Hidden Service menu Code

I was curious if there was service menu and, found the code for the P920, and I just replaced the 920 with 970 and it worked, code for service menu is 3845#*970#

its a service menu for settings and testing purpose for the factory, I was hoping by getting into the service menu I would be able to turn off the LTE radio, but even in the service menu I can`t find anywhere to turn off the LTE radio.
Nuts. That's exactly what I was hoping to find, too. Turn off LTE for extra battery. Should be a no-brainer,but apparently not.
Service Menu > LTE-Only > Modem Settings > RAT Selection > LTE Only
OR
Service Menu > WCDMA-Only > Modem Settings > RAT Selection > etc.
Carrier: Bell Canada

Ah ha! Changing it to WCDMA seems to lock it to just "4g" rather than "4g lte" and it's giving me hspa+ type speeds. Will have to see if battery life improves. Thanks!
So is there a way to make a shortcut or toggle for that?

enable applications from any source in dev options and install the "any cut" apk from the browser
freewarelovers.com/android/download/temp/1281882094_Any_Cut_1.0.apk
create a shortcut to "activity" and then "network mode" - voila! GSM/WCDMA actually turns off the LTE radio
Or you could go into build.prop, change ro.radio.network.type to enable then change network mode In the network settings menu

yes this worked perfect, my file I had to change in my phone was ro.radio.networkmod=disabled and mounted as R/w in system folder modified with text editior in Root explorer, ro.radio.networkmod=enable, and save file and exit and rebooted phone. then go in settings and networks ---> connectivity--->mobile networks--->network mode , then you have your network chioices.
Just be careful here. Several of us found that disabling LTE caused a ton of wakelocks and killed the battery. Test it and see.
Hopefully we can get that fixed with a ROM.

I am now convinced (and have told both at&t and lg) that this is due to fast dormancy.
I have not had any success disabling fast dormancy on a stock Rom rooted or not.
There IMEI change function in the service menu.
Is it really works??

I see again another North American Optimus G model that still has the same baseband version as all the rest. Is this implying that all the models should support 700, 1800, 2100 and 2600mhz LTE bands, they just have them disabled in software?

I turned it off for a day just to see and it seemed to get the same or worse battery. I think the longer waits to download things with the screen on longer outweighs the cost of LTE when idle. It did run a little cooler as LTE tends to heat things up. OS might have been a little more responsive too...although that could have just been me thinking I get better battery when using it. Biggest battery saver is Eco-Mode...when it is off this thing drops battery as fast or faster than the Atrix HD I had.
Hopefully FD or whatever is causing the Phone/Android System to use so much battery will be fixed soon and all will be good. Other than that and my back button giving haptic feedback and the OS not responding to it every now and then this phone is nice.
For those interested in getting to the Service Menu quicker I made an app for it- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34766577
Does anybody know the difference between the end result of the "factory reset" option in the service menu and going thru the long, convoluted LGNPST method of restoring back to factory settings?

How did you open this on Bell? I can't for the life of me get service to open
- I open dialer
- Dial 3845#*973#
- nothing happens
- I hit green dial key
- A box pops up saying "USSD code running" for a second, then another one that says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code."
Tried eith 970, 971, 973... how are you guys getting this to work?
EDIT: I can't even dial '#06#' and get it to work... does this not work if you are rooted? Did I delete an APK i should not have? What APKs are responsible for loading these menus?
EDIT2: OK - so *#06# pops it up instantly... going to keep experimenting...
EDIT 3: So, it seems to me, that it has to do with timing. If you don't dial the codes fast enough they don't work... very unusual.

T-Mobile has thrown the VoLTE switch nationwide

I missed that during the Earnings Call yesterday, John Legere announced VoLTE is now available nationwide!
https://twitter.com/JohnLegere/status/494991141251874816
Unfortunately, the G3 does not support it yet. I have seen VoLTE messages in the logs:
I/[SystemUI]VoLteImageView( 1201): onReceive = android.intent.action.CONFIGURATION_CHANGED
D/PhoneApp( 1585): getIsInUseVoLTE : false
D/ConfigUtils( 1585): setSupportedUsimMobilityForVoLTE() : false
So this should be something LG and T-Mobile are working on and should enable soon, especially since the G Flex already supports it.

I noticed today when calling someone I get the HD Voice badge that shows up in the dialer while in call. So the quality will improve, even more? Because the difference is already insane.

I don't think you'll get better quality than HD Voice, but your phone won't have to jump down to 4G to make or receive calls.
I did find a setting in the Engineering Menu of the phone where you can turn on the VoLTE on the phone last week. I did just try it turning it on and the phone reboots itself, tried making a few calls but it still drops down to 4G and doesn't maintain the LTE connection.
Still get the HD Voice icon on the calls, but I guess Tmobile didn't change or update the provisioning on the G3 yet for VoLTE, obviously, but worth the try.
For those that want to know where that particular setting is, tap in 3845#*851# in the dialer, then tap on "WCMDA-Only" (7th one down) then "Modem Settings" (3rd down) then scroll to the bottom and tap "VoLTE Radio NV On/Off" (2nd from last) and then you can choose On or Off and the prompt will say you need to reboot the phone.

