So,
I tried to install TWRP but it did'nt work : i have "no command" when i acces the recovery and it actually destroyed my system.
So I flashed back the image "Global V9.6.4.ODLMIFF 8.1" but when i boot, the system ask me the scheme to allow the boot, so i put in the only scheme i putted in the device, and it tells me its wrong >_<
I need help on any of this points :
- Maybe a factory reset could be a solution but how do i install/reinstall any recovery (the base one or TWRP) ?
- Is there a way to disable this scheme lock secured boot ?
- Is there a default password/scheme on the device ?
Thanks for your time and your help
PS :
I tried to find answers by myself but i couldnt find any... This is my first post here, hope i didnt do something wrong !
You need to select the erase everything/clean all when using miflash. It will not recognize your password if you select the save user data.
I feel dumb : but it worked so thanks a lot.

Hi guys, I hope you can help me.
I have just rooted + flashed my motorola defy plus for the first time (on any device for that matter)
I installed 2nd init, version 0.6.... or something.
Put a rom, kernel and google apps on my sd-card
Then I turned usb-debugging off and rebooted my phone.
Now I can get into bootmenu, and this is what I do:
1) go to recovery
2) select custom recovery
3) then it says: Clockworkmod Recovery v2.5.1.8
E: Can't open /tmp/recovery.log
4) I then select wipe data/factory reset
5) then it says this: Formatting DATA
Formatting CACHE
FORMATTING SDEXT
No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext
Formatting SDCARD:/.android_secure
Data wipe complete
E: Can't open /tmp/recovery.log
6) After that i select install zip from sdcard
7) then I select choose zip from sdcard
8) then I select the zip file containing the rom
9) And it says: Finding update package
Opening update package
Installing update
E: Can't make /tmp/update_binary
Installation aborted
Now I can't go any further and can't use my phone at all
I hope u guys can help me, and that I haven't F*ed up my phone
what happen if you restart the phone ?
It goes right into bootmenu.
I have however found out how tog et my phone running normal again, I had to select Boot instead of Recovery and the choose Boot Normal.
I do however still want to flash CM9 onto my device but gonna ask here until i'm 100% sure it'll work.
So if you or any1 here got the links to the correct stuff I need, that would be very helpful
may be the sd card
try a different sd card it happen some times
when you restart the phone and you see the blue light, hit the VOL - button.
here choose boot option
select Set Default - and choose [2nd -Init]
restart the phone again.
one more question : what was the last ROM you flashed ?
This was the first time I flashed a ROM (or tried to)
I think the wrong one, can't post links just yet
Ok so I tried it again, and IT WORKED
Now theres a new problem: I get no reception, not for calling, and not for 3g connection.
Anybody knows how to fix this?
At the lockscreen it says Emergency calls only.
I have tried several basebans switchers, but none with any succes.
(I live in Belgium by the way)

Do you have any APN's ?
Go to setting, wifi&networks, then check if you have and APN's in the access point names menu. If you dont you will have to look up an APN for your provider. I had this problem after flashing 2.2.1 sbf.

I tried to add one, but I can't probably because I dont have any service.
That is my main problem, I dont get service so I can't even make phonecalls and stuff
Use this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=662294&d=1311330982
this is a base band switcher
go to recovery and install the zip
when u restar the phone your should see a baseband swhitcher program
now select the baseband in your country and restart the phone
and thats it !
I tried almost every baseband, still no luck
Can't I just go back to stock? My pc also doens't recognise my defy anymore, so I can't put anything on the SD-card
I didn,t solve the problem that you said in the first post here and in Q&A section, can you detail how you had solved?
Thanks.

What I think did the trick was:
When I installed sndInit for the first time I chose to install the upper version (0,6...).
When I installed it for a second time I chose the version below that (1,....)
Hope this helps for you.
PS: I flashed another ROM and kernel, and now I have android 4 installed with signal/reception
Thanks for helping me guys!
Hi everybody,
sorry for bothering you, but I think I might need some help.
I tried to flash ParanoidAndroid (first try ever to flash a smartphone) but failed 'somehow'.
Initial steps to create the problem
Initial Status: Gingerbread on a Galaxy W; Pretty old and pretty messed up
Download the update.zip to root the smartphone => Becoming root worked!
Download ParanoidAndroid
Download Clockwork Recovery
Created backups using Titanium Backup as root.
Copied ParanoidAndroid to the GalaxyWs internal sd card (yes, this was my mistake)
Wipe cach partition => It said, it worked, I don't know if it did
Rebooted phone => all fine
Rebooted into recovery mode applied update from SD-Card=> Selected ParanoidAndroid.zip => ErrorMessage (I think it was something like file corrupt, sorry I'm not sure about the specific words, but it sounded like this is no updatefile or this file is not a valid zip file.
Status of the problem
Bootup shows Samsung Logo
Bootup than shows GalaxyW-Screen Logo
Bootup than shows the android recovery symbol OR directly reboots
When trying to open the recovery menu, every second time I get the message "Updating (...) Installing MultiCSC... Can't access /system/csc/DBT/system"
If opening recovery menu works, I can only acces the internal storage of the galaxy to install an update (tried the paranoidandroid several times, it doesn't work)
When plugging in the galaxy w to my USB port, I don't get an USB storage shown on my 2 laptops (1 "Windows 7", 1 "Ubuntu 14.0?" )
neither odin (4.43) nor Heimdall are able to flash any files.
So, simple question, what can I do next?
-I cannot copy clockworkmod to my smartphone
-I don't know if I can easily overwrite the kernel or the bootloader.
I searched the forum but didn't find a clear solution, so sorry if this special configuration was already asked.
Thanks for your help and best regards

