S9 pixel experience Rom, dual speaker not working - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I flashed my phone(s9) with the new pixel experience Rom a while ago, it's been great but ive encountered some problems with it, first of all I use a glass screen protector and there is no "glove mode" on this rom which I used to use on my Samsung rom, secondly the dual speakers on my phone aren't working. Apart from that whenever I change the font the lockscreen clock gets messed up too
I would really appreciate it if someone would help me out here

[Q] Best lollipop rom

Hi,
I've been testing almost all the lollipop roms for our note 2, but I noticed that all of them have a problem while making or receiving a call: the screen turns black and it's then not possible to end a call, except by removing the battery, which is very annoying to me.
Can you advice me a rom not having this issue? (I tried proximity fix from the play store, which didn't solve the problem, and my sensors all work great with a stock rom)
I also would like to know if a lollipop rom is compatible with the Spen and has it's functionality ported?
Thank you for your answers and advices, thank you all for making this forum so active.
I use Hazy ROM without any black screen on ending calls. End calls in the usual way.
Also I use note buddy app with the cm note buddy add-on to launch apps on pen removal.
Sent from my SGN2 running HazyRom

Never mind, I found the link and installed the rom. It's a great one, I don't have anymore problems during calls except that the proximity sensor doesn't turn off my screen during calls...

its normal to have error since this is the custom roms
using hazy roms makes my imei 0049 :crying:

A little help here for someone who is starting in the modification world :D

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to this modification world, started when I received my Zenfone 2 out of necessity since ZenUI is very poluted and ended up enjoying it
So, right now I'm using SuperZen (super basic) just to get rid of the endless bloatware that comes with the phone... my question is: what is the best overall rom right now for someone who is starting and want something very clean?
Other thing, the double tap feature still working in these others roms or just in stock? Cant live without it, I came from LG G2 and I cant stand at clicking the power buttom anymore... I know that sounds idiotic but is really cool to have this feature...

Camera distortion and brightness problem

Hi everyone, I recently bought a new camera module for the Z1C to replace my old one which had dark spots all over it, scratched lense etc. However, with the new camera (supposedly an original sony part), I experience a strange brightness and distortion problem, with the former one being rather obvious from the attached pictures. Note the large brightness artifact on the right side of the picture (inverted L shape).
I had sent the module back to the camera supplier, they tested it on their Z1C and found no problems whatsoever, telling me it was a (supposedly well known) software bug in my phone. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any occurence of other users reporting this particular problem. Maybe you can help me out?
I have an unlocked bootloader, currently running on the most recent DstrikersZ1 Mod (Android 5.1.1), but have also tried wiping everything and going back to the latest Sony Stock without getting rid of the problem. Could still be an incompatibility issue in terms of camera module hardware revisions? Interestingly, the problem does not occur in CM or AOSP firmwares, suggesting indeed a Sony-related software issue. Still, I find it hard to believe that this cannot be fixed while remaining on Sony-based firmwares. I have tried to flash every single Camera Mod available (Z5 camera, Cyberian, and many more) plus trying many alternative Camera softwares from the Google Play store without any success.
Thank you all very much!

I can see why you're bewildered. Very strange... I would initially think hw for sure, and someone sold you a bad part, but to hear that it goes away on custom ROMs is very confusing. Anyway, personally, I think I would probably send it back and get a refund, and try a different one. Whatever the problem is, that seems like the simplest first thing to try.

Thank you for your quick feedback and sympathy! Unfortunately, they refused to give me a refund based on the fact that they could not reproduce it on their Z1C test device. I had sent them my item and requested a refund/replacement, but they (supposedly) tested my module in detail and even sent me some pictures taken with their Z1C as proof. So now they just delivered the same camera module back to me and I'm kind of stuck with it.
Not sure why they cannot see it, given that it happens for me even on a clean Sony stock firmware. In theory, the only remaining difference between their phone and mine (HW revisions aside) would be my unlocked bootloader and with it the deleted TA partition and DRM for Bravia engine. I still have a TA backup somewhere but I'm not exactly willing to relock my bootloader and to loose TWRP. On a sidenote, the EXRxTHS functional DRM "restoration" did not help with my specific problem.
As you said, the mystery really lies in why the problem is not visibile on custom ROMs. I'd love to get a glimpse on the RAW image data from the camera because I believe that an error in post-processing causes the problem on the Sony ROM. But as far as I could see from searching, there is still no way of getting RAW image data when using a Sony firmware on Z1C, right?

which all thing i will lose

Guys m thinking a lot lot before rooting n installing any rom
One thing cameto n my mind that of i into any custom rom
What thing features i will losse i mean
Face unlock/camera quality /any other feature .?
OOS Camera apparently can never work right on custom ROMs, which annoys a lot of us. Basically the only reason why I'm stuck on OOS forever. You can use the Google Camera but there are a million versions and most of them have problems with Slow motion, front portrait, or some other thing. It works, but it's not perfect. It also doesn't flip the selfies like the stock camera does, which actually bothers me. So you either need to edit it before sending or just deal with it.

Questions

Full screen gesture lag, Dolby and Google camera, ARB/brick
I heard the first can be fixed by a EU software update(8.9.2? But at the cost of getting ARB). Should ARB matter for custom roms later or if we never have a reason to downgrade back to an older miui?
Not sure if I've read about anyone getting Dolby to work yet only v4a. The speakers should be loud enough without either but the point of them is to change the way music sounds with bluetooth/earphones. I've never had any luck getting v4a settings to stick so I always used Dolby on every phone.
Miui stock camera might be good enough if there isn't a fully working gcam. Gcam mod is usually better than most stock cameras I've tried though.
I plan to order from trading shenzhen with eu rom pre-installed because I heard global and China rom has too many problems and I don't want to fix with many steps right after buying. Are there problems people run into with eu rom as well? As in something not many have mentioned much yet but could be a problem later on.
I think those are all my main worries before buying this device. Ty to anyone who can answer them!

No full screen gesture lag. If so, run Nova Launcher and use One Plus gestures with hide nav bar. Not sure about Dolby, but Viper works perfect. Google camera works well with the latest from the Google cam thread for mi max 3. As I said before, I've got you covered with installation help. If you want me to walk you through the above, I will do that as well.
I remotely helped another user who had no clue how to install anything. He's good now. :good:
Edit: excellent Viper settings I'm currently using on latest material fx version downloaded and installed from magisk directly: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...ound-mod-viper4android-best-settings-t3838605

Thanks for the help again. This is already starting to sound like the perfect phone for me before I even buy it. Connectivity issues not a concern
