Is there any developer who can make custom kernel.
Because over clock custom kernel is not available for our device.
Developer's please make :crying:

Even I had made a thread a long time ago, but did not get much response
Yes..
They are ignoring
Many phone have kernels.
Instead of making new Roms developers must make new kernel's.
This p2 BEAST need over clock and performance kernel.
Developers are doing great but they must make kernel

Yeah totally agreed, I have been wondering this myself for a while.
As, I have seen some great kernel for other devices like RN3, Moto g4, etc
But, why our beloved p2 doesn't have any kernel developments ??
Are the kernel sources for our device not released ? ? or some other reasons idk, but we all will appreciate some development in the kernel end of our device.
As, kernels can provide much of what we are searching in every other roms like battery, performance, kcal, etc.

noob kernel knowledge here.
is there a way to run test on different kernels to see which is more efficient or has an improvement? i'm about to flash ManU 2.0
For battery efficinecy - just the long run test.
Other way you can try test like - RL Benchmark, Quadrant, Antutu, Neocore, SD Speed Test etc.
i cant seem to find any other custom roms for desire besides ManU and MoDaCo Custom Kernel (MCK). are there any others out there and which is 'better'?

Hi.
I think you wanted to say "any other custom kernel for desire". If this is true take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328 at the 3rd post. There you have kernels for AOSP ROMS and Sense ROMS.
Hope it helps you.

Coutts was doing awesome kernel's but he abandoned project i think, you can still search the forums for it. (they are kinda outdated now)
kinda seems to me all the kernel are kinda like an 'in built' setCPU

Such a great thread thanks for that, never seen it before
I want to know if I need to install a custom rom or a custom kernel or a combination of both so that I can overclock my phone(1ghz single core). Please help. Why is everybody so silent here, so unwilling to answer a simple question as this. My fourth post of the same question.
hey dude....

if u install a custom rom it is obvious that a custom kernel will get installed automatically...
any way there is a app called setCpu that helps u overclocking the phone required your phone is rooted...
u can also use "seeder" an app that tries to add smothness to the kernel....

You would only require a custom kernel for your purposes.

Custom ROMs can be built with stock kernels so that's not always true.
hey listen...

The question asked did not specify a specific ROM. The question was what would be required to perform OC. What is required is a custom kernel that allows tweaking. Telling someone if they install a custom ROM they automatically get a custom kernel is misinformation.
plzzz be clear

i think u need to read the question properly..
he is asking about custom kernel and rom as well....
if u use stock kernel then it would work only with aosp based roms with only minor changes not the change that allows processor tweaking...
and one more thing the stock kernels used to be part of custom roms of gingerbread ...
it's a very know fact that maximum of the devices from Indian brands never have access to these well known rooms while they have good specifications. Why is it so?
yes Roms from other devices are ported to the Indian brand mobiles but it doesn't match my expectations.
If these senior respected developers can somehow show some love to Indian brand mobiles, it would be great.
It's my personal thinking. Yours can differ.

see..
what i have understood is.. basically custom roms are developed for whom, whose official roms are pathetic and have loads of bloatwares.
indian brands do not take load to customize the rom and barely put few bloatwares resulting low cost mobile fones.
these are stock androids are i feel are very stable wrt performance. :good:
we only have option to play with launchers :fingers-crossed:

Yes I agree. It also provide performance improvement options. Optimization on various things and near possibility to do any things. Problem is we need some sources based on CM or PA to start with MTK devices. Hopes one day will have it. Then we will start it.

Mtk devices are in market from so long and still nothing happened.... Still waiting..
The main problem!
CM, Paranoid, AOKP, AOSP are some great ROM's indeed! However, I believe Mediatek does not release it's kernel source, in other words, It's kernels are 'Closed Source'. Cyanogenmod requires a custom kernel to be built and compiled, for that, complete kernel source is needed. A few leaked sources for MT6589 made first CM possible. Until MTK changes it's mind, its very much impossible to see all those quality ROM's for our handsets. I also think that there is a petition on change.org, requesting Mediatek to make everything open source. You can sign it, I have signed it as well.

Nobody has the guts to develop a new kernel for the latest firmware, 4.4.2 KitKat?!! This phone needs a stable kernel to achieve its potential. If you are working at something, please post here your work and are a few people happy to help with testing. Come on, guys, make a better kernel!

Please, tell me where did you saw the kernel source code for Android 4.4.2 because I want to download ...
I didn't... But I know a guy (Franco) that a few years ago made a kernel for LG Optimus One without the source. The best kernel I ever installed! And that little LG O1 run better then that a lot of smartphones today.

Hi, yes you're right, you can make a kernel without it's source, but its nearly impossible on a device with so many closed-source-drivers usw. . Also you need to know very much about the way our phone works, many details usw.
I would simply say, noone can Reverse Engineer the P6-Kernel, and those who can will not do this for a decive with such a little community
EDIT:
The only possibility to create a working kernel would to try porting a kernel from the P7-Sources
But anyone ask nicelly for that source code?

You shouldn't know the last version for flashing. Every developer makes its different ROMs based on android versions adding some extra features.
Just check and flash the ROMs which are stable in state and your done.
Beta version contains some bugs &
Alpha version is always buggy.
Hope this would be helpful for you.
Happy Flashing

You can even flash any of the ROM from that list and update it later, after all they are stock ROMs .
