.
You are lucky.
The first bug only applies to people with devices having a "Goodix" fingerprint scanner, you can check by downloading Aida 64 and looking in the device section. It seems to affect the Redmi Note 5, MI A2 and some users are reporting MI A2 lite as well. For some reason the bug only gets triggered if the phone is unlocked using the fingerprint scanner while the screen is off resulting in all the cores locking at max clock speed. The only way to avoid it apparently is either disabling the fingerprint scanner or turning the screen on first then using the fingerprint scanner. Both of which are an inconvenience. I just received mine yesterday and thankfully I have a "FPC" fingerprint scanner so I got lucky. I agree, they need to address bugs more efficiently.
I don't have any experience with the second since I decided not to update until a newer update comes out because I already read about all the bugs so I'm still on MIUI 9.5.19.0

Hi everyone,
Anyone know if you can set different fingerprints to open different apps/call a contact etc. from the lock screen? This was a feature on the Honor 5x (I'm not sure about 6x). You could set up to 5 different fingerprints, and I would set each one to open a different app from the lock screen. I've been looking for it on my phone Huawei Mate SE, but can't find it. Thanks.

That looks interesting and it's the first time I'm hearing it .I'm it's not present on current EMUI 5.1 or EMUI 8.0 for Honor 7x not sure about that SE though .I would like to know if it's possible to implement that feature in any way.

Hmm. Well if it's not present on EMUI 5.1 for Honor 7x, then it's probably not present on Mate SE either. It's running the same thing. Strange that it wouldn't be included... Also, it doesn't seem you can use the fingerprint scanner to take you to the home screen either, which is a feature that was on the Honor 5x as well.

It isn't an in built option but you can make it work using external apps like Finger Print Gestures Pro ( available on Playstore) it also has the feature to open apps for a particular gesture like double tap , swipe down fast etc., but I couldn't find any possiblity that allows us to use a particular registered fingerprint for opening an app like Touchid assignment on iPhone.
Hi everyone.
I am fairly new to ANdroid phones.
Recently I purchased the 9 SE and received yesterday. Absolutely love the form factor and feel as well as the HW but the Xiaomi SW is shocking.
The issues I have are:
1 - Waveup does not work (wile I understand there are inbuilt alternatives DTTW etc, I like using WaveUP)
2 - Unlock with bluetooth (will only work with Xiaomi devices)
3 - Notifications disappear
4 - No LED to nofify of incoming items
5 - Much Mi bloatware that cannot be removed
I am considering flashing XenonHD + Okita Kernel.
Can anyone advise if this will resolve any/all of my issues?
Thanks a million
Basically, yes. But there are other bugs in the aosp roms. Also we have no led light so nothing will fix that.
I would suggest xiaomi.eu 11 it's the fastest and most stable ROM without bloat right now
Either way you need to unlock the bootloader which can take time. I would start that now.

Thanks for the reply.
My main gripes are the bloatware and bluetooth at the moment.
Yeah, read about the LED and am a little surprised as this is a very useful feature.
Also the weird way notifications are handled are well, just weird....
While the handset is really nice and sleek the OS is not great at all

Stock Miui 10, I agree with you. All those issues are fixed by xiaomi.eu 11 beta
Bloat removed, notifications working well, generally closer to stock than Miui has ever been

I have updated to 11 stable but unfortunately it has not resolved my issue with smart unlock.
I have a Garmin Vivimove HR and no matter what I do, I cannot get the phone to allow the watch to unlock the phone.
Actually, the phone will not stay connected to the Garmin watch at all.
Very frustrating
Help with Bootloader unlocking and ROM selection
So finally getting round to unlocking Bootloader as I recently bought Sony WH-XB900N and cannot get the phone to make calls via the headset (apparently something to do with (selecting HFP or HSP for the profile - can't find it anywhere in teh settings) and, along with some of the other issues described in my original post, I've had enough of this ROM (MIUI 11.2.0) and Xiaomi believing they are entitled to control how I use a device that I own (Xiaomi are worse than Apple at this point)
Was about to do it earlier with the miflash_unlock tool and received the message "unlock will erase user data" which I didn't realise would happen.
I discontinued the operation.
Will unlocking the Bootloader on the Mi 9SE erase all my data? - If so can anyone advise the best way to proceed?
Also, is there a ROM that will address:
1. Unlock with bluetooth (will only work with Xiaomi devices)
2. Much Mi bloatware that cannot be removed
3. Allow calls from Sony WH-XB900N wireless headset
Thanks for any help.
Jim
It seems almost any current AOSP based ROM on almost any device includes the option to pull down the notification shade using the fingerprint scanner except for my redmi note 8..
Does anyone know why? Is it a limitation of the hardware?
Thank you.

