I tried troubleshooting this as best as I can but I'm at my wits end.
I recently jumped on the $160 Moto Z2 Force deal at Best Buy and successfully unlocked the boot loader and sim unlocked using TWRP File Manager to deny all r/w permissions via chmod 0000 per other guides. I then flashed the stock retail firmware for Oreo but avoided overriding the NON-HLOS.BIN file to keep Sprint's baseband modem. Everything works beautifully on Tmobile and I get LTE data speeds same as my current Nokia 6.1 phone. Watching Youtube and videos with MX Player is perfect.
My problem is when playing my favorite game, Injustice 2. During actual fights whenever you tap or swipe to attack, the audio stutters and cuts off. It's as if the audio mixer can't handle many streams of audio at once. During menus and movie sequences within the game, audio is perfect.
I have the same problem testing with other Nether Realm Studios games that utilize Unreal Engine like Mortal Kombat X, Injustice Gods Among Us, and WWE Immortals. When I test other fighting games not made by Nether Realm Studios such as Tekken and Marvel Contest of Champions, audio is perfectly fine no matter how frantic I mash the screen.
Going through XDA, Reddit, and support forums for the Injustice games (WB Games Forums), I could not find a solution that worked for my case. Closest I got was a user with a Samsung S8 could use a Samsung-only app called "Game Tuner" to reduce the complexity of the Injustice 2 game so that it would run better. Injustice 2 is a fairly old game (2 years?) so I would think a 1-yr-old flagship like the Z2 could handle it at full 2560x1440 resolution.
Unfortunately, I could not see if the original Nougat 7.1.1 that came with the Sprint-branded Z2 Force had the same issue. I flashed the Oreo 8.0.0 firmware already and from other research, I cannot downgrade a bootloader without using esoteric Qualcomm or Motorola tools. I also couldn't load LineageOS or other TWRP-loaded ROMs (made sure I was modifying Slot A, used variety of twrp 3.2.x.x boot loaders, made sure I had Oreo 8.0.0 from sprint flashed before loading other ROMs).
Before I head down the route of alternative ROMs or downgrading to Nougat, would someone mind testing Injustice 2 on their Z2 and reporting their results and what ROM they used? It would be greatly appreciated if someone could confirm they could run Injustice 2 without audio stutter or glitches during fights on their Z2 Force and what ROM they're running.

@f1fan, is that the retail ROM? Based your detailed version number, it looks like the retail ROM from the zip file "NASH_RETAIL_8.0.0_OPXS27.109-34-13_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml". I am running that exact same rom but with the sprint baseband:
Baseband: M8998_20207.117.02.50H NSS
Kernel: 4.4.78-perf-g43d884e [email protected] #1, Fri Jun 29 22:14:20 CDT 2018
Build Number: OPXS27.109-34-13
I may need to record a video of me playing the game so see if anyone else sees the stuttering. I really hope it's not in my head...
@Uzephi, looks like LineageOS might be a possible fix for me. I've failed before but with your luck, will continue to see where I messed up. A deal killer before I go with LineageOS, does it work with Android Auto when paired with a vehicle that supports Android Auto via the vehicle's head unit?

That was a fluke and I still don't know how it worked. I tested once on my in-law's vehicle that had that app, my phone was paired, and somehow it worked... Once, tried a week ago and doesn't work now. I.E. I don't use the feature to say how or which build worked. It doesn't work on current nightly and 4.4.155.