Good find! I was going through the list today and none of the items jumped out at me. It's just buried deep. I'll give it a try and see what comes up on the logs if we enable it through the engineering screen.
FYI - noticed the same setting under LTE-only

I know some G3 users got a update but not sure what carrier. I wonder if that makes it stick?
AT&T but they don't have volte
Sorry for the late reply, as others have said, the G3 still drops to 4G when on a call. I did notice it takes a while to get back onto LTE after hanging up, unless you put it into Airplane Mode and then back off.
The only folder I could find on the phone with VoLTE was in /sys/devices/fe02c000.sound/VoLTE/
In that folder, in /power/ is a file called runtime_status and it lists it as "unsupported".
Outside of that, I can't find any other setting or file that says VoLTE is on or other, outside of the Engineering menu or that lonely folder.
I take it this won't work if we're using AT&T?

Volte not working

I noticed my Volte provision shows to Turn On - but I have tried several times with no luck and I had it on my other device and usually no problem to turn it on or off on those devices.
If someone doesn't mind can you go into Radio Info. Unless you have a code# to type in, I use the app Hidden Android Settings. Download it and scroll down and go in
Radio Info and it's at bottom and see if yours say
Turn on Volte Provisioned Flag or is it on like it's supposed to be Thanks ahead of time.
HD Voice(VZW term for VOLTE) is on by default on the Verizon Note 7.

Oh ok so the button in hidden settings doesn't matter, whew i'm glad, I was begining to worry that my volte button and device was giving problems. Thanks
easy way to check is just call someone and see if the HD voice text is shown on your dial screen.

But to me it would seem like if it's selected then the volte provision should also be On under hidden menu, wouldn't you.

If your rooted you need to enable hidden menus by editing the file below
/efs/carrier/HiddenMenu
there is only 1 entry - OFF, change this to on.
Even after doing this the code mentioned does nothing.

Wifi Calling & VoLTE - missing in settings

Just wondering, i've seen this being an issue, but just wanted to have confirmation here.
Is Wifi Calling and VoLTE "carrier" issue, or google or how does it really work on a Pixel. I know that on samsung and huawei, it's just in the settings and you can enable or disable them. Apparently on the 3XL it should be in > settings> Network and Internet >Mobile networks. But i just don't have it... any ideas how i can get it? my provider (Swisscom) has that option on all other phones, except my 3XL.
Ideas?
same hereinstalling the volte enabler in magisk enables wifi calling option but not volte

Is there a specific reason it doesn't show by default in the settings? Where does this issue come from? Google or the carrier? Thanks for your input.

Call your carrier and make sure your account is provisioned for those features.
You may also need a new SIM card to enable them.
It may also be that your carrier doesn't support those features on that phone.

Indeed, but if I'm not wrong Verizon has dedicated ROMs right? I'm curious to know about the international , unlocked version...wonder if I'm the only one on this boat, or if the magisk trick will make it work. I can't see how my carrier can change the settings , that don't even show up in my settings. If they were grayed out ok, but not even showing I assume it's another issue
So, got off the call with the Swisscom hotline... and they said that VoLTE and WifiCalling (advanced settings) are enabled by default, and then depending of the phone manufacturer to see if it's enabled or not in their settings.
Bottom line, it's on Google's shoulders to enable it.... but on google's page it says this : Wifi Calling
BUT When i go into >phone>settings>calls > call forwarding ... i get a message saying "Call setting error Network or SIM card error" ... which by my logic (maybe i'm wrong) that the phone doesn't recognize my SIM card "well enough", thus not having the advanced settings to enable VoLTE or Wifi Calling.
I called my carrier, asked them to reset my SIM card... and same issue.
So it's to my eyes, 100% a google issue.
should be somewhere in factory settings like the op6 we had to go to #*#*4362 or something like that to enable it

Sim cards can go bad, hence your sim card error. Sometimes, you just need to go to your carrier, show them the error, and make them replace the sim.

So I activated VoLTE accidentally?

Like most of you guys I wasn't able to obtain VoLTE, so I started to look in settings and stuff. I was in the Engineering Mode and saw a option called Misc Feature Config.
In there there is and option called HVoLTE I clicked on it and selected the other option which is BSRLTE and waited 10 seg and reverted back to HVoLTE and walla!
VoLTE is now activated.
I don't know of this will work for you but you could try.
I have the Global Version on T-Mobile.

Obviously, but it wasn't connecting through anything like all my other phones, the only way that it appears is by doing that.
