Broken usb port??? - Asus Fonepad 7

Hi, recently I've fixed my k012's usb port. It was ripped from circuit, fell down while charging. Now i can charge the device alright but my pc is unable to detect the device. No ADB, no Fastboot, no MTP at all. Is my usb port busted? or do i need driver or anything. Is there any way to check if my pc can detect a device? Thank you.

T989 USB Port DEAD

When I plug my handset to ANY computer (with, without kies or drivers, it doesn't matter) the phone charges, but, nothing appears on the computer (no unknown device or recognizing the two drives of the phone, but not mounting them (as it did before)) on the phone.
The "USB" icon doesn't prompt and if I go to settings/wireless and network/ USB utilities, when I touch the USB mass storage button, it prompts me to connect cable, which is already connected.
-USB debug isn't activated (I've tried both)
When my phone is powered off and I start to charge it, the charging screen doesn't prompts, It just start booting.
I've tried different USB Cables.
The Phone is Official Stock Never Rooted (I discovered this trying to root it today)
Am I SOL if I want to root it without a working USB Data port?
Any ideas?
i would say make sure there's no dust/ buildup in the port. I had connection issues once to find a pocket lint cramed in there. next do all the other stuff. uninstall/reinstall drivers, diff usb port, diff pc, reboot. My symptoms were similar to yours but i was able to reboot into recovery/bootloader and use adb/fastboot no prob, so not sure. and I was already rooted/twrp recovery. might be worth it to try fastboot in bootloader just to be sure and get a recovery on it asap. If that works you should be able to recover stock or flash whatever, then test usb again in diff pc with fresh kies install. good luck.
Sounds like bad/improper USB cables to me, not all USB cables support data and charging, make sure you're using an official Samsung USB cable.
If you have a friend with a Samsung smart phone ask to try their cable.

No usb connection?

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if it's just me being a noob or if there is something borked on my P6 but I cannot for the life of me get any of my computers to recognise my P6 when I connect it via USB. I have installed the Mobile Drivers and have also tried putting it into USB Debugging mode but the computer doesn't see the phone. It does, however, charge it via USB but I get nothing else saying I'm connected and HiSuite also reports me as not being connected. Any ideas?
Ok, this is solved. Apparently, the phone's USB cable and another that I tried did not work with the phone but I swapped out to a third cable and it works fine.

[Q] LG G3 USB Not working on PC

Hey Guys
Being in IT I always tell people it's a bad Idea unplugging a USB device while you are transferring data to or from it. Should have followed my own advise. I was uploading to my G3 while plugged into my PC when the phone wrung. So Mr Smart guy unplugged it to answer it. After that it was just a no show. It connects and show up in my folder manager, but when I click the device, there are no directories or files. I know if you do that with a USB drive, you need to format it to get it working again.
I'm hoping for an easier solution on how to possibly reset the USB on the phone.
PS. After restarting the phone and PC - still no show - Doesn't work on any USB ports on my PC (USB 2 or 3). PC USB port working as I can plug other devices into it and it connects.

Galaxy A5 2017 USB 3.0 support

I have a replacement cable.
I tried plugging in my device in my laptop using USB 3.0 port but it only charges my phone, it doesn't detect the MTP to transfer files. But when I tried plugging it in in the USB.. 2..0 port, MTP works.
My question is, is this because of the cable? Or is the A5 not supported by USB 3.0?

Click to collapse
Mine works on a USB 3.0 port.
USB 3.0 should be backwards compatible to USB 2.0, so I think it's the cable. Maybe you could try again on a different pc? Just to be sure.
If you're using Windows check your device manager to see what it says, maybe a specific usb driver is needed?

Question I need some help please!

Hi , my Poco F3 arrived today and i was very hyped to use it but i've come into a problem.
Neither my win10 laptop or my F3 can identify each other when i connect them via USB, i can't even find it on the device manager, on my sister's laptop it connects and identifies weirdly enough but that's an older laptop is really slow and unreliable for anything specially since its not mine.
My laptop is a new one 2020 model and it connects well to any other device ...
I've tried replugging 100 times and i've made sure USB debbuging was toggled on my poco, also made sure the usb config was on file transfer, i've tried installing various ADB drivers too but it didn't help.
Can anyone please help me out with this , the poco f3 is my first android device and i really wanted to put other roms and use the ADB fastboot tools to debloat it but without connecting it with my laptop its gonna be very hard ...
Use official USB cable. Don't use a USB hub. Connect directly to the laptop. Change a USB port.
Plug your phone USB cable to laptop, switch file transfer mode on phone drop down menu, then reboot your laptop without disconnecting your phone from laptop.
Right click on the windows button on the task bar. Click on device manager. Does any device appear on their when the F3 is plugged in. Also as said above directly connect to a PC usb port rather than through a hub (maybe use a Usb c to usb c cable if your laptop only has usb c ports)
