Hi everyone!
I've got Moto Z2 Play XT1710-09 (Retapac). When It was under Nuga stock firmwares I was able to have a root by Magisk. But after updating to Oreo (ALBUS_RETAIL_8.0.0_OPSS27.76-12-25-7_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC) and installing Magisk (either 16 or 17) I've got a "partial" root access: I can mount root of the filesystem as RW, but I cant edit anything in /system - It's available as RO only.
Somebody faced with similar?
What can I do to edit the hosts file, for example?

I have the same problem. Adaway sometimes works, its often fails. Xposed difficult set. I cannot make changes in the /system.

Thank you, Archerous!

It sounds like you've got a usable phone again, which is good! From your screenshots, you're on the latest firmware, which is also good.
What you'll need to do to achieve root is install the latest TWRP and use the Android 6 compatible SuperSU (the systemless install).
You can find the latest TWRP here: https://twrp.me/devices/htconem9.html
You can find the correct SuperSU here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

I have OOS beta 10 rooted with Magisk 16.4 and Debloater Modul 13.4 installed.
I was wandering if anyone could share their experience with debloating and could give me a hint to optimize it.
I want to keep it 100% stable with the necessary google stuff, but no OnePlus etc..
(Please ignore the last entries in system priv apps like nova, Viper etc.)
already debloated:

that's still in System Apps

There's a debloater that can be flashed through TWRP. However, the dev provided a decent explanation regarding what can be removed. It might give you a better idea. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76704113&postcount=183 I've attached the updater script; open with notepad++.
Hi, I have a problem when running the magisk manager application, it says setup failed after the "require additional setup" does anyone know how I can fix it? Thanks
Install
- TWRP 3.2.1.0 Treble
- Use the "magisk-unistaller-20181208"
- Install the latest version, Magisk v18.0
- Wipe dalvik and cache
My terminal is a moto z play and I am using the rom of android 9.0 xperience-13.0.0-20181126-NIGHTLY-addison.

Didn't have this problem. But I don't click the preserve force encryption. Maybe that's the problem? Just guessing

How does it actually needs to work? When it detects the face, notification content has to be displayed ryt? But on my phone, it just doesn't do anything... I need to swipe up to come to home screen to check the notification