Well it took a bit of doing and it certainly doesn't work as elegantly as the baked in AOSP gestures but it does work I guess, cheers :good:
I am still curious as to why the AOSP fingerprint gestures just aren't there on any ROM with this phone though, my mi a2 lite has it on stock

I've been having this issue with my Mi 10T Pro. Not sure if it has to do with using Lawnchair as my default launcher. I've been having this issue on 12.0.10 Global and with the xiaomi.eu rom 12.0.7.
So I've configured my screen to refresh at 144hz. Sometimes when I unlock my device it's certainly not at 144hz, it feels more like 60hz. When I turn the screen off and then unlock my device again it's fine. It happens about 1 in 5-10 device unlocks.
Anyone else having this issue?

couldn't reproduce the problem, I'm using MIUI launcher on Xiaomi.eu 12.0.7
it could be the luncher like you suggested
try under developer options > Power Monitor > frame rate monitor tools and check if it's dropping or locking on 60hz

Thanks, I've enabled it. Will debug the cause and post the findings here.

Hi. This might be out of topic.
Can i ask what method did you use to install xiaomi.eu rom?
Switched to the stock launcher now and have not had the issue yet.

Sure, I fastbooted with TWRP and flashed the rom. Flashed Magisk right after.
No issues on the stock launcher after half a day of use. Just installed and set up Nova Launcher, but that also has the same issue. I absolutely hate the stock launcher, but this bug is also quite annoying. What are you guys using?
This is launcher problem, same with Nova Launcher !

Yes I do.
I have this issue as well. Changing back to stock launcher helped, but I still get it sometimes using Chrome.
I (strangely) did not encounter this issue when I was on the xiaomi.eu 12.0.10 ROM for the Xiaomi Mi 10T (non-pro). Of course this lead to camera issues, but just something I noticed. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release for our 10t Pro
I'm using stock EEA ROM with the default launcher and I observed it yesterday for the first time. I had this same problem with my old OnePlus 5 with Android 8 and 9 but it got solved when I upgraded to Android 10 and it never occurred again. I guess it's something sporadic but annoying that can be solved through software. Let's hope it gets solved in a future update.

Is my phone defective or is this present in every mi11x cause this is a software bug ?
Clear the data of Battery and performance app. That should do the trick. But it will return when you reboot. I do that in mine a few days and it somehow fixed it self. Now I don't do clear data trick. I'm on 120fps all the way with no color/brightness shift.

I'm not sure, but try disabling "Smoothen transitions" and "Sunlight mode" in Settings > Display > Brightness level, as well as disabling "Adaptive colors" in Color Scheme section.
I remember doing some of this fixed the problem.
Please share your results with us.
No bro it doesn't help it's still the same.
Is this problem fixed in miui 13 ?
Or is this a hw issue which means my unit is defective ?
I have tested in my phone, I can see color changes in the lapse between 60-120hz transition if the color scheme is saturated and adaptive colors is enabled. You need to try with a hard reset, I know is annoying, but we decide to get a Mibuggi phone.
It's happens to me when on arrowos 12 but setting the minimum refresh rate to 120hz fixes it for me, would prefer to have the minimum set the 60hz but this is my only work around

Well I have just spent the past half hour or so trying to reproduce your issue. With 'show refresh rate' enabled in dev options I see no change at all with whatever settings I try. I cannot see or reproduce you issue with my poco f3. However, I am running a custom rom - AICP 16.1.....
I'm not sure if this is the sole reason I don't have your problem, and I'm not saying you don't have a hardware problem. But, why not try a custom rom to see if you can reproduce th issue. I see you have been around XDA for a while so should know your way around flashing a custom rom to check... Might be easier and quicker than sending your phone off for possible repair. Also, one of the first things the repair center may well say (I'm assuming) is to try and factory reset you phone after backing up.
SO, my point is, if you are that worried its a hardware issue, and assuming the service center will just ask you to factory first of all, why not backup as much as you can and try a custom rom... see if it persists.
You can always make a note of what rom version you are running now and download it just in case. Then flash the custom rom and if the problem is still there and you need to send your phone off to the service center, just reflash the original rom locking the bootloader during flash. The service center will never know it has been flashed etc