Darn, guess LineageOS might not be my daily driver ROM, but I still want to test to see if it will fix my stutter issues. Thanks for the heads up, though!
Speaking of which, following is a vimeo video of the stuttering on my Z2 (stutters at 0:10):
vimeo.com/289013401
You can also see if it's just plain video without me tapping/swiping on the screen, there is no stutter (skip to 0:53).
Compared to my Nokia 6.1, the entire fight is smooth sounding with no stutters:
vimeo.com/289013494
On the Z2, the more I tap/swipe, the more stuttering you can hear. It also at times sounds like clipping, but I made sure to lower the volume on my Z2 to less then 25% volume and it still has this stuttering/clipping issue.
So is the stuttering in the first video above all in my head? Am I describing it as "stutter" incorrectly? Oddly enough, other games have no issue so long as they're not Nether Realm Studio games (Tekken and Marvel Contest of Champions both sound smooth on my Z2).
Minor clarification, the audio stutter also appears using a bluetooth speaker and 3.5mm headphones using the included Moto USB-C to 3.5mm socket.
I also attempted to lower the screen resolution to extreme levels to see if lessening the GPU & CPU load would improve the audio, it did not. I used following commands to set lower resolution:
Code:
adb shell wm size 360x640
adb shell wm density 190
The stuttering didn't seem better at all. FYI, if anyone else tries this and forgets the density used on their phone (like me), use following to reset:
Code:
adb shell wm size reset
adb shell wm density reset
Great phone for the price, but damn this weird audio problem.
I think I figured out why I couldn't flash a custom ROM: the boot loader for slots A & B were different. slotA was Oreo from the retail OEM rom and slotB was Oreo from the sprint OEM rom. Weird, I thought the "flashfile.bat" file flashed both slots A & B. It's created from "prep.bat" which ultimately did a find/replace on the "flashall.xml" file to put fastboot commands. All I did was explicitly set active slot to B and noticed it complained about invalid bootloader so I flashed the bootloader only from the retail OEM rom so that my slots A & B had the same boot loader loaded.
After that, simply booting twrp (didn't need to flash it) and flashing AOSiP to the B slot and clearing user data (fastboot erase userdata or via twrp) and I could finally boot AOSiP. Weird thing is, when I flashed it to Slot A I couldn't boot AOSiP, but it's late and I probably just made a mistake or something.
Good news: AOSiP doesn't have the same audio stuttering as the OEM rom. Bad news: AOSiP has graphical glitches in the game and appears to not render shadows...and I fear AOSiP doesn't work with Android Auto.
Will now try with other ROMs to see if they might have good sound, good graphics, and working Android Auto.
So it appears the graphical issue on AOSiP or LineageOS was due to HW overlay. Turned on "Disable HW overlays" in Developer Options and both render Injustice 2 correctly.
Unfortunately neither work with my car's Android Auto. It just shows as AA is connected in both AOSiP or LineageOS but my car doesn't pair with either ROM. I can pair bluetooth functionality for music and calls but AA never pairs. Strange.
Decided to go back to STOCK retail rom w/Sprint baseband to get AA back. Luckily, Injustice 2 Mobile game had update this week and it improved a lot of things. Stutters are significantly reduced so this is a keeper!

I've tried everything to get emulators for retro games such as sonic for the sega to run smoothly and with perfect sound. But it wont work. This isnt just for sonic its for any game in snes, gba or sega. I even overclocked the Play to 1.4 GHZ amnd the effects are exactly the same i bet i could overclo9ck to 5ghz and it would still stutter.
Does anyone have a clue about what the heck is going on with this Play? Videos show these games running full speed 200% on youtube. No other users have reported anything similar to my issues either.
Why is it important? I bought the play as an emulation machine not as a phone.
EDIT: Not to mention i now have an unknown baseband in the process... lol
Try to Re-flash using Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)...
You can no longer find this software from Sony website but is accesible through third-party download centres such as Megaupload and Rapidshare.

Agreed, it sounds like a bad flash or something TBH.
Just used the flashtool and im back on 3.0 and baseband working again, but still emulator issue as before. Im in the process of doing an OTA to still keep the root which i did, rather than what i did before using the pc tool it removed root.
Is there any pointers for where i can get this SEUS like what version? How it works what files needed etc?
Thanks
Rather than hi jack the MIUI thread
I get the same crackling sound on mine, although I don't have any visual lag whatsoever. Prolly just the youtube quality, but I dont see it in your vid either.
As for the sound, that's the emulators fault. The -oid series have done that for me on both my phones, with varying degrees depending on which emu. However I just tried an alternate genesis app (genplusdroid), and it's a whole different ball game. I think it's running a tad slow, but zero crackling in the sound, unlike gensoid.
I'd try some different emulators
A genplusdroid i'll have to check it out. Somone recomended that supergnes is good fro snes and it is its better than snesoid.
supergnes - runs well on the play
genplusdroid - seems to run well on the play with no stuttering
n64oid - runs without stuttering at accaptable levels
Hmhm i wonder how these things will run on MIUI on the play.
Since MIUI is based on CM7, it will run the same as that, which should be just fine.
OK so all of a sudden my Netflix app starts giving me a error code when I go to play a movie ( unable to start video playback error 13009) well after touring the web wih help of Google of course, I formed the opinion the Netflix's last update was the issue as others were having the same problem and they claimed it was happening since the last update on theirs as well. Remembering that when I had the Vibrant with T-Mobile I also had the same issue when I went with a aosp build as it would not play Avatar. Well with the Vibrant it would play with aosp but when I went and changed to a certain kernel build it would give me a error stating that it could not play Drm protected content. I learned that certain kernel builds on that device lacked some line of Code or something that caused it to lose the ability to play said content and with the tigers blood kernels it could still play the movie ( can't remember the kernel that could not). Well taking that experience I decided to get boot loader off the market and load a few different Roms and ty them out, plus I wanted to try kush's ICS while still having my daily driver easily accessable. Well here is what I found out, Netflix plays flawlessly on Sense roms but is unusable on aosp builds, same exact version of Netflix cause its from my TB and I restored it from there on all builds. I have tried out multiple kernels with the hope that, like the Vibrant, I would find one that Netflix will still play on. But alas, to no avail my attempts were futile because I had no luck in my quest to achieve video playback from NF on a aosp build, only Sense based roms. I do believe however that before the last update NF did in fact work on aosp's and that somehow the developers at NF changed something within the Rom that will cause failure in video playback and generation of said error code 13009. I did notice that Google video also queries the Rom and if its rooted will not allow video rental through the service stating that the phone appears to be rooted and therefore use of the service is disabled. I would like to see if anyone has any ideas and if we can find out what the service looks for and if there's a way to defeat this so movie watching on aosp's is once again possible..

