any idea how to initiate a conversation on messenger, viber or whatsapp with a contact instead of having to wait for a notification from them?
Simple answer, you can't. As there is no app available it is only possible once you have received a message which you can then reply to.
Frustrating I know.

I noticed that I can reply to a Whatsapp message but cannot initiate one. Anyone know if we can do that?
Also, can I reply to a message without scrolling to the "reply" tab?
Thanks a lot!
Ok, so I've found out that Android Wear does a few things really weird:
1. If I'm using the default app for SMS (not Hangouts), I can say "Sent message/text to", along with the message and it will send it.
2. If someone sends me a text through my default SMS app, Android Wear will alert me, but will not let me reply with voice unless I'm using Hangouts as my SMS app.
So if I want to initiate a Hangout with someone, is there a command for that? I can't seem to find it.
Thanks

you can't start a Hangout from the watch, only reply to one sent to you

I noticed that when receiving some international SMS sometimes the numbers don't show "+"
And hangouts gets screwed up.
For example I'm texting someone in UK using +44XXXXXX number
They respond but now the number looks like 44XXXXXX without +
So hangouts doesn't associate the incoming message with the same contact and decides to open a new thread. But I cannot even respond to message in the same thread because I need the + sign. So now I'm receiving messages in one thread and sending them in another.
I don't remember ever having this problem with stock messages app. How can I fix this?
Hi,
I'm wondering if there's any way to enable flash notifications for all notifications rather than just incoming calls and text messages.
I'd like to use it for emails and messenger. Any ideas?
Anyone? I'm sure it's something useful for many people.
Has anyone else had any issues with text messages sending and receiving with significant delay? I will check the phone in the morning and it will show no notifications. If I text someone or call someone I will immediately get a backlog of text messages/ voicemail notifications, the time stamp on the text messages will be as if I received them regularly without delay.
Probably phone issue, cuz it's getting old, that's what happened to my old phone or the phone service is having a major lag issue.

I don't know about texts, but several forum users at Amazon reported a problem with voicemail notifications. See this post from Nobody, on how you may be able to resolve the notifications problem.
delays
I had the same problem and I just unistalled facebook from google playstore and installed it from amazon and texts work fine now. Some apps from google interfere with amazon.
