Canadian snapdragon firmware question - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Can I flash an older firmware from sammobile via odin without bricking the thing? If so, what's the best way to wipe everything to the fullest without root before flashing the new (old) firmware?
Pic is before and hopeful after firmwares

No, you cannot downgrade the Bootloader

[Q] Need available AT&T 4.1.1 I747 link to downgrade my S3

This pretty annoyance me when I found link both sammobile or 4shared or other stuff but end up they all super slow (700MB file but transfer rate 1kb/s). I download and get it but end up .zip file and got failed in Odin(in phone appear unsupported dev_type)
So my question is does anyone here have the right one .tar.md5
in Sammobile I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_ATT.zip (if you can download it for me and upload it back to Mediafire pls....pls I beg you)
or other thing else that could work perfectly.
because I really need it to downgrade my phone so I can unlock sim card.
Thank and big thank in advance
Do not attempt to downgrade your bootloader if you have the 4.3 or higher bootloader. Attempts to downgrade the bootloader can brick your phone.
If you are on the 4.3 or higher bootloader, you will have to buy an unlock code.

Yes. Look around and you will see posts from other owners that attempted the downgrade and bricked their phone.
What bootloader is on your phone?

From the app, what is the bootloader and modem? We just need the last 3 characters.

Sorry guys I'm totally new to this forum, but I too have the NE4 bootloader and was wondering if a Odin downgrade would also brick my phone as well? I want to avoid using Odin because my Microusb port is kind of wonky too. I want to go back to stock because my phone has been acting up, and was hoping to start off fresh. Thanks in advance!
If you have the 4.3 or higher bootloader, do not attempt to downgrade the bootloader or modem to be safe.

[A5 2017] Official firmware change [RESOLVED]

Hello, I have the A5 2017 with the official firmware but I would like to move from my telecom rom (orange france) to official samsung (to avoid default apps) without breaking the warranty (and the phone) maybe with an ota or sammobile (odin) (I'm still on december security patch).
Thanks.
Then you need to download the firmware from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin

Won't it break the warranty/know and the firmware? (it's my new phone I want to take care )
It may be possible, but be aware that if it's a branded firmware they usually put stuff in hidden partition and use different pit-file so there is a chance it won't work. Also be aware that if you try to change, and updates the bootloader in the process, then you may not be able to get back to original firmware if that bootloader version is older. They can not be downgraded.
Is the phone locked to carrier orange?

It might be locked carrier but as far as I know they update bootloader for a new android major update. What I want now is to upgrade the security patch (still android 6.0.1) and get earlier access to updates (with my carrier I'm still on december patch).
I flashed it, worked well, thanks for your help.

downgrading question

Hello all
I have a question regarding downgrade.
I have a g5 xt 1676 dual sim 16 gb, 3gb ram. Now i am running npps 25.137-72-4 version. As u all know.. getting firmware for full flash is a pain for moto g5. I got this phone in some old firmware, and got two ota updates since then .. and it became 25.137-72-4 version..
Now i want to reflash it to stock firmware. I already have an unlocked bootloader .
So my question is.. since i have unlocked bootloader.. can i downgrade?
I have this firmware - CEDRIC_NPP25.137-33_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC
As you see.. this is 25.137-33
This is the latest i could get. ( Please feel free to share any updated firmware if you have, a twrp backup of untouched stock firmware will also work)
I am concerned about bootloader brick ( if any of you run 25.137-33 firmware, can you please share a picture of booloader screen, so that i can check if its the same as 25.137-72-4.)
So my plan is..
Since i have unlocked bootloader,
1) i hope i can flash 25.137-33 ( dont know if it works since i have updated firmware already) .
2) relock bootloader while flashing
3) receive ota update to update the 25.137-33 to 25.137-72-4.
And stay happy with a locked bootloader with complete stock firmware.
I dont know if this plan works, but i hope i can flash the downgraded firmware since i have unlocked bootloader.
So my primay concern and doubts are..
1) can i downgrade if i have an unlocked bootloader
2) is the bootloader of 25.137-33 same as that of 25.137-72-4
Please help me to solve these.
Below is the bootloader screen of my current firmware. 25.137-72-4
Can any one please check if it matches with the firmware 25.137-33
Any help for anyone? Can i downgrade with An unlocked bootloader?
Hi, I have the XT1670 variant, 32gb single sim
Currently running NPP25.137-93 firmware (actually a debloated version of that firmware).
Here's the picture of my bootloader I think it's the same as yours, I'm not sure if you can downgrade the bootloader, I have flashed the NPL25.137-33 several times in my phone and it always gives me error in the two first flash commands, this being "flash partition got.bin and flash bootloader.img"
The phone still reboots and works as it should
So can you downgrade? Yes I have done it and never had a problem
Can you relock your bootloader? I'm not sure
And I'm not sure if bootloader brick is a thing either
I hope this helps
Sorry I cant upload the picture but my bootloader version is: B8.23 (sha-8fcce1f, 2017-08-04 11:32:36)

You mean 25.137-33 is the version you have with b8.23 bootloader? If so its same.. not downgrade. But i dont know why u get flashing error even using same boot loaded.
1) flash partion got.bin - its the file that is responsible for repartitioning the nand memory and allocate partion for system, user data, kernel , radio, and all others..
2) flash bootloader.img - of course its the bootloader.. but how can it be error when u are flashing the same bootloader again
Do u have an unlocked or locked bootloader?
Unlocked bootloader, I have the version 25.137-93 with b8.23 bootloader, before flashing that firmware I had the 25.137-33 one with the same bootloader, there's a thread in the Moto G5 plus forum explaining how you can relock your bootloader, apparently it can be done, you have to relock your bootloader first in order to flash the complete firmware and receive ota updates

Question How to Downgrade Android 13 to A12 or A11

Hello there, I'm a new user on Samsung device. I went to install custom rom on my device. There is no rom for this SM-A225F model, So I went to downgrade. I don't know if this is possible or not, I just asked to know. And developers do not get its source code? So that we can't use custom rom on this phone too, I am eager for custom rom. Thank you all.
If your bootloader is unlocked, you can use Odin to downgrade...unless the bootloader has an anti-rollback.

Yes, I unlocked bootloader but I didn't do it with odin software. I have done this with another device and Bugjaeger apk, which is more simple from odin software.
You can't flash firmware with an APK. You must use Odin or Heimdall.

If you have a carrier locked US model there is nothing you can flash in ODIN to unlock the bootloader, as odin packages dont touch the firmware. Best you can do is hope an exploit gets found or return the phone.

Might I ask how you managed to flash a different firmware version? What method did you use to flash the A546U1 firmware?
I ask because from what I understand, the A546U version does not have the option to unlock the bootloader and in order to flash anything at all (including another stock firmware), you must first unlock the bootloader.

You can flash any stock firmware without unlocking the bootloader as long as it's official firmware

And what is the process for doing this?
Flashing another stock firmware, that is?
My objective is to flash an official European version so I can go into dev settings, unlock bootloader, the proceed to flash a custom ROM.

Do you know the reason behind this?
Because my understanding is that having a locked bootloader is the only thing preventing me from flashing a ROM on my US version (A546U).
What else is preventing me from flashing a stock official firmware on my A656U using the method you're referring to.

Well that's unfortunate. I wonder how the person who made this thread managed to flash the A546U1 firmware on a phone that was originally A546U.

Odin does allow that for some reason since they're both U.S. firmware