Your ROM's download has been cut either by a connection issue or by you, That is why I always have a backup rom in my SD Card. Also For kitkat, make sure you got CWM 6.0.4.5 or higher. Personally i use PhilZ Touch Recovery. It is simple enough for me. And odin recognizes your phone only in download mode. So make sure you go to download mode then plug the phone in. And also make sure while working with odin, unplug all USBs and other phones
Hey MayB4ck,
thank you for the tips, I finally got it running Using Philz Touch Recovery. Works like hell
Best regards

Hi Guys! I have a problem, and i really don't know how can i fix it.
My phone boots normally, but when boot finish this error appear in the screen:
«Encryption was interrupted and can't be completed. Phone data cannot be used anymore.
To continue using your phone, you must restore factory settings. After the restoration, you can restore data backed up in your Google Account to your phone»
There is a "Reset Phone" button but if i push it nothing happen.
I have tried to clear data/cache in recovery but nothing changed, I have tried to install a new ROM (i tried a lot of ROMS) but when it arrive to 50% more or less installation fails.
I have tried this guide oppoforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-recover-your-bricked-find-7-7a.23067/ but it cannot work (Image Attachment)
Also FASTBOOT can't work. (For exemple: if i try to flash recovery it fails remote: failed to flash recovery / erase userdata / cache)
I really don't know where can i also looking
Help me please!
Anyone?
I'm having the same problem....
Restoring an old backup woth TWRP results in the same error.....
hi guys this happened to me too,
luckily I had twrp 2.8.6.0 flashed for recovery.
think you should still be able to get into fastboot if you do a battery pull
then poweron with the powerbutton and volume up till you see the oppo man icon.
then you should be able to flash your recovery with the latest twrp.
if you seen the penquin then this may not work for you. As i have not done a hard recovery before so i dont know if it would work.
I saw the oppo man so i was able to fix it by:
booting into twrp recovery,
i selected wipe --> advanced and there was an additional option to do a wipe for encrypted volumes and i selected all partitions to be wiped
then i installed i had downloaded on my SD card, it was ColorOS 2.0.8i i believed and it fixed it.
sorry if i am a bit grey about the details i did it a while ago so.
Actually found this in the cm12.1 nighlies thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58304054&postcount=14
issue is possibly due to unified partitions
Hi , i broke my zenfone 2
I did go to Recovery mode and do a wipe cache , then the phone was stuck on "formating cache..." so i shut down the phone and when i reboot , there is the android robot saying error , it wont boot in normal mode
I only can go in fastboot , then when i press recovery he go with the robot and pressing then realease power +vol up do nothing . i know i do it right because i did manage to go to recovery to wipe cache , so the phone is stuck.
When i plug in to charger there is no more led and no more battery showing charge.
the fast boot show :
Product_name - z008
Variant - Asus_z008
Hw_Version -
Bootloader Version - unknow
Ifwi Version - 088.0163
Serial Number - xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Signing - ?
Secure_boot - ?
looks like et formated everything.
Did my phone is dead guys ? i send a mail to asus for help , but maybe you guys can tell me if it will be possible to recover the phone just with a computer and fastboot access.
Sorry for english , and thanks for your help.
Download the latest firmware files, and push them via fastboot. You should find all that you need through these forums. Once in fastboot, you will need to open Command Prompt, and access the folder with fastboot.exe and the necessary .img files. From there, you issue the following commands
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
Hi ,thank you for you help , but there is some technical issue
I have Zenfone 2 ZE550ml WW version i suppose because i get it in france.
First , i read that you need to activate "USB debugging" from your phone in order to use ADB Fastboot programe , and i cant do that since i dont have access to normal android boot.
Second , there is no official system.img file , the only one i found was for the Pre-root sytem downloadable on the website ------www .asus- zenfone. com ------ and i dont want to root , on the asus website , the firmware is a .Zip with boot.img and droidboot.img in it , so no recovery.img and system.img
Third , no i did not found what i need on the forums because the phone is pretty new and i saw nobody with the same probleme than me , peapole just want to flash CN To WW version or things like that but they have access to recovery and everything they need .
I need to recreate a fresh recovery in order to access to it , and i dont even know if it is possible without the "USB debugging" activated , and i need a source for the files too , i didn't found what i need on this forum but i still think its the best for help, still waiting for a pro to tell me what to do.
Im pretty new to android , its my first smartphone , i looked for info on the web concerning my problem but i found only Zenfone 5 feedback and they have access to recovery, looks like im the only one who have no more recovery partition and phone didnt boot in normal mode.
Phone is under warranty , and im still waiting for the Asus answer , in the warranty condition they said software problem due to incorrect use is not take under warranty , but i did not feel like i did an incorrect use , i just wanted to wipe cache partition and the phone frozen so of course i had to reboot it.
Sorry for bad english and Again thank you mrbubs3 for your help.
Hello mrbubs3 , after some research about the command "Fastboot erase cache" , it apeared that it was like a WIpe cache partition from the recovery.
Since my phone crached while doing Wipe cache partition , i used this command and now the phone BOOT IN NORMAL OMMGMG?KGEKLPGMZEG? SO THANKS!!!
First time after the command i tryed to go to recovery mode and it did not worked , then my phone started in normal mode , and then i retryed to go to recovery and it work
So Everything Work again , man so much thanks , a simple command save my life thanks you so much

