I've a question that can I flash redmi 6 pro rom into my xiaomi Mi A2 lite ? is it possible ? and If that is possible , after that, can I return to stock Android one firmware and get earlier stock updates ??
You should enquire about this on A2 Lite forum. I think it's possible and will happen soon but obviously the thread will be posted by devs on Mi A2 Lite forum because it would be Redmi 6 Pro rom FOR Mi À2 lite
On the other hand, I'm looking for the opposite. I'm hoping that a good dev ports the A2 Lite rom for Redmi 6 Pro that has just gone on sale in India.

I think porting Redmi 6 pro ROM (MIUI) into Mi A2 Lite (Stock Android) is not feasible as it never happened porting any MIUI to Mi A1 due to the different partition structures of these devices. I tried the similar for Mi A1 and searched a lot. But came to know this fact. Anyone having sound technical knowledge on partition structure may explain this in details.
When it comes to the opposite, I mean porting any custom ROM (More or less similar to stock android) like Pixel, RR, etc is a reality.

Hello folks,
I have a note 5 pro. I upgraded the rom manually from 9.2 to 9.5.6 buy downloading the rom from a different site(when it was leaked) and it has a lot of bugs..
I am planning to either go back or download a stable official release but on the redmi official site I just find roms for redmi note 5 but not the pro variant..
Is it the same?
If no can someone please link me to Redmi note 5 Pro 9.5.6 ROM or latest download?
the reason am sceptical is the note 5 just has 1 camera but the pro has dual camera so I think the camera software would differ even the processor is different and few hardware changes hence j want to download the official rom and install it..
please help.

Look at the device labels in the download url. WHYRED is the version, I think your looking for.
Edit: - Global Fastboot is still on Nougat Version.

Hello a2-lite users,
I found someone ported miui rom from (6X) to A2 by replace files betwen devices software HERE.
So, I think we can do same thing to port miui from (Redmi 6 pro) to our global version because these same devices with different versions.
We cant wait any more,
I need some support only cuz I'm not developer.

Can you then apply for bootloader unlock at mi forums as if it was always a redmi 6 pro? Or use miflash version that bypass mi account?

i've bought an A2 lite for testing purposes and was also interested in modding the device - rund MIUI on it would be fantastic.
After reading some posts here and in the Mi A2 thread i thought i was ready to try the transformation
Unlocked the A2 lite, prepared the fastboot images.
I tried it with older Android 8.1 images dated July 2018 because they had the same Version state V9.4.x.x and to avoid a brick because of the later introduced Anti-Rollback function.
Sadly the partition information & structure of the Mi A2 and the Mi A2 lite differs in some very important parts (partition scheme & image file type).
There is missing at least one corresponding image file/partition on the A2 lite compared to the A2.
Tried to get to know if there is any possible alternate image to choose but was not successful.
Flashing failed everytime therefore i tried to go the way vice versa
Took the flash files from the Redmi 6 Pro and the ddr & bootloader files from Mi A2 lite.
Changed the checksums and flashed that bundle.
Flashing SEEMED to be successful desvice rebooted and BECAME A WONDERFUL BRICK on my desk.
Conclusion: Kids don't try this at home!
It was not possible to tun the device on again!

Flash with XiaMiFlash

You got to unlock bootloader, install twrp and than you can install a custom ROM like miui10 or 11 ported from 6 pro (sakura) to mi A2 lite (Daisy) take a look here

Don't try flashing MIUI on this device. When the device first came out, some smart people tried it and bricked their devices, rendering their devices useless until a fix came up. Use the MIUI ports in the ROMs section if you're such a fan of MIUI. Cheers.

Looks unlikely. Xiaomi dropped support for Android One so it means they will not fulfill those obligations anymore. Also drivers are buggy on stock ROM so custom ROMs will need improved drivers but without source code I don't see it advancing much if any. I would probably start moving onto other devices.
