so look likes it just ignores sim card. Try with another sim. Did you buy this phone from a telecom provider? It could happen that the flashing did some damage in the low-level firmware. If it's the case, you'd need the original provider's software. I don't really know if it can be the case with note 5s, but other models had this issue back then.
Without imei, no network will obviously come.
If it at least detects the sim, you can manually flash the imei. After that, it should work provided the phone detects the sims correctly.

If you have the fastboot ROM, then reflash it.
If it doesn't work, then grab another ugglite from someone, install twrp, make a backup of the modem partition.
Then on your broken mobile, make a twrp backup of the modem.
Copy the files from working mobile twrp backup to your twrp backup and replace them.
On recovery, hit restore.

Oh nice then, hopefully it won't lose imei again:good:
Have the same issue in Mexico when upgrade to MIUI 10, tried some things and nothing works, so i went to my carrier provider, they check my number in their system and everything was fine, so they proceed to change my SIM Card and vuola, network returns and till now, no problems.
It was like the upgrade cause a failure in the Sim Card.
Is the first time something like this happen in my flashing life.
Hope it works for you too.
I have a problem with my Redmi note 5a lite. My baseband is: 7_GENNS_PACK-1.108 857.1.109523.1 (I doubt that this is not the correct baseband firmware), IMEI are OK but my phone is only emergence calls only.
Can any help me?
Thanks in advance.

Hello to everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help with this. I have a Galaxy Note 2 branded by an Italian company (3hg Italia). It recently received its update to Android 4.3 (update N7100XXUEML2). It was the official update OTA, the phone is not rooted and it had the stock ROM on it. The update somehow messed up my IMEI making it appear as the generic 0049 forcing me on "Emergency calls only" mode. I already tried flashing the same ROM with Odin and repeating the update with KIES, but while the updates always results successful the IMEI remains 0049. I never made a backup of the EFS folder for this phone since I haven't rooted it or flashed any different ROM on it yet. There is any chance that the phone made an automatic backup? I live in the States right now and Samsung tells me I need to ship it back to Italy to have it fixed, but that costs a lot and would take forever, and I would much prefer try to solve the problem locally. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, if not for any fix that I can try myself, at least some place on the West Coast that can fix the problem!
Thank you!
Lorenzo
Oh I forgot to add that because of Hardware problems I recently sent my phone to Samsung and they replaced the motherboard, which fixed the problem I was having. I don't know if that could be related!

I'm afraid that fix works just if you have your actual IMEI, I instead have the generic IMEI that starts with 0049. But I will check it out! Thanks!

So I found someone nice enough to give me a hand with this situation, but still no luck yet! Here what they say:
At first glance, the EFS data on the phone was corrupt. I re-generated
that data and restored it to the phone without success.
The GSM radio itself is operational, and the firmware for it is
installed and functional. diagnostic data flows to the towers and back
to the phone but it's not reading the IMEI from the copy of
nv_data.bin contained within EFS. I've re-generated and installed
those files as well, again with no luck.
I rolled the device back to it's original factory firmware and radio
baseband, then ran through the update for the radio baseband, which
also regenerates the contents of EFS, and still no luck.
Given the situation, anyone have other suggestions?

You didn't answer my question. Flashing a modem might save you all this trouble.
As for playing with IMEI, it's never a good idea and guides are being removed everywhere due to being illegal in some places.
Flash you mean with a jtag or flash like installing a rom with a program. Ive flashed roms through usb and I would know how to flash my nv file on another board
well if I cant change the imei forget it than

I had done that lol and didn't work. I did solve my problem though. I read nv file from another board with nv-reader-writer and replaced imei with mine and works. I guess the nv file was corrupt.
Hello! I upload a capture of all the errors. I'm very interested in solving the IMEI. Thanks for your help!
On stock firmware does it show a correct IMEI?
If so, the problem is random flashing.
Do you have backup of the .cert and or .efs files?
If so, search on how to use them.
If you know the IMEI and it is network blacklisted, use a service for unlocking it. Online you can find it.
I hope I helped.

I don't know if it helps, but when I flashed a Combination for my phone, when i had an unknown IMEI, it showed me one working and network working too but I don't know if you can make use of that IMEI or even if it is valid.
And solved my unknown IMEI just by flashing last stock rom.
If you have your phone rooted, you can extract those files via adb, plenty of tutorials online.

The combination "os" is not a full os, is like a test one, so i would not recommend you to install it.
Here you can find it, the page need you to be registered and to pay for a fastest download, none the less, it can be downloaded without paying but it is a little bit slower

Remember that you need XXU4

Hm what is left is just to flash stock, keep it in a wifi connection 168 hours and then flash twrp for rooting the phone and getting those files, lets hope they are not corrupted.
The waiting it is because samsung have seven days as the time.for the bootloader to be unlocked and allowing the phone to be modified.
Good luck.
Also, if you are interested in more details about the waiting for rooting:

By default it will erase all data, but there may be a way to modify the installer.
You'd have to Google that trick though. I don't know it.
I would assume you can flash the other ROM just fine but you might have to change the modem?
That is what I had to do when I flashed Euro ROM on my USA T-Mobile phone.
Other than modem, everything else worked fine.

First thing to learn when in a "development" world, make always backups. No matter what tutorials you follow, no matter what modifications you do, there is NEVER a guarantee it will all go smoothly, hence why you should be ready to backup your files before trying anything.

If your signal works fine, then don't worry about it.
If you can't access any cellular, then change to a modem that fits your region.

How long was it working on Eu rom before it gave you a problem? Maybe you temporarily sim unlocked the phone for 30 days and that ran out?
OnePlus says you must go through tmobile to get it unlocked. Tmobile does need it on their network for a day or so to be able to unlock it. (They tried to do mine manually but there was no data for my phone and there is an exchange that takes place on their server so it has to be online).
Looks like the efs may be somewhat corrupt. Hope you backed up modemst1/modemst2 partitions like the conversion thread suggested you do. You'll want to flash these both back on and then problems should be resolved. You cannot use someone else's partitions, has to be yours.
MSM'ing will not help this situation. Need to unlock permanently using t-mobile's unlock in original ROM after you've restored those partitions. It blows an efuse when it does this, no custom rom can be used as a workaround.
I also had the same problem on OP9. It happened after playing with modemst partition.

unfortunately i tried that too. this problem happened because i deleted modemst1 and modemst2 file in eu rom. I guess the tmo unlock application cannot read the phone's information so the unlock is refusing to bind.