You are quite welcome! And welcome to the Smartphone life!! Android is very good for superusers, and the learning curves can be quite intimidating. But the instincts that you've shown with researching and following the directions as they are given demonstrate that you should be fine.
A quick note: recovery is like a recovery partition on a computer's hard-drive, that is typically accessed when there is an OS or hardware issue. While recovery can be traditionally stored on USB, CD or other portable media, the form factor for a phone places a certain limitation on that. The bootloader is like the BIOS screen for a phone, so that is where you can enter in low-level commands. That is why adb reboot recovery does not work if you're having phone problems but fastboot commands work at the bootloader. Hope that clarifies things a bit!!
But most of all, welcome to XDA!
Indeed.. Quiet intimidating.. Even for a person who has been using numbers of androids for numbers of years.. Thank you so much mrbubs3..
Michel66. Thank you for posting the question.

Yes Michel66. Please do so tell us. Can you also include the links where we can download the necessary files? Same thing happened to my zf2 and I had to pay a lot to a technician to do it. Even them had a hard time. Now I'm afraid to update and do wipe cache partition to my phone.

Here is everything you need, remember you are using fastboot, NOT ADB...
Check out topic 1 for files needed...
Hello, I haveNokia 6.1 (2018) and I have just got it into a strange state. It happened during custom rom install, or to be more precise during the set-up (probably). I have finished setting up the Omni ROM from this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6-2018/development/rom-omnirom-t3945850) and wanted to install magisk to have root.
After downloading the .zip file, I rebooted into TWRP (through the fastboot mode and using the "fastboot boot image.img" command) and TWRP asked for a password to decrypt the storage. I tried password that I am pretty sure is correct, but the TWRP insisted it is incorect. I tried several variations to it in case I made a misclick during a setup but no luck. I wiped everything (system, cache, data, sd) and through a fastboot mode I uploaded stock boot, vendor and system to both slots.
After the reboot, I am stuck on the password (system PIN, to be precise - not the SIM PIN, that is OK) screen. When I enter an incorrect PIN, it will say that the PIN is incorrect, but when I enter the correct one, screen just goes black for a while and I am back at the screen to enter the PIN.
Is there a way to get out of this mess? I am able to get into fastboot mode and boot recovery.
Any help would be much appreciated.
More details about the process as I forgot to include. TWRP used was 3.2.3 from this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...recovery-twrp-3-2-3-0-touch-recovery-t3825545). Stock FW (Nov 2019 version) used was from this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...de-how-to-make-backups-restore-stock-t3889815)
Before the OMNI ROM install I have tried stock system with custom vendor (version 2.2 from the thread linked in the OMNI ROM thread) which could also contribute to the failure, but the phone did not even boot (it got stuck on the "android one" logo). I hoped that I could at least get the ability to convert SD to internal storage, as that feature is disabled on stock, but with custom vendor it works (tested on the OMNI rom, which I managed to install correctly before)
I have also found here an OST tool, which could potentially help with the situation (I am not sure) but I am missing the original firmware files to use with this tool.
The problem must be with the internal storage encryption, which got messed up in the process (I am not still sure, what went wrong). Am I correct that now I would need to find the original loadout (is there something as RUU available fror this model?) and basically revert everything including the bootloader unlock and start from the begining? Could someone here point me in the right direction how to fix this issue?
If the only way is to pay someone to fix this issue, I will gladly provide any reasonable amount if it will resolve my problem.
So all I had to do was boot into TWRP and do a factory reset from there. How stupid of me that I did not try this.