Hi. This is my first post - I'm new to Android - this is my first Android phone and places like this and the people here and their work are why I switched.
(short version)
Can any Note2 gamers out there chime in on game performance? I am getting deal-breaking lag on any game I try (admittedly limited but including GTA3, MaxPayne and MAME).
(long version)
In the month or so I've had the phone I have rooted and unlocked it, used stock for a while and then went to Jelly Beans' ROM. I've run all the odd numbered versions of that rom, stock kernel, clean wipe every time. I've read the thread about the rom all the way through...
About a week ago I learned I could use a PS3 controller over USB natively for gaming and it worked right our of the box for games like GTA3 and Max Payne. I grabbed the games, and they seem to play great, but there is a noticeable audio lag - like 1/2 to a full second. The visuals seem to be smooth, and the controls seem to be responsive, but the audio lag makes games unplayable. I've only tried those two games pul some emulators, but both animaonline (SNES) and mame4droid (not reloaded) have the same audio lag issues. I get the lag over bluetooth and with wired headphones.
Some searching showed me that audio latency has been an issue with Android for a while, but also that Jelly Bean was supposed to fix that, and that higher end phones (like the note 2?!) had less of a problem. I also haven't seen any complaints from Note 2 owners regarding any of the games I mentioned.
I'm curious what others' experience has been with this. Thanks,

Bean's ROM is an rom that was ported so it was not made specifically for the Sprint GN2. THIS is probably your problem.

Got myself a 'made in China' pocket projector.
It only has the size of a phone and has a 5000mah battery so it's easy to enjoy a big screen everywhere.
(A full battery gives about 2 hours and 15 minutes of projection time at full brightness and the projector easily goes over 100 inch in projection size)
It has Wifi & Bluetooth, 2 usb connections, an infra red receiver, a hdmi out, earphone/line-out and runs on Android 4.4.4.
The usb makes it easy to connect harddisk, memory stick,.. but also things like keyboard & mouse. (you can also use it as a powerbank to charge your phone.-
The built in speaker has 1 Watt and sounds quite loud for this little device but it has no bass so you can connect it also to a soundsystem with the line out (or wireless with bluetooth) for better sound experience
It has a native 854 by 480 resolution, which is not HD but as you see in the youtube video it is a very clear and sharp image.
The built-in media player supports about every music, video and picture format (if it is supported by an app in android)
It is advertised on various websites going from 120 Ansi Lumen up to 1000 lumens but the actual lumens are 100.
For such a small projector this is more then enough. It is visible inside during daytime (not outside in direct sunlight) but it is at it's best in low light/dark room situation.
The Playstore is fully working so almost every app can be installed. Apps that mirror your phone/laptop screen let you enjoy everything wireless with wifi on a big screen
The launcher provided is nice but provides no settings which is a shame because if i delete an app from the homescreen the picture shortcut will stay and i can't replace it with something else. (I however always can install another launcher from the playstore)
It also has no pulldown menu for notifications/quicksettings, so if i get a notification, i can hear it but i cannot open the pulldown screen
The quadcore Arm Cortex a7 with RK3128 chip makes the Android in this projector react very smooth & fast.
It has 1 gigabyte ram & 16 Gigabyte internal memory. 1 gigabyte is not that much because most apps will only install in this memory and you start with only about 500 megabyte of free storage place.
The only minus is the Hdmi connection slot.. It doesn't support Hdmi IN, only hdmi out, that means you can not connect a game console to it for playing games. The Chinese sellers didn't mention it was only hdmi out.. (who wants a hdmi out to a smaller tv screen that shuts down the projection screen once connected lol)
Hello Man,
I thinking about other using of this, so i would like install to device IFTTT (if this then that) app. It's can be working? I would like to using this device for wakeup alarm video (ie. a short movie from internal memory).
thanks.

