There's still one month left for official support. It says no guaranteed security updates, telephone or online support after November 2018. https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4457705?hl=en
After that, you may stick with any LineageOS based ROM.

Nice news
we are all waiting for cyanogenmod or AOSP
Don´t I remember reading LeEco never does give away source code ???
I told them...they are wrong at least this time.....GOOD FOR ALL OF US :victory::victory::victory:
Correct...now we can have CM13/14 and AOPS.
WAIT! Why is model number different ???
A little more complete information about Leeco Open source project :

why the model is x727 not x720?
They removed the source code from their side. I only hope developers got what they need.

My guess is that the x727 maybe for different RAM/storage, or maybe the US variant. I just look at the US variant spec and there seem to be some different in term of spec.

Sources...? Great. I just ordered the phone.
I'm considering buying this device because I like the specs and the price point. I already have a Nexus 6, 6P and a Pixel XL on the way so even if it doesn't have any ROM/Kernel support I'd still like to take it for a spin.

My Pixel XL is at home waiting for me right now. I own and operate my own trucking company and I am on the road alot. I'm going to see what I can do with it when I get home. The ramdisk inside the system is a weird one for me. I thought I misread that part when I was doing some earlier research about it.

ROMs won't have a problem, system root won't either but systemless stuff is useless on Pixels.

No, I meant that it looks like they're the right sources.
And on top of that... the changes from CAF kernel sources are very minimal. Porting CM to this should be a snap.
I'm very tempted to buy this on the flash sale when it goes on sale in the US...
That's great news!! Thanks for clarifying.
I just signed up for their $100 rebate available for the Nov 2 flash sale today myself. Only $299!!

Just received April security patch on XT1685 (RETEU - Poland). NPNS25.137-93-10 - only 41 MB, so we have to still wait for Oreo.

First of all, the title of that topic is imprecise (it does not say about the APRIL update but about the "SWEET" update - what is it?!)
Secondly, there are only 2 posts talking about a possible coming, without any particulars that someone has already received.
That is why this topic is better.

No other company except Nokia is providing Oreo update to its midrange smartphones.
Nokia also sells overpriced smartphones.
(i.e. Nokia 6) then they provide quick updates.
Motorola will provide oreo to G Series.
and G Series is more value for money.

True. Our device gets regularly security patches, will get Oreo soon, offers great hardware with an almost vanilla android OS for round about 200€.
It's my second Motorola and it won't be my last.
The only device coming to my mind that offers good value for that price is from Huawei (Honor) and I won't swap to a chinese device with worse update intervals.
This is a midrange phone, if someone wants Oreo at once he should buy a Pixel or a OP5. I'm not willing to spend that amount of money.

May be they are providing phase by phase. It's already 2 days. You should be receiving by now.
Anyone facing charging issues after the update? And faster battery drain? Anyway to roll back?
I updated, new camera app seems to produce much better photos? Is it placebo on my end?
My recommendation....once officially updated into Oreo...give it away to any family or friend member and go with HTC or Google not Motorola anymore....unless you dont care at all about updates....bless you guys!
Any way to make this update flashable through TWRP? I'm using a deoxeded rom with Nov 2017 update and it doesn't find new updates.

Twrp flashable builds, especially when deodexed won't find any OTA because they aren't official firmware anymore. That's good because any OTA would hardbrick your device.
The only thing you can do is ask the dev of your ROM to update the source to the latest available full firmware which is as far as I know 93-4 or (92-4 for India) containing january security patch. These are full firmwares, not just as an OTA patch.

You can have, so far, a fair number of treble GSIs to be flashed. It's a good start.
It would be far way better to get a good kernel development, IMHO.
Lets hope for a official one!

Looking at the threads related to treble stuff, onscreen FP seems to be a common issue, even if it could vary device by device. Same for camera (Gcam ports wise) and other minor bugs. If you are looking for some AOSP, at the moment GSIs are the only option available.
You must check for some development of sd710/712 devices to understand if some porting/development could be operated in a short while.
This phone has just been released in Europe. Should it be necessary to share a third-party system after a few months?

Relax, man. First, buying the device is not very easy in Brazil, I heard. Second, after buying the device, the dev (as everyone) needs to wait 1-1,5 or even 2 weeks until he can unlock bootloader. So maybe he has not even unlocked bootloader yet and you already panic.
As said above, it had been made a fundraising for a developer from pixel experience to buy the Mi 9 SE and build a rom for it. The goal was reached on 06/26, so the development may already have started or he's waiting for the device to arrive or unlock bootloader. We soon should see the first builds I guess. Let's wait a bit.
any news for this ? like "developer already got the device and are waiting for unlocking keys" or "developer is working on PE" ? anything ??

I really wish there was a non MIUI stable, fully working custom rom out there. I tried the available options. But, for now, Xiaomi.eu 9.6.27 + Okita kernel (+ Debloater tool) remais the best combination for me.

Starting a new thread for all Aussie mates. Discuss anything from suggestions, fixes, news. I will start with just mentioning.
Optus is currently offering 7 day flex prepaid plan free for 7 days and because the Pixel 6 uses E-sim facility , you can literally have two sim cards on the phone ( one physical and one e-sim ) .

I updated to A1 and things seem to be working fine. But I would want to update to A5 since the current mobile network quality is terrible compared to my Oneplus 5T, same SIMs (Optus and Telstra). Interesting that we didn't have Aus specific update before. Do you think that the process of updating A1 to A5 would be the same as from 037 to A1? I am rooted and don't want to lose data.
Ah, this is interesting, I did a factory reset and updated using the A1 build yesterday, not knowing that there was going to be an A5 Australian version!
Interestingly, since updating to the A1 version, I've definitely experienced my Telstra 5G signal being noticeably worse than before updating
Looking forward to A5 now!

Great, new to ADB and all things pixel coming from Note. So I have root (only after bricking and fixing lol) but wondering if you can point in the direction where I might get some detailed instructions to do what you did, I think I get it but not 100% sure and with my track record it would end in tears. Kinda confused by your answer, maybe you can clarify. The article states that it will provide "a user interface similar to Harmony" which doesnt mean it will be a harmony OS. Nor does it state it'll be google based either.
Btw the "new" features in 12 arent mind blowing at all. The grand majority of them are already present in 11.
