Assuming that you have an Android 6.0 Marshmallow and your Rooted and unlocked...
Your model has an ARM Processor so...
You first need to grab the XPosed Framework v87 ARM from here:
http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm/
Then you will need to follow the instructions and grab the XPosed Installer v3.1.1 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Then your good to go.
If you have the Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat, then you are out of luck for now. The XPosed Framework is still actively being worked on by Rovo89 and he will announce the release when it's ready.
Good Luck!

Yes you can flash it if you have a custome recovery (TWRP/CWM). However this is not the subject of this thread!

I have long tried to downgrade my phone SM-G955F to Android 8 or 7.
I have tried many different firmwares but they all seem to fail on installing the new bootloader. I can always recover back to Android 9 using a collection of files called AP_G955FXXUCDUD1_CL21427293_QB39365969_REV00_user_low_ship_meta_OS9.tar.md5
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a ROM running android 8 or 7 that I can root.
Essentially I do not care if it is stock rom as long as I can root the device. I have successfully rooted my devices running android 9 using magisk but the essence is that I need to run android 8 or 7 and being able to use google chrome as a browser.
Any help is much appreciated
Best regards,
Erik
I thought I might have answered my own question. So in order to help other in the same situation I will post my findings.
Looking at related posts on XDA Dev Forum I found the following article, that seem to fit my needs.

So I downloaded the zip file and unpacked it in hopes of finding files compatible with Odin. But they were not. So what I did was install my android 9 OS that I found that was working and then rooted it using TWRP and Magisk, which is quite simple.
Then I found this article:
How to install Renovate Ice 1.2 Android 7.0 Nougat Custom ROM on Galaxy S8/ S8 Plus - Android Advices
Samsung has just recently launched the new Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. Both the devices are extremely powerful as they both have top of the line specs internally. The Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus, both are powered by the latest and the greatest Snapdragon 835 SoC and have 4GB of RAM. And […]

and tried following the steps mentioned.
But unfortunately it did not work. I will try and investigate further or try again without first wiping all the stuff that was mentioned in the guide

Hi,
1) Download the .zip file of the light ROM : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/s8-s8-nougat-01-jan-2020-v30-lightrom.3636154/
Then magisk.zip, search it on the internet.
2) Flash the ROM via a custom recovery
3) Then flash magisk.zip
4) Reboot
It will work for sure with Nougat or Oreo, with any Binary number.
You can downgrade with a custom ROM, not stock.
Lastly don't use Odin but a custom recovery !

Thank you so much!
I will try that. I had found an older phone lying around running stock Oreo, that I rooted.
I struggled a while before getting V4A to work (I am using the latest ProjectX-ROM on my S20 FE 5G snap) so I'll post what worked for me.
Maybe it helps someone with similar problems.
In Magisk I installed ACP from here.
As the official V4A 2.7.2.1 didn't work for me, I used the "ViPER4AndroidFX-repackagedhoch25-1b03ff9.zip" version from here and it works like a charm.