Bricked mine - help
I saw there was an update available and downloaded it. Got an error on install and now it's stuck on the recovery system screen. None of the options get it out of the loop. Know anyplace where there's a factory image?

Fixed!
Got hold of the vendor thru Amazon. Downloaded the image file and installer program (713mb). Went smoothly thru a male to male USB cable. Now have the latest upgrade. htc_d002_box_en_noota_20160317-3.img
Where you find this vendor? My projector after update not working and now in recovery mode too
Vendor
The vendor was hard to contact directly. Amazon intercepts communications and edits out email addresses, even when you try to disguise them.
Eventually, they did get an email to me directly and included the installer zip file and the instruction doc file. And a link to mailQQ.com where they had put the .img file.
The return email address I got was [email protected]

Thank you very much for helping, now I repairing my projector and everything is working
Hello, can you tell me if it has keystone correction?
Thanks
No, it doesn't. Only focus.
ASK
Hi,
Is it possibile to switch off the LED (and fan) from API or other way? (like standby mode in a smartphone. Processes are running, ie. alarm clock,etc.). Thx.
I don't know. I'm not a programmer.
Is this a clone of the EcSee M6 projector?
If so, is there a difference?
Can you say something to the fan noise?
It DOES say M6 on the box it came in and the logo M6 is shown on the illustration in the instruction booklet but not on the projector. That's all I know about it.
The fan noise is audible but not bad enough to distract from the audio. The fan slows down and is quieter when not using the charger.
Thank you for the fast answer.
So I am looking forward to get it soon, it's on it's way from gearbest.
Does it have OTA update function?
Please note my previous post about updates. This projector's android version still includes setup apps that may try to use a cell phone chip that's NOT in the unit as it seems to have been developed using a HTC image. I STRONGLY discourage anyone from using the OTA update function of this unit.
Received it and it works perfect.
I would like to mod the fan as its a little to loud.
There are quieter fans on the market.
Has anyone tried to open the projector?

The feeling is mutual, i've received the projector yesterday and i was very excited to replace the TV with this huge screen, but the noise of the fan is still echoing in my head. Just spoke to an expert that told me to try to put some grease/vaseline (industrial) or to replace the fan with a best one. He has no problem to make that operation but my question is is there a quieter fan ?
Would anyone be able to upload the firmware? I have contacted the manufactures but haven't heard back yet... probably due to Chinese holiday. Mine was June 2016, but I think an older kernel would work.
I need the firmware too because i have the chinese firmware (no play store) and i would change to english firmware with kodi and play store.
Thanks.
I have the same device - but i stock on recovery. i need rom for that device. someone know from where?
Hello, I have a slight issue with my Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi (flo). Currently running on Slim 6.0.1 alpha but to be honest it was the same on CM13 Nightly and Paranoid OS.
Whats the nature of the issue:
While playing 1080p youtube videos after every 10 seconds there is a half second frame stop - mildly annoying
If I watch my series on my tablet with VLC/BS Player/MX Player this POS does the same even with 720p - very annoying
There is nothing more just the occasional lag but as it is a 2 years old tablet with a 3 years old hardware I guess that's okay.
I tried a bunch of things (factory reset, wipe, reinstall, another OS) however, no progress yet. Since I am out of ideas would you be so kind and advise a possible solution?
Thank you in advance! (And pardon my English)
Please try the following:
download SPMC (alt) (Kodi)
install and run it
in SPMC install YouTube addon
Test it out and let us know.
My intuition tells me that the problem is WIFI/network related rather than hardware/rom related. One easy way to confirm this is to download the entire video to your tablet (maintaining the 1080 or 720 quality respectively), playing it locally, and seeing if you still get the frame drops.
I suspect that you won't.
If you don't, then it's time for communications diagnostics and optimizations. There's a slew of things that might help, from the simple (like turning off bluetooth), to the complex (hacks to increase communication buffer size), and so on.
Well, SPMC works with offline 720p mkv, now it is barely slowing however, I cannot set to watch youtube videos in 1080p. The default is 1080p and asks the resolution but the max is 720p.
Yup, definitely sounds like a bandwidth issue to me.
My fiancee has the exact same tablet, she bought it 2 months later at the same place. The only difference between the 2 devices is the OS. Her's runs on stock and mine runs on Slim 6, the stock plays videos online/offline flawlessly. Since mine is struggling with both I believe this is not a bandwidth issue but I am not an expert. Probably worth mentioning that my Meizu M1 Note and her Huawei P8 Lite runs videos smoothly.
Would it be a possible solution to reinstall the stock OS? Yes, I am that desperate.
BTW: Thank you!
