I'm looking for options on having a transparent navbar on stock T-Mobile Oreo (non rooted device) using Nova Launcher. I just found out about Navbar Apps, which in itself is a cool app, but I understand why it can't make the navbar opaque or transparent.
Besides being rooted, are there any other options for this to happen? Thanks!

0 issues using any of the themes I posted.
I came from pixel and pixel 2, I pretty much have a full pixel set up. I usually go with a pixel butt I have a TMobile plan that needed a upgrade so i got the S9. S9 had mods that could get me close enough to a pixel experiance.

Nav gestures seemed like a possible alt a however i wasn't ready to pay extra to use the gestures i wanted to use.
Search Samsung theme store and search pie it'll bring these up they have the pie navbar in stock themes

See if you just want nav bar to be invisible, just try one plus gestures app from playstore, it will hide the nav bar and you can make the activation area for the app transparent and you can use all apps as if there is no nav bar.

Thanks, I've been reading about it for a while now, but haven't decided to use it yet. It does seem like a great option.
I'm on S8+
Multi action home button App
Shortcutter for immersive mode
Nova Launcher Navbar hide
Now you can use the entire screen
In the multi action homebutton app
You can hide the responsive buttons completely
Or I made the touch areas tiny. See screenshots

This mod only replaces one file. Just replace /system/app/SystemUI.apk with the one from the AOKP zip to revert. You'll need to mount /system as writable first obviously.

great work.
May I ask, if it's possible to MOD the statusbar and notifications completely upside down.
That is, similar to android 3.0 tablet, statusbar always displaying on the bottom, and swipe up to open notifications with widget toggles also on the bottom.
I think that's even more convenient swiping up than down as the screen becoming bigger...
Thanks.

Flashing multiple mods is hit or miss cause they all mess with the system ui, gotta choose wisely lol!
I'm mixing and matching theme elements, modded status bar from this, status bar transparency from the other. I already had the 15 toggle mod installed, didn't theme it with the aroma installer, it still works.

Same her 9wire...I havent tried the 15 toggles though I left stock..but kinda been building like yourself here and there..looking good so far... Am gonna try the 15 toggles now though..
It does matter the order you flash stuff, this theme changed my status bar icons, but I lost transparency, I can just flash the trans mod after the aroma installer and have its icons on a transparent status bar though, you can even do it in the same session.
I'm on the modded 7105 multi window rom, and the 4 way restart works.
I did something dumb just now, was changing my wallpaper with an app, thought I somehow borked my statusbar, what I did was make a screenshot my wallpaper.
Here's my setup for now.

In the bar under the big colour selector slide the slider all the way to the right and you get like a chequered effect apply that and the starus bar goes transparent. Hope that makes sense.

Hi yes you need root. It's in the tweakbox app in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012770
The scrolling wallpaper apk is brilliant it also gives you an extra row of icons on your homescreen which looks so much better.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629653 for the apk. On my 7105 LTE, the background color piece under the status bar is not selectable so it does not appear to be supported on the 7105. The signal strength bars mod works though, showing 6 bars (5 worked also). You have to reboot to apply the changes.

I can't select it on my 7105, the checkbox is not selectable. Is that part of libsurfaceflinger.so under the libraries tab of the installer? I wasn't sure since the options are for 9100 and 9300 models.

Finally! I found the Nexus 5 default wallpaper from N5 ported rom and modified it using PS to fit well when you apply using Google Home/Launcher. I just want to share it with you guys, ENJOY!
Update:
Nexus 5 homescreen icons included (Google Dialer, Hangouts, App Drawer, Google Chrome, Google Camera)
N5 Wallpaper for ro.sf.lcd_density=320 to fit the red background for status bar icons.
New: If you want to make your lockscreen's status and navigation bar transparent, you can flash the attached zip (framework-res-lockscreen-transparent-nav-status-bar.zip) via cwm for full kitkat experience.
Note: Tested only in the new 4.4 build by @#GN0ME (deodex), flash it at your own risk, if you got bootloop, just re-flash your rom Thanks!
Note: I changed the value of ro.sf.lcd_density= in system/build.prop from 320 to 300 for better icon size.
(Applicable only if you're using 4.4 rom with Google Home, since you can change icon size in nova and any other launcher)
Thanks to:
boykioy for porting Nexus 5 rom
Quinny899 for tutorial in transparent lockscreen nav/status bar
